War In Ukraine Day 11: Russia Works To Encircle Kyiv Forces In Donetsk Region Amid Operational Pause In North Of Ukraine

The eleventh day of the conflict were marked by a new round of efforts by Russia, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics to evacuate civilians from Mariupol, Volnovakha and their surroundings in Donetsk Region.

Mariupol and Volnovakha remain the key strongholds of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this region, Mariupol is fully surrounded by units of the Russian Armed Forces and people’s militia of Donbas, while Volnovakha remains blocked from the south, east and west. The northern route from Volnovakha remains under fire control of Russian forces.

On March 5, Russia already announced a one day ceasefire regime allowing local residents to withdraw via humanitarian corridors agreed with the Kyiv side during the second round of talks in Belarus. Nonetheless, the evacuation via the opened route Mariupol–Nikolskoye–Rozovka–Polohy–Orekhov–Zaporizhzhya was sabotaged by Kyiv. Units of the Ukrainian Army and nationalist battalions did not allow civilians to leave the combat zone. Representatives of the Kyiv administration in the region denied the evacuation under pretext of alleged ceasefire violations by the Russians. At the same time, Ukrainian forces opened fire at civilians that tried to leave Mariupol and Volonvakha towards the territory controlled by Russia and the DPR. In the evening, when the ceasefire time ended, clashes in the area resumed.

On March 6, Russian forces and people’s militias once again made a one more attempt to evacuate civilians. The situation with the Mariupol–Nikolskoye–Rozovka–Polohy–Orekhov–Zaporizhzhya corridor once again repeated. Russia and the DPR announced the one-day ceasefire to allow local residents to leave. In own turn, units of the Ukrainian Army and nationalist battalions sabotaged the withdrawal of civilians via the humanitarian corridor.

Local sources report that shelling by Ukrainian forces led to casualties among the evacuated civilians. At least several people were reportedly killed.

However, the DPR reported that despite provocations of the Kyiv side its forces were able to secure the evacuation of over 300 civilians towards the DPR-controlled territory.

In the evening, active offensive operations of the joint forces of Russia and people’s militia were resumed.

The offensive operation near Mariupol:

In the direction of Mariupol city, Russian and DPR units are now advancing from the northern and eastern directions. Earlier they secured Stary Krym settlement in the northern suburb of the city. Clashes were also reported around Sartana settlement located northeast of Mariupol.

Intense clashes have been ongoing in Volnovakha. According to reports, the strong point currently has a contested status. The southern part of it remains in the hands of DPR units that work to eliminate fortified positions of the Ukrainian Army and nationalist battalions in the rest of it.

The third direction of the advance in this area of operations is the town of Gulyaipole and surrounding settlements. In the evening of March 6, forward units of the Russian Armed Forces reportedly entered the town from the southern direction after a series of artillery strikes on military objects and positions of the Ukrainian Army and nationalist battalions. Russian units also reportedly entered the nearby villages of Orekhovo and Vasilievka to the west of Gulyaipole. Nonetheless, no intense fighting was reported there as of the night of March 6.

If the Russians are able to secure these gains, this will become another success in the operation to deny the ability of Kyiv forces that remain on the positions west and southwest of Donetsk city to withdraw towards Zaporizhzhya.

In the larger perspective, joint forces of Russia, the LPR and DPR work to isolate the group of forces of the Ukrainian Army in the region of Donbas. Therefore, it is possible to expect the push to cut off the road to Dnipro from the northern direction also.

In the sector of the advance of the Russian Armed Forces and units of the Lugansk People’s Republic, Izum, Severodonetsk and Lysichansk are among the hottest points of the frontline where well fortified positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are located. On March 6, a new round of clashes took place around Izum. The group of forces advancing there work to secure this point before an expected push towards the south to isolate Slavyansk and Kramatorsk from the western direction.

According to reports by the DPR and LPR, in the recent series of advances in the region of Donbas, they were able to liberate over 100 settlements. 62 settlements were took back by LPR forces, while 45 others were taken by DPR forces.

In the sector of Mykolaiv city in the area of operations on the western bank of Dnipro river, Russian forces suffered tactical setbacks. Russian units retreated from the villages of Bashtanka, Piskik and Marianivka located northeast of Mykolaiv. The situation around Peresadivka in the nearby area remains unclear. The Russians lost a unit with D-30 artillery guns during clashes in that areas.

Mykolaiv authorities loyal to the Kyiv government claimed that on March 6 two Russian warplanes were downed in the region.

As of the night of March 6, video evidence from the ground demonstrate that the city of Mykolaiv is not blocked from the eastern and southeastern directions. Russian units control the area southeast of it.

The Kyiv government and its special services try to destabilize the situation in the areas controlled by Russian forces in Kherson Region (north of Crimea) by organizing protests against the presence of Russian forces there. Low-scale protests were reported in Novaya Kahovka, Kherson and Melitopol. Despite the low number of persons that participated in these protests, they still remain a destabilizing factor in the area. Especially taking into account that some of the protestors tried to stage provocations and sabotage the delivery of humanitarian aid to local residents.

