Military Situation In Afghanistan On March 11, 2019 (Map Update)

  • The Kabul government says that the Pakistan military continues cross-border shelling in the Durand Line area. According to the report submitted to the UN, since January 1, 2019, Pakistanian forces have fired 6,025 artillery shells into Afghan territory;
  • According to the government report, in the period from 2012 to 2017, 28,849 artillery shells were fired into Afghanistan killing at least 82 people and injuring 187 others;
  • On March 7, the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq claimed that an attack on a Shia ceremony in Kabul had killed or wounded up to 30 people;
  • 13 civilians were reportedly killed in US airstrikes in the district of Hesarak, Nangarhar province.

That is how they cultivate their fields there be it for rice or maize or poppy bushes. The ones killed were most likely field planters that trying to plant before cultivation had finished .Trying to plant as cultivation is going on saves time but you have to run the right way or poof , gone.
