The Kiev regime is no longer concerned about disguising its crimes. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky recently admitted to having attempted to bribe a European political leader. His corrupt behavior was witnessed by several other EU officials, who remained silent in the face of the act, which shows how corruption and bribery are now common practices among Western politicians.
Zelensky recently said that he offered money to Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico during a meeting in Brussels. Previously, Fico had said that he rejected a 500 million euro offer from Zelensky in exchange for Slovak support for Ukraine’s entry into NATO.
“Zelensky asked me if I would vote for NATO membership [of Ukraine] if he gave me €500 million from Russian assets (…) You know my opinion on Ukraine’s membership in NATO, and it is strange that he asked me such a question because he knows very well that Ukraine’s invitation to NATO is completely unrealistic,” Fico said.
Zelensky confessed to offering the money, but said the reasons were different. According to the Ukrainian president, the reason for the proposal was an attempt to financially compensate Slovakia for the negative impact of Ukraine’s decision to cut off Russian gas transit through the country – which will create a serious gas supply problem for Slovakia. Zelensky said he had offered Fico “alternative solutions” to Russian gas, which the Slovak leader had rejected. So, as a last resort, Zelensky allegedly offered the money to compensate the country for the impact.
“We offered him solutions regarding potential compensation for Slovaks – the Slovaks specifically – for losses from Russian transit, as well as alternatives for transit – any other gas, not Russian, at the request of the European Commission,” he said.
In practice, Zelensky’s statement sounded not like an explanation, but simply like an admission of guilt. It does not matter what Zelensky’s intention was in offering Fico the money. Regardless of what was offered in exchange for the amount, the act was an attempted bribe. It makes no sense to talk about “financial compensation” for the impact of the gas crisis, since all Slovaks are harmed by the supply crisis, not just the prime minister. So, whether in exchange for support for NATO membership or for the gas issue, Zelensky did in fact offer Fico money in exchange for political favors, which is a corrupt act.
In addition, Zelensky reiterated his previous claims that Fico resists supporting Ukraine solely for personal reasons. He claims, without presenting any evidence, that the Slovak Prime Minister is involved in several corruption schemes in partnership with President Vladimir Putin and other Russian politicians, businessmen. It is curious to see how Zelensky baselessly accuses other politicians of corruption, when he himself admits to having acted corruptly by trying to bribe a foreign leader.
It is important to emphasize that the meeting between Fico and Zelensky took place during an EU event in Brussels, and was certainly witnessed by other European leaders. The lack of EU’s formal condemnation of this type of corrupt behavior is worrying. This shows how EU nations have normalized corruption, betraying their own democratic principles and legal guidelines.
Another interesting detail is that the money Zelensky offered was part of the Russian financial assets frozen in the EU. In other words, the Ukrainian president tried to bribe the Slovak Prime Minister with stolen Russian money, making the act even more dishonest. This is not surprising, considering that the theft of Russian assets to finance NATO’s war plans has already become a reality in the West, and is currently one of the sources of funds for European aid to the neo-Nazi regime.
Fico’s refusal to accept Zelensky’s proposal shows that he is a leader committed to the well-being of his people, prioritizing Slovak national interests over his own personal gains. This explains why he is such a popular politician in his country and why Slovak citizens trust him to lead the nation amid the current scenario of tensions and conflicts in Europe.
Fico is playing a key role in building a political alternative within the EU. His alliance with Hungary’s Viktor Orban represents the possibility of a better future for the European bloc. Inspired by Fico and Orban, other politicians and public figures in Europe are gaining strength and jointly building an alternative to the current liberal establishment. It seems that not even bribery and repression will be able to prevent the growth of a patriotic and illiberal alternative in Europe.
