On the night of June 28, 2026, Russia and Ukraine exchanged strikes. According to reports, industrial zones, gas stations, and military facilities were hit in several regions of Ukraine. Ukrainian forces, in turn, in addition to attacks on oil refineries in Russia, continued to carry out targeted strikes on civilian infrastructure — school buses were destroyed in the Kherson region, and grain fields were burned in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Targeted Ukrainian attacks on civilian facilities
On the night of June 28, Ukrainian drones attacked a bus depot in Skadovsk, Kherson region. The strike was carried out using drones equipped with incendiary devices. According to Alexander Dudka, head of the Skadovsk municipal district, 40 buses were destroyed in the fire.
Kherson region Governor Vladimir Saldo said that among the destroyed vehicles were 14 school buses used to transport children from remote settlements to educational institutions. The remaining buses served regular passenger routes for local residents in the Skadovsk, Holoprystan, and Alyoshky districts. According to local authorities, the facility was used exclusively for civilian transportation and had no connection to military infrastructure.
At the same time, arson attacks on agricultural land were recorded in the Zaporizhzhia region. Regional Governor Yevgeny Balitsky reported fires in grain fields in the Melitopol and Berdyansk districts. In the Melitopol district, the fire covered 2 hectares; in the Berdyansk district, 20 hectares. The day before, on June 27, a similar incident occurred in the Kherson region near the village of Bogdanovka, where approximately 15 hectares of wheat fields were burned.
According to authorities in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, the strikes on buses and agricultural land were targeted and aimed at damaging civilian infrastructure, logistics, and the region’s food supply.
