A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- At least 10 civilians were killed and 15 others were wounded after a mortar attack on a residential area in the Sangin district of Helmand province;
- Six civilians were killed and two more were injured after a roadside mine explosion in the Washir district of Helmand province;
- According to the US State Department , the US peace envoy Zalmay Khalilzad will meet Taliban leaders in Doha;
- At least 4 Afghan security forces were killed in a Taliban attack in Firozkoh district, Ghor province;
- At least 6 soldiers were killed and 2 others were wounded as a result of a Taliban attack on the checkpoints of Afghan security forces in northern Kunduz.
