  • A car bomb attack hit a convoy of the governor of Wardak province. 3 police officers and 2 security guards were killed. The governor survived the attack;
  • The Taliban released an official statement on the mosque bombing in the Haska Mina district of Nangarhar province, which took place during friday prayers on October 18 killing at least 27 people. The movement blamed ISIS for the attack and said that these “ruthless criminals” were backed by “foreign and domestic” forces to fuel the conflict;
  • The Taliban said that 46 government troops had joined its ranks in the Baghlan-i-Markazi district of Wardak province;
  • The Taliban claimed that 14 government troops were killed in the recent clashes in the Gizab district, Daykundi province.
