On November 11, the Armed Forces of Ukraine committed another war crime by blowing up the Ternovskaya dam of the Kurakhovsky reservoir. The damaged dam was located in the village of Stary Terny, which is under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. LINK

Kiev accused the Russian military of destroying the Ternovskaya dam. Some Ukrainian officials said that it was blown up by a sabotage group that reached Ukrainian rear, others said that the dam was destroyed by Russian missiles.

A few days after the incident, Ukrainian national media showed footage of the explosion on the dam filmed by a Ukrainian drone. The video was accompanied by more unfounded accusations against the Russian military, but in fact it became another evidence confirming that the Kiev regime was behind the operation.

The filmed moment of the explosion shows that the operation was carefully planned, and the Ukrainian militar coordinated the explosions from the air with a drone, which filmed the explosion. The shooting is focus on the dam, that is, the operator knew in advance about the impending explosion.

The footage shows that the explosive devices were placed with maximum accuracy on the locks, which indicates detailed preparation to achieve maximum destruction.

The published video does not show either the strike of a missile or the impact of an artillery shell, which excludes Russian attack. This is also confirmed by the localization of the explosion and its power.

The video even shows Ukrainian servicemen who hid near the dam and ran out of their hideout immediately after the threat of being wounded passed. This confirms that they knew about the upcoming explosion. And if one believes Ukrainian propaganda, they would definitely have noticed a Russian sabotage group planting explosives around the corner. Probably these people are the very Ukrainian sappers, who carried out the operation and mined the dam.

Considering that the dam is under the full control of the Ukrainian army, there is no doubt about the culprit.

Objective control videos were filmed a day after the explosion by a Russian drone. They clearly showed the installation sites of Ukrainian explosive devices. The dam was not completely destroyed but it was damaged.

The explosion of the Ternovskaya dam in Kurakhovo was a planned operation carried out by units of the 35th Separate Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ukrainian propaganda claims that the Russians blew up the dam in order to disrupt the supply of the Ukrainian group in Kurakhovo. In fact, there was no global water spill because the dam was not completely destroyed. Videos of the Ukrainian military confirm that their military equipment, supply vehicles and even civilian SUVs continue to drive on roads in the Constantinople area. The Ukrainian military logistics encountered only minor difficulties, but was not disrupted.

The tactical goal of the Ukrainian operation was to slow down the advance of the Russian army on the northern flank of the Kurakhovo direction and delay the encirclement of the city. The destruction of the dam and the subsequent undermining of bridges over the overflowing river will significantly complicate the crossing of Russian forces from the north bank to the south not only in the coming days, but also for several weeks until the riverbed returns to normal and the soil becomes stronger. This time is so necessary for the Ukrainian military to launch rotation of its forces in the Kurakhovo area.

The dam itself no longer mattered to the Ukrainian military, because Ukrainian forces could not safely move along the road on it. Russian forces are approaching the village of Stary Terny and in the assault may begin in the coming days. The village itself and the roads nearby are already under Russian fire control. Therefore, the destruction of the dam took place in advance, while the Ukrainian military still has access to it.

The explosion of such a scale is a deliberate act of terrorism by the extremely cynical Kiev regime with significant consequences for the entire region. The Ukrainian military uses civilian infrastructure and holds civilians hostage to its strategic decisions. The destruction of the dam has significantly increased the risks of repeated floods in rainy winter, flooding of residential areas, farmland and infrastructure in a large area. Residents of dozens of villages in the eastern part of Ukraine found themselves on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe. In a military conflict, their access to clean water, electricity and food can be disrupted at any time.

In addition to the humanitarian and environmental disaster, the Ukrainian military received only tactical benefits and approval from their foreign patrons. The main goal of the terrorist regime, which is under full control of the West, is to inflict maximum damage on Russia not only in bloody battles, through sanctions in economic confrontation, and strikes deep into Russian territory. The Ukrainian army has been ordered to leave only ruins behind it, which Moscow will have to restore. That is why, from the very beginning of the Russian Special Military Operation, Ukrainian soldiers have been hiding in large industrial cities like Bkahmut, Ugledar, Avdeevka, Mariupol, which was full of civilians at that time, and doomed to failure they still continue street fighting, turning cities into ruins, destroying the entire industrial infrastructure. That is why Kiev ruthlessly destroys dams and huge hydroelectric constructions one by one.

  • In addition to the Ternovskaya dam, Kiev destroyed the Kakhovka dam in March 2023, which is considered the largest man-made disaster in the country since Chernobyl. LINK, LINK, LINK
  • In March 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a dam on the Irpen River near the village of Kozarovichi in the Kiev region. Having flooded 3,000 hectares, the Ukrainian military tried to impede the Russian offensive on the capital.
  • In February 2023, the Armed Forces of Ukraine undermined the dam of the Severny Stavok reservoir in the area of Artemovsk (former Bakhmut), but they failed to slow down the advance of the Russian Wagner forces.
  • In May 2024, the dam of the Karlov Reservoir was destroyed in an attempt to delay the encirclement of Avdeevka.

Kiev has never admitted its guilt.

Unlike after its crimes at the beginning of the conflict, today, after the destruction of the Ternovskaya dam, Kiev shows its particular negligence in propaganda. After just a few official statements and banal accusations a couple of days after the disaster, the Ukrainian media and the MSM have already forgotten about the destruction of the extremely expensive hydraulic structure. There are no cries of Ukrainian officials heard on every corner, and Ukrainian media themselves publish videos debunking their brazen lies.

In fact, after so many crimes and failed attempts to hide their guilt behind the “terrible Russians”, Kiev and Ukrainian propaganda have lost the public trust and interest of their audience abroad, and it has long been obvious that Zelensky and his complaints have absolutely no influence on the decisions of his Western patrons, while the West just turns a blind eye and hides all the crimes of the Kiev regime.

The tears of the Kiev elite over the destroyed dam cause no pity even among the remaining population of Ukraine, because during the existence of the independent state of Ukraine they have not built a single dam. All strategically important hydraulic structures on the territory of Ukraine were built by the joint efforts of the Soviet people. After that, for decades, the entire infrastructure only fell into disrepair. Therefore, today the people in power in Kiev cynically and without regret destroy everything, leaving only ruins. The statements of the Ukrainian leaders about their hope for the return of the lost territories are nothing but an empty lie. Trying its best to please its patrons, the Kiev regime leaves behind only an empty burnt oil.
