38 members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) were killed and 118 were detained in the past week, the Turkish Interior Ministry said in a statement on Monday.
The statement says that Turkish security forces carried out 483 counter-terrorist operations, killing 38 PKK members and detaining 118 PKK-linking suspects in the period between May 8 and May 15.
Turkish forces found 49 PKK hideouts in Bitlis, Diyarbakır, Mardin, Erzurum, Kahramanmaras, Sırnak, Siirt and Bingol provinces and destroyed 50 IEDs and mines, according to the statement. They also confiscated 2 tons of materials used to make explosives, 60 hand grenades and 170 weapons.
