Recently, the situation in Syria and Iraq changed significantly.
As a result, some of SouthFront’s supporters and readers are asking: how this will impact the coverage provided by SouthFront? How will the informational agenda be changed? Will SouthFront stop providing coverage on Syria and Iraq? Will this impact SouthFront’s content?
Let us explain our vision of the situation.
SouthFront is not going to stop producing exclusive videos, maps and analyses. Unfortunately, the situation in the Middle East, including Syria, remains very complicated. Syria still has problems with various militant groups, especially in the Idlib province, which is de-facto controlled by al-Qaeda. In addition, tensions are smoldering between Turkey-led forces and Kurdish militias in the northern Syria and between the US-backed forces and pro-government forces in the Euphrates River Valley. ISIS cells are still very much alive across the country.
Outside of Syria, the entire Middle East is facing instability because of high tensions among the various powers involved in each of the local conflicts. Right now, there is a clear and present threat of a new conflict in the region involving Hezbollah and Israel. The US, Israel and Saudi Arabia are using warlike rhetoric against Iran. There are no signs that the situation is improving in Northern Africa, Central Asia and the Asia Pacific Region.
Outside of the Middle East, there are signs of growing internal tensions in the United States, the European Union and Russia. The world is facing significant global changes. Nobody can properly forecast to what result these global processes would lead but one thing is certain, SouthFront will be there to provide independent coverage of these events.
As you know, SouthFront originally started up to provide geo-political and military analysis and to address important issues, which were barely covered by the mainstream media. In our opinion, interests of transnational corporations and clans are behind the instability in many regions around the world. Unfortunately, as one conflict comes to an end, another one sparks, creating a need for independent geo-political and military analysis.
Currently, SouthFront produces over 900 content pieces per month. This number includes about 30 videos, including war reports and analyses and runs an extensive website, southfront.org. The amount of content produced with SouthFront’s minimum budget of 5,000 USD will remain the same. In fact, we will seek to produce more content and more analyses on various subjects in the coming months. In addition, more long documentaries can be expected in the near future. A 3-month long community guideline strike will be lifted, giving SouthFront the ability to host livestreams, once again. We are sure that all of this will be possible, thanks to your support.
At this important moment in time, SouthFront is opening its doors and invites all who have opinions or thoughts on geopolitical issues to join the project as contributors. SouthFront is ready to expand and to publish various opinions on the current events around the world.

SouthFront is a public analytical umbrella project maintained by a team of experts and volunteers from the four corners of the Earth. The project produces over 900 content pieces per month, including videos, maps, graphics, analyses and news articles.
The project budget (5,000 USD – minimum; 6,000 – optimal) is just a joke in comparison to the quality and number of produced content. SouthFront survives only thanks to lots of volunteer work made by various people around the world.
However, if you want to provide examples of projects, which produce comparable content with SouthFront’s budget, we will be glad to see them.

As a side issue, I have never understood why all the greatest independent media sites (of common goals) do not have 1 – just one crowdfunding site, or scheme to fund all sites at once to a varying degree of whatever you determine correct.

Currently the vast majority of content produced covers the conflict in Syria, giving some the impression that the Syrian conflict is the only reason SouthFront exists, and as the conflict winds down, so will SF’s content, this video is to remind everyone there is more going on in the world & other topics & hotspots will be covered in more detail as the Syrian situation cools.
