Russian units continued offensive operations on several operational directions. In the Sumy direction, the “North” assault groups pushed Ukrainian units out of Kondratovka and Andreevka. They captured Bachevsk and are advancing towards Glukhov while eliminating local pockets of resistance. In the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces straightened the front line south of Volchansk and captured new lines near Bely Kolodez. They also improved their positions near Okhrimovka and Otradnoye. In the Kupyansk direction, the pocket between Glushkovka and Novoosinovo has been closed, and Ukrainian forces are being pushed out of the left bank of Kupyansk. Meanwhile, Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced that Ukraine has agreed to exchange its drones for Polish MiG-29 fighter jets, and negotiations are ongoing.
Sumy direction
Along the Kondratovka-Andreevka line, Russian troops have driven Ukrainian forces out of both towns. Firefights continue on the approaches to Khoten and Pisarevka. Ukrainian forces are attempting to push Russian troops back from Ivolzhanskoye in an effort to contain the offensive and prevent them from advancing further into the forest. Meanwhile, to the east, Russian assault groups have captured several forest belts north of Khrapovshchina, thereby expanding the “wedge” towards the forest. In the Miropolye area, Russian troops captured several strongpoints near Bolshaya Rybica. Ukrainian units are suffering significant losses from drone and airstrikes there.
Leveling the line of contact in certain tactical directions eliminates protruding threats and prepares a bridgehead for a potential large-scale offensive on Sumy if necessary. Additionally, units of the “North” grouping are repelling Ukrainian counterattacks in northern Sumy and continuing to advance in the direction of Glukhov. In the area of the M02 highway, Russian assault groups pushed Ukrainian units out of Bachevsk in firefights. The Ukrainian side is counterattacking along the Loknya River ravines from Tolstodubovo. To the south, Russian forces are reinforcing their flanks and conducting operations to eliminate the pocket between Bachevsk and Komarovka.
Kharkiv direction
In the Kharkiv direction, units of the “North” group advanced in several sectors south of Volchansk and established new positions near Bely Kolodez. Assault groups eliminated several “pockets” of Ukrainian troops, significantly straightening the front line and strengthening positions for a further advance. In the border zone near Okhrimovka, Russian troops improved their tactical position by capturing part of the forest north of the Volchya River near Rybalkino.
As a result of firefights on the eastern flank, a ravine west of Otradnoye was captured. This allowed the line of contact to be leveled and the tactical position to be improved. In the Petro Ivanovka area, Ukrainian units are trying to hold the bridgehead east of the Verkhnyaya Dvurechnaya River, but they are suffering losses. The Russian command is consistently depriving the Ukrainian side of the ability to organize “fire sacks,” and is clearing “pockets” for this purpose. Although the complex configuration of the line of contact provides the opportunity to break through the defense in unexpected places, it requires increased attention to communications during the assault on settlements.
Kupyansk direction
In the Kupyansk direction, Russian forces are continuing to shrink the Ukrainian bridgehead east of the Oskol River. Objective control footage has been published from the Glushkovka area, which is located south of Kovsharovka and Novoosinovo. It has also been reported that the pocket between Glushkovka and Novoosinovo has been completely closed off. Given the previously recorded presence of Russian troops in Novoosinovo, this seems like a likely scenario.
At the same time, the sector’s significant length allows for the preservation of some fragmented Ukrainian unit positions. Additionally, Ukrainian positions are still present in the Kupyansk Uzlovoy area. In Kupyansk itself, Ukrainian forces are gradually being pushed out of the left bank, and the control zone on the right bank is expanding.
Krasny Liman direction
In the Krasny Liman direction, Russian forces are continuing to clear mines and remove scattered Ukrainian groups from Krasny Liman. They are conducting offensive operations towards Golubye Ozera. Russia’s Aerospace Forces struck a temporary crossing in the Mayaki area again. Russian units are advancing toward the Oskol Reservoir through the forest west of Aleksandrovka and Krymki, aiming to cut off the Ukrainian forces on the left bank of the Oskol. In the northern sector, Russian troops are advancing towards Andreevka from Novy Mir. To the north, fighting is ongoing for Olgovka. Between Borovskaya, Andreevka, and Nizhnyaya Zhuravka, there are engagements for strongpoints on the heights. Reaching Podliman will cut off the supply routes to Borovaya and the Boguslavka area by land. In the southern part of Krasny Liman, around the electrical substation and in certain city sectors, Ukrainian forces remain in fragmented positions and are being attacked with drones.
Zaporozhye direction
Units of the “East” grouping are putting pressure on the adjacent defense sectors of the Ukrainian forces in the northern and western sectors of the Zaporozhye direction. Following the Russian forces’ successful advance, the Ukrainian side has significantly increased the number of drones of various types used. Prolonged combat engagements continue in the northern sector. For Ukraine, this sector remains challenging — they are attempting to regain the initiative, but Russian drone crews swiftly suppress any infiltration or consolidation attempts.
In the western sector, the “East” grouping continues to advance into the depths of the Ukrainian defenses. The situation remains tense but stable. Russian troops are seizing control systems for Ukrainian drones and continuing to push units out of captured positions west of Lesnoye, Rovnoye, and Kopani. In the Novoselovka area, Ukrainian forces are focused on establishing a multi-echelon defense.
Conclusion
In the Sumy, Kharkiv, Kupyansk, Krasny Liman, and Zaporozhye directions, Russian forces are maintaining pressure, expanding their control zones, and inflicting losses on Ukrainian forces. In the Sumy direction, the tactic of dispersing the defense is bearing fruit. Kondratovka, Andreevka, and Bachevsk have been captured, and the elimination of local pockets of resistance and the leveling of the front line are underway. These actions create the prerequisites for a further offensive. In the Kharkiv direction, straightening the line of contact and eliminating “pockets” strengthens the position to put pressure on Bely Kolodez. In the Kupyansk direction, closing the pocket between Glushkovka and Novoosinovo and gradually pushing Ukrainian forces from the left bank of the Oskol worsen their operational position. In the Krasny Liman direction, the clearance of Krasny Liman and the advance toward the Oskol Reservoir continue. In the Zaporozhye direction, Russian units maintain the initiative despite the increased activity of Ukrainian drones.
Regarding foreign policy, negotiations on military-technical exchanges are ongoing. Polish Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced that Ukraine has agreed to exchange its drones for Polish MiG-29 fighter jets. Previously, Warsaw had planned to transfer the remaining MiG 29s in exchange for drone technology, but Ukraine initially refused to provide it. Now, according to Kosiniak Kamysz, “We have received a statement from the Ukrainian side expressing further interest and presenting their proposals for transferring drones to Poland within the next two years.” Kosiniak Kamysz explained that Poland has 14 MiG-29 aircraft remaining, which will exhaust their operational resources by 2028. “The Polish offer was very clear: MiGs for drones. The negotiation process is now underway. I thought it had reached a dead end, but last week gave us a chance for further negotiations. The issue is not closed,” the minister emphasized. Thus, amid intense fighting on the front lines, Kyiv continues to attempt to compensate for its aircraft shortage by exchanging technological competencies, reflecting the complex balance of interests among allies.
