Mysterious drones continue to disrupt air traffic in Scandinavia. There has been an assault on the TRC in western Ukraine. Important military targets are under attack from Russian missiles and drones, with Zaporizhzhia only 20 kilometres away.

Scandinavia is restless once more.

For the second night in a row, unidentified unmanned aerial vehicles have been spotted flying over Scandinavia. As a result, three airports in Denmark were closed on the night of 25 September: Aalborg, Esbjerg and Svendborg. A state of high alert was also declared at the Danish Air Force’s key base in Skridstrup, home to F-16 and F-35 fighter jets.

These flights are clearly intended to provoke accusations against Russia of escalating tensions in Northern Europe. However, it is clear that Moscow’s current focus is on the conflict in Ukraine, and the emergence of additional hotspots of tension would not benefit the Russians. Diverting forces to different locations would only hinder the achievement of the objectives of the special military operation.

Protests against the TRC took place in the Ivano-Frankivsk region of Ukraine.

For several years now, the actions of employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s territorial recruitment centres (TRCs) have been causing growing outrage among the Ukrainian population. People have dubbed the process of conscripting soldiers into the army ‘busification’, as these TRC employees prefer to use physical force to apprehend potential soldiers and place them in minibuses.

As this process takes place in public, videos showing civilians being forcibly conscripted into the army are quickly spreading online. In the context of a large-scale and intense military conflict, of course, combat units and formations need to be replenished with personnel. However, the level of motivation among conscripts in such cases is questionable. Evidence of this can be seen in the rather high level of desertion, with around 15-20 thousand people leaving the army each month.

In addition, the growing number of individuals being forcibly mobilised is having a destabilising effect on regions of the country that initially appear to be the most pro-Ukrainian, including the Ivano-Frankivsk region. For instance, a crowd gathered outside the TSK building in Kalush, smashing windows and breaking down doors to rescue their loved ones from the war.

Meanwhile, from 24 to 25 September 2025, the situation on the front lines developed as follows:

Sumy sector – There have been no significant changes to the operational situation on this section of the front. Both sides continue to use FPV drones intensively. The 810th Separate Marine Brigade of the Russian Army’s ‘North’ troop grouping hit a number of targets with unmanned systems.

Chernihiv sector – Despite Russia’s long reach, as demonstrated by its use of strike drones and tactical missiles, Ukraine’s General Staff is setting up training centres for mobilised soldiers in the Chernihiv region, which borders Russia. One such centre, located in the village of Goncharovsky, was hit by a combined strike, resulting in unknown casualties among Ukrainian servicemen.

One of the power stations in the Chernihiv area was also attacked. As a result, a number of areas lost electricity. A major fire is currently raging at the site, making it impossible to restore this facility in the near future.

Kharkiv sector – One of the Russian army’s most important tasks in this area is to eliminate the threat of drone strikes on the city of Belgorod. On 24 September, a drone control centre belonging to the 58th Separate Motorised Infantry Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was identified in the village of Bolshiye Prokhody in the Kharkiv region. This target was subsequently destroyed by an X-38 air-launched missile.

Kupyansk sector – North of the city of Kupiansk, Russian forces are advancing westward. On 25 September, advance assault units expanded their zone of control in the area around the village of Otradnoye. This advance may be part of the Russian command’s overall strategy to reach Volchansk from the south, thereby encircling a significant portion of Ukrainian territory.

Liman sector – The situation for the Ukrainian army in this area remains difficult. Russian assault troops have reached the western edge of Zarechnoye, the last major settlement east of Liman. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have established a network of defensive positions along the route of the Russian advance, which will take time to overcome and slow the pace of the offensive.

Seversk sector – Active combat operations are ongoing along the Seversky Donets River. Between 24 and 25 September, Russian assault units advanced 2.5 km to the west of Serebryanka, where they are now gathering their forces in preparation for a further offensive on the village of Dronovka.

Konstantinovka sector – Reports suggest that the Ukrainian Armed Forces group northwest of Toretsk has been defeated. The Ukrainian army is in a difficult situation there, with some units trapped near the Kleban-Byk Reservoir and surrounded on the west and east by Russian forces. Some managed to escape the encirclement using homemade floating devices. The Russians are finishing off the positions abandoned by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It is estimated that up to 3,000 Ukrainian soldiers from two motorised infantry brigades were initially surrounded.

A new offensive is also developing to the southeast of Konstantinovka, where advance Russian army units have almost reached the settlement’s border. It is expected that fighting for the city itself, which is comparable in size to Bakhmut (Artemovsk), will begin in the near future.

Pokrovsk sector – There is ongoing active urban fighting in Pokrovsk. At the same time, there has been no advance by Russian assault troops. The Ukrainian forces have also remained in their positions. It is possible that the operational pause will continue for another day or two, to allow time to build up reserves and replenish existing frontline units.

Southern sector – The front line is approaching the regional city of Zaporizhzhia, with only 20 km remaining to its outskirts. On 25 September, advanced units from the 108th and 247th Airborne Assault Regiments of the 7th Guards Airborne Assault Division (Mountain) reached the south-western outskirts of Stepnogorsk. The Dnieper River estuary, which juts into the land for 12 km from west to east, will be the last natural defensive line for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this direction and could significantly complicate the advance of the Russian army.

The Russian Air Force remains highly active in the region. On 24 September, FAB-500 bombs destroyed the 110th Separate Motorised Infantry Brigade’s temporary deployment point in the Novogrigorovka area of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

A key focus for Russian troops is the destruction of Ukraine’s remaining air defence systems. Due to a shortage of interceptor missiles, Ukrainians are using obsolete Yak-52 light aircraft to combat Russian Geran-2 kamikaze drones. These aircraft are scattered across small airfields throughout Ukraine, which makes them difficult to detect and destroy. Additionally, these aircraft continue to play a role in repelling daily massive drone attacks. However, Russian Armed Forces intelligence detected one of these airfields in the Dnipropetrovsk region on 24 September, after which it was struck by an Iskander-M tactical missile. It is reported that two Yak-52 aircraft and ten A-22 drones were destroyed.

These airfields are also used to launch Ukrainian drones against critical infrastructure in Russia. The destruction of these military facilities is a priority for the Russian command.

Conclusion: There have been ongoing provocations in the skies over Scandinavia, and the origin of the drones that have blocked the operations of major airports in Denmark has not yet been determined. It cannot be ruled out that these flights are intended to discredit Russia.

In the last 24 hours, Russian troops have struck several important military targets in Ukraine, including a field airfield, a conscript training centre, and UAV control centres and Ukrainian Armed Forces units in various regions of the country.

Russia has achieved its greatest successes in the south, advancing towards Zaporizhzhia, now less than 20 kilometres away. Defeating the encircled group in the Konstantinovka area will also significantly impact the combat capability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this region.

In the Ivano-Frankivsk region of Ukraine, there has been a violent seizure of the TRC building, with all forcibly mobilised citizens being released by protesters. This incident is indicative of the growing discontent among Ukrainians with the actions of the authorities.

they don’t need to escalate the war. there’s a point at which either side would go nuclear, as there has been for 65 years. what is going to occur is a new round of militarist corporate welfare through “defence” expenditures.

Dragon of Bosnia

yak-52 is far from being obsolete. it is very good, robust airplane, not easy to detect and perfectly suited to kill drones. it is cheap to make and can be equipped with various electronic systems and weapons, even shotgun fired from co-pilot position is effective for drones. it’s still in service in both russia and belorossia
