In Both Word and Deed: Putin's Missile Ultimatum To The West And The Russian Troops' Breakthrough Into The Kurakhove City

The highlight of the past 24 hours was the launch by the Russian Armed Forces of the medium-range ballistic missile “Oreshnik” (speed – 10 Mach or about 3 kilometers per second) and the ultimatum addressed by the Russian President Vladimir Putin not only to Ukraine, but also to its Western bosses, who officially authorized the use of ATACMS and Storm Shadow missiles on Russian territory. The Yuzhmash missile factory in Dnepr (Dnepropetrovsk), which has been producing missile equipment since the Soviet era, was hit. Shortly before the strike, Moscow warned Washington about the launch to avoid accidentally starting a nuclear war. From the media perspective, this case was out of the ordinary, and Western politicians, as well as the public, reacted violently to it.

Against this background, Russian forces continue their successful advance in three areas near the Kurakhove (Donetsk Region), isolating the Ukrainian garrison in the city from three directions at once and increasingly tightening the encirclement ring. The Ukrainian side’s efforts to organize mine barriers separating the eastern and central parts of the city have not yielded any results.

A Russian artillery brigade successfully detected an M113 armored personnel carrier of the Ukrainian armed forces near the city of Kurakhove. With the help of target illumination from an Orlan-30 UAV, the vehicle was destroyed by a Krasnopol precision-guided artillery munition

On the northern flank, Russian troops have taken most of the Novodmitrivka area, and are holding about half of Sontsivka, the capture of which will open the way to Starye Terny. At the same time, the Russian fighters captured Novoselidovka and the fields west of it: the movement of Russian infantry has been detected in the settlement itself, while the battles have shifted to the south.

On the northern shore of the Kurakhovo reservoir, Russian units from the 5th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade stormed Novaya Ilyinka and engaged in fighting for Berestki, moving along towards Stary Terny, which opens the way to the rear of Ukrainian positions in the center of Kurakhove.

In Kurakhove itself, Russian troops planted flags at the Maryinka district power plant, just inside the city.

Unconfirmed reports say that fighting is already taking place near the Kurakhove grain elevator and the bus station, located in the city center near the bridge to Novaya Ilyinka. To the southeast, Russian assault groupes are advancing along dry areas on hilltops. Some time ago, the they took control of an important stronghold that leads to the southern outskirts of the city.

To the south, Russian troops finally captured the settlement of Dalneye, and a Russian armored vehicle raid in the fields north of Ilyinka succeeded in establishing a more precise front configuration at the Dalneye-Pobeda frontier.

Reconnaissance of Ukrainian positions

Meanwhile, on the southern flank, from the direction of Bogoyavlenka, a successful attack by a Russian assault group of the 2nd Battalion of the 39th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade was reported. The fighters expanded the zone of control and occupied part of the Ukrainian positions in the Lesnaya Dacha grove south of Vesely Gai, the complete clearing of which will make it possible to bypass the Ukrainian armed forces’ fortifications near Yelizavetivka from the rear.

Along with this, a few days earlier, Russian troops entered Trudovoye and planted a flag on the southern outskirts of the village. At the moment, fighting continues there. To the west, the zone of control has been expanded in the fields near Maksimovka and along the O0510 highway, where Ukrainian forces are attempting to launch counterattacks and shell the forward defense lines of the Russian army.

By and large, in the Kurakhove direction, the Russian Armed Forces have advanced with a broad front north of Antonovka. The intensity of the fighting remains high in Dalneye and Kurakhove. From the bulge near Dalneye, Russian troops are turning their flank towards the villages near the Sukhi Yaly River, approaching from the north.

wow these guys who are doing active reconaissance of enemy positions are real heroes✌️and afu along all frontlines who have not surrendered yet are insane 🥶 so let the missiles rain hellfire especially on the yankee missile squads who need a big lesson🚀and hit the enemy dormitories, operation rooms and munition ships/trains🤫🫶👊

surrendering means beeing shot…..

exactly what those tornado-s, artillery, tos, fpvs, and combat aviation is doing. more the latter if a bottom of a tu-16 is fit with~10mm weapons stations to rain down metal hail into the trenches from altitude (over 10km) it would send an additional message to upkrops that kursk is too rugged of a place to do ukrop sort of things. 10km seems like a long ways for small arms fire, but remember much is thru very thin atmosphere &gravity helps maintain speed.

Just Sayin

the tupolev could also have other roles, such as dropping gliders into the area below, and such gliding units could have various roles, from recon to mothership roles. gliders are perfect for even things such as dropping leaflets, supplying friendly troops, and much more. so this could be highly multi role and versatile. and the old bucket could be unmanned, or manned with escape pods (eg such as on the f111 aardvark).

what most people don’t understand about nuclear war: why putin can’t launch nuclear weapons now or in the near future: most people don’t know how military things work and that is why they fall for putin’s psychological warfare. take note of putin’s greatest success: invasion of ukraine february 2022, it happened quickly, and caught everyone, including ukraine off guard.

8th Wonder

military secrecy is a very critical part of military success. but here is putin now talking about launching nukes and they’re going to attack with one nuke (that’s a very dumb thing to do). everyone is waiting for the attack. and waiting… and waiting… well, military success does not work like this ever.

if you are serious then you attack first and talk later. if you talk then all you do is make everyone notice you. what nobody ever wonders about are all the pilots, engineers and military personnel in america, europe and the west whose daily job is to monitor russian nuclear stuff.

8th Wonder

you’ll be amazed at how governments really work and how the military really works. nowadays, there are massive satellite networks, massive interlinked computer systems and all kinds of methods of monitoring the russians. here’s what most people don’t know about nukes: to launch actual nuclear ballistic missiles requires a complex process.

8th Wonder

this takes time and communications have to be sent between moscow and the nuclear installations. the western military know how the process works and they monitor the radio and other satellite data in real time. if the russians really want to attack, firstly, they would never announce it ever.

8th Wonder

secondly, the west is monitoring every day even when the russians say nothing. when the russians, especially putin and high level officials open their mouths, the western military watches even more closely. everyone, from the cia to the nuclear forces goes into high gear.

8th Wonder

if the russians were serious they would not say one word at all about nukes. you would not know it’s coming it would happen quickly. perhaps you’d hear of a “routine nuclear exercise” – at best. but most probably not even that. it would just happen.

8th Wonder

for putin to warn and warn and warn endlessly and to then launch a nuclear attack is the worst possible military thing he could do. why? because the usa, britain and france – all of whom have their nuclear weapons targeting russia. the british have a nuclear submarine on standby 24/7 (the subs take turns), in the atlantic and it targets moscow specifically. between the usa, britain and france, they’ll be ready and they will counter nuke russia immediately.

8th Wonder

putin is a propagandist and putin talks and he uses psychological warfare and he bluffs 90% of the time. he sees how jumpy the west is. that’s the real game. go to bed, there’s no nuclear war coming. putin will not even use a small nuclear weapon because he knows america will kick his teeth out on short order.
