On December 14th, the Russian flag was raised on the building of the city administration in the center of Kurakhovo. The footage confirms Russian control of the entire central district of the city.
The captured building of the city administration is located on Mira Avenue. The video published by Russian military sources shows Russian soldiers raising the flag. They are acting openly and do not hide from enemy fire, thus, confirming that Russian forces completed the mop up operations and secured their control of the areas nearby. Thus, the Armed Forces of Ukraine retreated from the entire quarter of the apartment building in the center of Kurakhovo.

After the Russian military completed the mop up operations at the local elevator located on the southern coast of the water reservoir, they also secured their control on the streets around the large industrial facility. According to the most recent reports from the battlefield, units of the Russian 5th Separate Motorized Riffle Brigade set up minefields and thwarted Ukrainian counterattack on armored personnel carriers in the area of the garage cooperative on Zaporizhia Avenue. One armored vehicle was destroyed, the second hastily retreated.
The retreating Ukrainian forces are holding defense in the industrial zone west of Kurakhovo. The Kurakhovskaya thermal power plant located on the western outskirts may turn into another Ukrainian fortress. At the same time, Russian attacks continue in Dachnoe and all the routs to the city are under close Russian fire control. Kurakhovo and its industrial zone are almost encircled and any Ukrainian defense there is already doomed to defeat.

when and from where though ?. everyone was sure donbass would have fallen by now, arestovich claimed it would be in november. ukrainians are now building defenses outside of donetsk. even taking into account its a flatland up there, russia’s lack of advance in zaporizhia or kharkov, suggests it could only come from donbass.
rf will just flank around these defenses, even the chinese wall ended somewhere🥢🥡🥢
