The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) repelled terrorists’ attack on the towns of al-Hamameyat and Kernaz, which had been launched by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its Turkish-backed allies in the morning of June 7.
According to pro-government sources, the SAA destroyed two suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (SVBIEDs) during the clashes in northern Hama. The army also killed several terrorists and captured others.
In another direction, the SAA recaptured the village of Tell Meleh, that fell into the hands of HTS and its allies a day earlier.
The Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) and the Russian Aerospace Forces played a key role in repelling the attack, despite the terrorists’ usage of man-portable air-defense systems (MANPADs).
The SAA is reportedly preparing to launch a further attack to recapture Jibeen. Once the town is recaptured, the HTS gains will be fully reversed.
