18 Ukrainain servicemen have been killed and 20 others have been injured in the recent clashes in the area of Chigari near the city of Gorlovka in eastern Ukraine, Deputy Defense Minister of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Eduard Basurin said on May 22. Basurin added that 5 Ukrainian soldiers had been killed in the area of Gomovsky, also near Gorlovka.
Accordign to the DPR deputy defense minister, DPR forces destroyed a Ukrainian battle tank, a BMP armoured vehicle and a US-made counter-battery radar ANTPQ-48.
Basurin also said that 4 civilians had been injured, one DPR serviceman had been killed and two other had been injured as a result of the recent artillery strikes by the Ukrainian side. In the period from May 13 to 21, 4 four civilians were killed and eleven others were injured as a result of artillery strikes by pro-Kiev forces.
Good news from the Republics….. terrorist forces attacking civilians shown why it’s a bad idea and their fancy US toy destroyed makes it even better.

Short version Russians if they go to war they will go for their motherland and for Putin.
Western people if they go to war they go for the salary and because they are scared not to obey orders. I am sure if word goes to the nato soldiers that they going to war against russia you see many suicides among them and also AWOL, and Mexico will have thousands of recruits, as Canada had once during Vietnam war.
It’s about logistics. U.$. has to maintain 800+ military bases around the world. Russia does not (only 4 from memory). And all Russia’s bases are within ‘fast response’ zones (one hop in the logistics chain.) The U.$. has a massive supply chain to consider (which is one of the reasons they ‘lost’ a ‘trillion’ dollars in their logistics department.)
Not for long. Soon either they go where they come from or will be buried where they stand.
And no that is not the reason they lost not one trillion but many in a black hole. But that is another story and not of interest to me.

When people accept you as a leader because you proven yourself then yes you become in their mind synonymous with the motherland they assign you to protect and any cost, and will follow you and support you.

They have been in eastern Ukraine for some time now. How else could the DPR / LPR have defeated the Ukrainian army to date? Everyone knows it was Russian troops & direct fire support that won several major battles, which forced the Ukrainians to seek a ceasefire, followed by the Minsk agreements.
This is just MSM propaganda.
Do you really think a small group of separatists in the DPR and LPR could inflict severe defeats on the Ukrainian army like what happened in Debaltsevo? That was Russian “green men” using their vastly superior equipment, technology and training to wipe out complete columns of Ukronazi forces . .

The DPR and LPR separatists are not trying to attack and invade the Ukrainian lands. It is the Ukrainian military that is trying to invade the DPR and LPR areas of control. These are areas that were covered by the Minsk agreements and there was supposed to be a buffer zone there, which the Ukronazis have just crossed. Are the separatists supposed to just lie down and allow the army free entry? There would be many repeats of the Odessa massacre . .
That’s like saying either Eretria nor Ethiopia have no aggressive intentions for each other. This state of war continues because it already exists and peoples reactions to the conflict only serve to continue the conflict. For instance, you are inciting the Dombassers to take aggressive actions, albeit in reaction to other side’s actions. This is the behavior that can build up and create a social phenomena known as war.

It is obvious from the title that is at the very least a one sided account, I haven’t watched it. I am familiar with the war, I’ve read considerably because at first I was bewildered by the nature of the war and my opinions have changed over time. Don’t assume that if someone disagrees with you that they are ignorant or malicious.
It is fairly one-sided, as you say and the separatists are definitely not angels. But it does expose the hypocrisy of the supra-regional players involved. For instance, they amputated Kosovo from Serbia (by NATO military force), because the Kosovars didn’t want to be a part of the then Serbia, but they will not allow the DPR and LPR to do the same. It’s all politics and part of the East vs West proxy struggle . .
