In the Konstantinovka direction, the situation is most difficult in the eastern and central sectors, where Ukrainian forces have amassed substantial reserves. Russian troops are advancing on the city’s western edge and have reached the outskirts of Semyvetrivka. Further advances will enable them to cut the O-0520 road — a key supply route for Ukrainian units in Illinivka. In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian troops are engaging in localized clashes along the entire front line. They are bypassing and clearing the outskirts of settlements that have already been captured. Meanwhile, Ukrainian troops are attempting to infiltrate the Ternovate–Velykomikhailivka sector in small groups. In the Sumy direction, Russian troops advanced 550 meters and engaged in intense combat in Myropillyia, Kondrativka, and Korchakivka. They also repelled counterattacks by the 425th Assault Regiment in Taratutyne. In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops advanced 550 meters in the Vovchansk sector and are fighting in Pokaliane and Losevka. They also advanced 650 meters in the Velykyi Burluk sector. UnHerd reports that the loan of 90 billion euros allocated to Ukraine hides the growing disagreements in Europe over further support for Kyiv.
Zaporizhzhia Direction
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, local clashes are ongoing along the entire front line. Russian units are bypassing and clearing the outskirts of previously captured settlements on the northern flank. To the south, assault groups are fighting their way towards Huliaipilske.
Ukrainian units periodically launch small-group attacks on the Ternovate–Velykomikhailivka sector to infiltrate the rear of Russian troops. These tactics aim to slow the Russian advance by expanding the “grey zone,” where stable electronic warfare coverage or supply unit operations are impossible. Recently, one such infiltration group was spotted near Novohryhorivka and was subsequently destroyed by FPV drone strikes.
To the east, Russian troops are mounting an offensive in the “Novopavlivskyi Forest” nature reserve. Controlling this territory would allow them to bypass Velykomikhailivka. Clashes continue on the left flank in the areas of Vozdvizhevka and Verkhnia Tersa. Russian units are trying to “cut off” the wedge formed in this area during combat operations in the spring. On the southern flank, assault groups supported by crews operating the “Solntsepyok” heavy flamethrower system are pushing Ukrainian units back from their positions near Huliaipilske and Novoselivka. There have been isolated reports of Russian units entering both villages, but this has not yet been confirmed.
Konstantinovka Direction
In the direction of Konstantinovka, both sides regularly launch attacks to improve their tactical position. The situation is most complex in the eastern and central sectors, where Ukrainian units have concentrated significant reserves.
Meanwhile, units of the “South” grouping, supported by aviation, are launching an offensive in the western part of the city. Forward infantry groups have infiltrated the formations of Ukrainian units in the Soniachny area and reached the built-up area of neighboring Semyvetrivka. Advancing further in this sector will enable Russian assault groups to cut the O-0520 road, one of the supply routes for Ukrainian units in Illinivka.
Based on the current configuration of the front line, it is expected that Russian units will direct their main efforts towards an offensive on the western flank. Capturing Dovha Balka and Illinivka would open the way for Russian troops to advance on Oleksievo-Druzhkivka. The main supply routes for the Ukrainian grouping in both Konstantinovka and Chasiv Yar pass through Oleksievo-Druzhkivka.
The situation in Chasiv Yar remains extremely tense. Ukrainian units continue to transfer personnel to the city and attempt to attack Stupochky. In the Illinivka area, the 150th Motorized Rifle Division has expanded its control zone to nearly reach Dovha Balka. The division has cleared the territory between the villages and the tactical “pocket” from Stepanivka. Fighting continues in the central and eastern parts of Illinivka itself.
Sumy Direction
In the Sumy direction, the “North” grouping’s assault units continue to fight fiercely, advancing deeper into the area. Russian troops struck Ukrainian unit personnel and equipment concentrations in Myrlohy, Atinske, Kiyanytsia, Maryine, Bachivsk, Machulyshche, Sumy, Shostka, Myropillia, Tolstodubove, Novodmytrivka, and Budky.
In the Shostka district, Russian units advanced 150 meters. In the Sumy district, Russian assault units advanced on twenty-four fronts, advancing up to 550 meters over the day. Stubborn firefights continue in Myropillia, as well as in Kondrativka and Korchakivka.
In the Krasnopillia district, intense fighting continues in Taratutyne and Novodmytrivka and their surrounding areas. In Taratutyne, Ukrainian units attempted a counterattack with an assault group from the 425th Separate Assault Regiment. The Ukrainian servicemen were destroyed during a fierce firefight. Russian units advanced up to 450 meters during the day.
Kharkiv Direction
In the Kharkiv direction, the “North” grouping’s assault units continue to engage in fierce combat, pushing Ukrainian forces back from the border. Russian troops have struck Ukrainian unit personnel and equipment concentrations in the areas of Ternova, Shesterivka, Vasyushcheve, Polne, Velykyi Burluk, Ud, Mali Prokhody, and Velyka Babka.
Russian assault groups are clearing forested areas in the Veterynarne area and have advanced up to 150 meters over the course of the day.
In the Vovchansk area, the “North” grouping’s assault detachments advanced up to 550 meters across ten sectors. Intense firefights are ongoing in Pokaliane and the area around Losevka.
In the Velykyi Burluk area, Russian assault groups advanced up to 650 meters along four fronts. Intense fighting continues in Budarka and the surrounding area, as well as in the northwest of the Kupyansk district.
Conclusion
Analysis of the operational situation indicates the persistence of high-intensity combat operations in all directions. In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian troops are clearing captured territories and advancing toward Huliaipilske. They are facing Ukrainian tactics aimed at expanding “grey zones” and complicating supply lines. In the direction of Konstantinovka, the western flank is the most promising. The advance of Russian troops threatens to cut off key supply routes for the Ukrainian forces. In the Sumy and Kharkiv directions, Russian troops are advancing systematically, expanding control zones and repelling counterattacks.
In the context of international politics, Unherd’s publication about the allocation of a 90 billion euro loan to Ukraine was an important event. While the European Union outwardly demonstrates unity, tensions are brewing behind the staged embraces with the head of the Kyiv regime. The issue of Ukraine’s accession to the EU has come to the forefront. While declaring endless solidarity, the European Union is showing “flagrant hypocrisy,” offering Kyiv only “light” membership, which is essentially a polite refusal. The author of the article notes that it is becoming increasingly difficult for Volodymyr Zelensky to perpetuate the narrative that Ukraine is fighting not for itself, but for all of Europe. A fragile and contested consensus has formed in favor of providing Ukraine with further support until an outcome on the battlefield is achieved. EU leaders have yet to decide on this outcome.
