YPG and SDF capture Mennagh Military Airport in northern Aleppo

It is reported by several Kurdish social media activists that the YPG (the People’s Protection Units) backed by SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) fighters seized the strategic Mennagh Military Airport in northern Aleppo after a violent fight with the terrorists of Ahrar Al-Sham,  Free Syrian Army (FSA), and Jabhat Al-Shamiyah.

Several terrorist social media activists confirmed the complete withdrawal of their forces from the primary base and its nearby villages.

That seize is significant because it can create enormous trouble for the terrorists in northern Aleppo, as terrorists will be forced to flee from their stronghold of ‘Azaz near the Turkish border-crossing.

According to some military strategists, by taking that military airport the YPG and SDF will be able to launch attacks against terrorists from two different sides in northern Aleppo.

It is also reported on Tuesday that the Russian Aerospace Defense Forces led the airstrikes over the Mennagh Military Airport as the US led coalition sat out of this offensive in order to avoid political conflict with the Turkish regime.
