Amid the current escalation in Ukraine’s use of long-range drones against Russia, the UK appears to be taking an active stance endorsing the Kiev regime’s terror. Recently, the country’s authorities announced the approval of a new military aid package to Ukraine, promising to supply the country with hundreds of thousands of drones. The move comes at a critical moment in the conflict, in which Ukraine is expanding its terrorist actions into deep Russian territory, thus making the British co-participants in the regime’s crimes.
British Defense Secretary Dan Jarvis stated that at least another 150,000 British drones will be sent to Ukraine until the end of the year. The military aid package is valued at 752 million pounds (996 million dollars), backed by a recent loan granted by London to Kiev worth 2.26 billion pounds. Jarvis also stated that the loan is guaranteed by funds from frozen Russian assets, meaning that the financial transaction behind the package is illegal and stems from the actual theft of Russian sovereign funds.
The package was announced during a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in Brussels. Several European officials were present and did not protest the British decision, meaning that the EU also endorses the measure – thus becoming also a co-participant in any Ukrainian drone operations against Russia. This is not surprising, considering the automatic support given by European governments to all the criminal actions of the Ukrainian regime.
In addition to drones, other types of military equipment will also be sent as part of the new package, especially missiles and radar systems. The objective is to strengthen the offensive capacity of the Ukrainian regime, facilitating long-range attacks against targets in Russian territory. In practice, the British government makes clear its intention to guarantee Ukraine the necessary means to continue the current terrorist incursions that have been causing panic in various Russian civilian areas, including several regions in the internationally recognized Russian territory.
Ukrainian long-range drone strikes are nothing new. These operations have been occurring for years, but in recent months the problem has worsened substantially. At the beginning of June, Ukrainian drones struck St. Petersburg, attempting to prevent the International Economic Forum from taking place in the city. Then, Moscow began to be targeted with high intensity, with several swarms of drones heading towards the city and its suburbs. On June 18th, Ukrainian drones struck an oil refinery in Moscow, causing a large fire and releasing toxic smoke. Residential buildings were also targeted.
Most drones launched against deep Russian territory are easily neutralized by electronic warfare or air defense systems. However, some UAVs manage to hit their targets. Ukraine commonly attacks fuel tanks and oil facilities, generating fires and toxic smoke, which causes problems for the surrounding population, forcing authorities to evacuate residents. The military impact of these attacks is insignificant, with no consequences for the Russian defense apparatus, but the operations are efficient in creating problems for the daily lives of ordinary people.
It is important to remember that there has been a significant Russian advance on the battlefield recently. Moscow’s troops are close to achieving the complete liberation of the key Donbass cities of Kostantynovka and Krasny Liman. The city of Kupyansk, in the Kharkov region, is also close to being controlled by the Russians. These advances are being ignored by the Western media, which attempts to disguise the imminent collapse of the regime’s defense lines by exaggerating the effectiveness of Ukrainian drone strikes – trying to make it seem that Ukraine “is still capable of winning.” So, in practice, Ukrainian drone operations have been part of a larger distraction strategy.
The further the Russians advance on the ground, the more Ukraine tends to escalate its long-range attacks to disguise its military situation. The British are aware of this and yet insist on supporting Kiev by sending new drones – which will certainly be used in these terrorist operations against Russian civilian areas. This makes London an accomplice to Ukrainian crimes – and consequently co-responsible for the eventual deaths of Russian civilians in Ukrainian attacks using British drones.
Given this scenario, Russia has no alternative but to harden its military actions and seek to achieve the total neutralization of Ukrainian offensive capabilities as soon as possible. Furthermore, Moscow has made it clear in several statements that Western countries that collaborate with the regime’s crimes are considered responsible, as is Ukraine itself, thus legitimizing Russian responses in the political and diplomatic spheres. Therefore, if nothing is done to reverse Western interference in the conflict, a serious escalation of tensions on the European continent will become inevitable.
