A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- US aircraft dropped 7,423 bombs and other munitions in Afghanistan in 2019, according to data by the Air Forces Central Command;
- At least 9 police officers were killed in a Taliban attack in the city of Pul-e-Khumri, Baghlan province. Some sources claim that the number of killed police could be up to 16;
- The Taliban attacked police checkpoints in the Nachain Kamerband area of Tarin Kowt city. 11 police were allegedly killed and 4 others were wounded;
- The Taliban claimed that at least 10 soldiers were killed and 3 others were wounded in an attack in the Imam Sahib district of Kunduz province.
