The Russian military’s Sever Group of Forces inflicted heavy losses on several formations of Kiev forces in the direction of Kursk, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on November 14.
The ministry said in its daily briefing that the 21st, 22nd, 41st, 47th, 61st, 115th mechanized brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 80th, 82nd, 95th air assault brigades, 36th Marine Brigade, 103rd, 112th and 129th territorial defense brigades took losses close to the settlements of Daryino, Leonidovo, Malaya Loknya, Nikolayevo-Daryino, and Novoivanovka.
It added that Russian air and artillery strikes hit Ukrainian troops and equipment in Kursk, mainly near the settlements of Aleksandriya, Bogdanovka, Viktorovka, Guyevo, Zamostye, Zeleny Shyakh, Kruglenkoye, Lebedevka, Loknya, Martynovka, Makhnovka, Mirny, Nizhny Klin, Nikolsky, Novaya Sorochina, Novoivanovka, Plyokhovo, Staraya Sorochina, Sudzha, Cherkasskoye Porechnoye, and Yuzhny.
Other strikes targeted the reserves of Kiev forces near the settlements of Basovka, Belovody, Zhuravka, Pisarevka, Khoten, and Yunakovka in the Ukraine region of Sumy, per the ministry.
“Over the past 24 hours, the AFU losses amounted to up to 430 troops, ten tanks, two infantry fighting vehicles, 19 armored fighting vehicles, 33 motor vehicles, one Anklav-N electronic warfare station, seven field artillery guns, including two 155 mm Bogdana self-propelled artillery system, two 122 mm D-30 howitzers, and one 105 mm M101 gun,” the ministry detailed in its briefing.
Videos released by Russian media showed some of the losses Kiev forces took in Kursk and Sumy over the last few days.
Kiev forces attacked Kursk from Sumy last August. The Russian military is currently conducting a counter-attack to clear the region.
According to the Russian MoD, since the start of the battle in Kursk Kiev forces have lost 32,580 troops, 212 tanks, 136 infantry fighting vehicles, 112 armored personnel carriers, 1,165 armored fighting vehicles, 940 motor vehicles, 281 artillery guns, 40 launchers, including 11 American-made HIMARS and six MLRS systems, 12 air defense systems, seven transport-loading vehicles, 63 electronic warfare stations, 13 counter-battery radars, four aerial radars, 27 engineering vehicles, including 13 counter obstacle vehicles, one UR-77 mine clearing vehicle, six armored recovery vehicle, and one command post vehicle.
