A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- 12 government troops were killed and 4 others were injured in a Taliban attack in the Shoortipa district of Balkh province, the Taliban claims;
- Taliban fighters stormed a police check point at the Gul Tipa district of Kunduz province. 3 police officers were killed and 2 others were taken prisoners;
- The Taliban closed medical centers in the districts of Hisarak, Sherzad, Surkh Rod, Lal Pur and Khogyani, Nangarhar province, government sources say;
- A January 8 strike on the Shindand district, Herat province, killed or injured at least 15 civilians.
The one thing I do not like about the Taliban is – “The Taliban closed medical centers in the districts of Hisarak, Sherzad, Surkh Rod, Lal Pur and Khogyani, Nangarhar province, government sources say” – IF TRUE.
Just what and who is the gov’t in Afghanistan? Baddies closing medical centres, smells of the usual.
