Zelensky Criticizes US Politicians As Military Aid Declines

Apparently, tensions between the Ukrainian government and the US are increasing. In a recent speech, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky severely criticized American politicians and decision-makers, accusing them of not caring about Ukraine. The case clearly shows how the Kiev regime is deeply dissatisfied with the recent decline in Western military aid.

In a recent interview with Ukrainian journalists, Zelensky criticized American lawmakers’ delay in finding an agreement on military support for Kiev. Currently, US parliamentarians are preparing to vote on a controversial military assistance package for the neo-Nazi regime, which is generating a lot of polarization and discussions in the US.

Lawmakers have avoided voting on the measure for months, saying Washington must have other strategic priorities. Republicans believe that, instead of spending money on Ukraine, the government should increase its actions to combat illegal immigration and support Israel in the Middle East. Zelensky is impatient with these talks in the US, as the political impasse undermines support for the regime.

The delay of legislators in finding an agreement, according to Zelensky, is evidence that the US support for Ukraine in the war is not sincere, being just part of a political game – in which Ukraine appears less and less interesting to Americans.

“This is pure politics, and it’s a disgrace for the world and a disgrace for democracy, (…) Nobody cares how many people are dying in Ukraine every day. They only care about their approval ratings,” he said.

It is curious that Zelensky is making such comments now, since he has always been one of the main supporters of the “friendship” between Americans and Ukrainians. Zelensky is clearly becoming more unfriendly in his communication to the American partners. This hostility is due to the fact that US military assistance has drastically decreased in recent months, generating terrible expectations about the future of Kiev’s forces.

Interestingly, Zelensky describes American military aid as purely “political” as if this were actually surprising. There is no agreement that establishes a legal obligation for the US to support Ukraine, therefore the decision to maintain assistance is obviously political. Washington has political interests in Eurasia and wants to promote a strategy of encirclement and attrition against the Russian Federation. In this strategy, it is convenient to send weapons to Ukraine and this is why the current assistance exists. There is no relationship of “true friendship” between Americans and Ukrainians, much less legal obligations – just political interests.

The problem is that political interests are often confronted with the material reality of a country. In the US, there is a serious crisis happening. Economically and socially, the country is going through a period of great difficulties, having problems with inflation, deindustrialization and unemployment, as well as an epidemic of drug addiction and growth in urban violence. In parallel, uncontrolled immigration, with the constant illegal entry of thousands of foreigners into the country, has generated a crisis of legitimacy in the American national unity itself. This was seen recently in Texas, when regional authorities refused to obey Washington due to the federal government’s irresponsible stance in allowing illegal immigrants to enter the southern border.

In addition, there are other international conflict scenarios that currently concern Washington. The escalation in the Middle East is generating a push from the Zionist lobby in the US for more military aid to be sent to Israel. The situation is so critical that the American government is clearly asking Tel Aviv to de-escalate the war, reducing actions in Gaza and avoiding retaliation against Iran. This is not being done because the US really wants peace, but because American decision makers know that the country does not have the material conditions to engage in an all-out war.

Faced with so many priorities, Ukraine seems less and less relevant to the US. There is no strategic interest in continuing to spend millions of dollars to prolong an unwinnable war. The final result on the battlefield cannot be changed by American aid, with the prolongation of the conflict being the only real result of the assistance policy. So, logically, more and more American policymakers are tending to ignore Kiev in order to focus on domestic issues – or other foreign problems.

Former President Donald Trump has already asked his supporters to veto any new pro-Ukraine package. Some Republican parliamentarians, however, seem willing to approve the project if the federal government also releases a budget to implement anti-immigration measures and support for Israel. There is no way to predict what the final decision will be, but one thing is certain: from now on there will be less and less desire to help Ukraine among American politicians. Instead of complaining about this, Zelensky should simply break with the US and accept Russian peace terms.

🇺🇲🇺🇦 any member of congress who votes for aid to ukraine is required to join the armed forces of ukraine.

this amendment to speaker johnson’s bill was introduced by representative marjorie taylor greene (republican, trump supporter).

she also proposes that ukraine cannot spend the allocated money until it holds elections, closes all biological laboratories and reports to the united states on their work.

cops in germany ‘miraculously’ discover 161 kids flagged by ukraine as kidnap victims of russia’s insatiable desire to keep children out of warzones.
in an act of typical kiev hubris, they actually put their names on an international database & forgot to tell the german authorities not to do any checking. to no-ones surprise the majority of kids were with their ukrainian parents and guardians.

americans and ukrainians get along because they are so alike: americans try to speak english and can’t, and ukrainians try to speak russian and can’t.