In Kharkiv Region, the advancing group of Russian forces got stuck near the regional capital. Kharkiv city remains not blocked from the southern and western directions. Clashes were reported in its northern and northeastern outskirts. On March 6, the Russian military made no attempts to storm the city and as of now it seems that Russian forces took an operational pause there before a new push to block it. In the current situation, the Russian Armed Forces deliver regular strikes aimed at destroying military infrastructure and fortified positions of the Ukrainian Army and nationalist battalions there. Kyiv forces use this time to create new positions in residential areas and prepare to repel the possible storm of the city.

Ukrainian sources also claimed that a Russian warplane was downed in the area.

A destroyed Ukrainian battle tank near Kharkiv:

In Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the situation remained relatively same on March 6. The Russians blocked both regional capitals and are now consolidating their gains in the area. Meanwhile, the forward group of Russian forces continue to deploy in the eastern and northeastern countryside of Kyiv in order to cut off the potential arrival of forces from Kharkiv.

The Ukrainian capital remains blocked from the northeastern and northwestern directions. Russian forces have conducted no attempts to storm the city. Despite this, Kyiv is in a total chaos. Local authorities regularly report about the fighting in its outskirts and announce dozens of ‘Russian saboteurs’ captured. In fact, these people are victims of gangs armed by local authorities under pretext of creating ‘territorial defense units’ that also often clash each with others.

Amid these developments, the Russian Armed Forces delivered a new round of missile strikes on military infrastructure all around Ukraine. In particular, a powerful strike hit the Gavrishovka military airfield in Vinnitsa.

The Russian military reported that 11 military aircraft and 2 helicopters of the Ukrainian Air Force were downed on March 5 and March 6.

As of 2021, the Ukrainian Air Force officially had the following warplanes: 26 Su-27 fighters, 16 MiG-29s, 12 Su-24 bombers and 13 Su-25 attack aircraft.

Furthermore, the Russian military warned NATO member states that the usage of their airfield network by Ukrainian military aviation can be regarded as the involvement of these states in the armed conflict. The warning came amid a new round of speculations that some Western states may ‘donate’ warplanes to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

On top of this, the Russian military announced that as a part of the demilitarization of Ukraine it will deliver strikes on objects of the military industrial complex of the country. The Russians advised people to avoid these objects to minimize possible casualties.

The Russian Defense Ministry also announced that it had obtained information about the military biological program of the Kyiv government that was supported by the United States.

“We have received documentation from employees of Ukrainian biolaboratories on the urgent destruction on February 24 of especially dangerous pathogens of plague, anthrax, tularemia, cholera and other deadly diseases.”

“The received documents confirm that the development of biological weapons components was carried out in the Ukrainian biolaboratories, in the immediate vicinity of the territory of Russia.”

The documents were released by the Russian Defense Ministry via Russian media. LINK

Earlier, reports appeared that Ukraine was covertly developing nuclear weapons and was close to obtaining them before the start of the Russian military operation.

The developments of the recent days confirm that Russian forces took a tactical pause in their operations in the north and northeast of Ukraine, while most of active military actions were observed in the south and east of the country. According to reports, Russia is currently deploying reinforcements to the critical parts of the frontline in Kharkiv region and around Kyiv. At the same time, successes in the region of Donbas create conditions for the full elimination of Kyiv forces there and thus the further development of the offensive on the eastern bank of Dnipro River.

Russia’s downside is they have to rely on ground attack aircraft like the su-24 and su-25 which makes them vulnerable to portable manpads, They should have built hundreds of Orion drones for this operation, thus, avoiding using jets. Also something I noticed is they just send choppers over contested enemy lines without scrutinizing the area again Russia has just executed this badly and it’s quite disappointment since they use different tactics in Syria where they succeeded also Russia reluctance to use their strategic bombers is also surprising. Hope they overcome their weaknesses and start taking this seriously otherwise this is going to be dragged longer than expected.

Universal Order

What does this tell us? There was no strategy. There were never any plans and the command structure is complete chaos. They actually sent a bunch of kids there on day 1 who were told it was a drill, I guess they expected a quick surrender from Ukraine and there was no plan B, hence the logistical disaster…

Clyde

What an infantile statement. These kids, did they come from Mars, with no understanding of the situation that has existed for eight years?

JayTe

You obviously don’t understand anything about how the Russian military functions. Think “cauldrons” and then review how the Russian military operated in Chechnya and Syria and you will understand everything that you need to know about what they are doing.

Johan

Russian army= don’t think human just think canon meat and call the ones you shoot nazis. In all wars Russia and Ussr used his soldiers as expendable mass to be killed, because they have so many, and then the enemy would loss because of lack on ammunition. It worked until now. We let them fight and wait until they are weakened. Because of hunger and lack of Western components it will be hard to produce sophisticated armoury and tension in Russia will grow.

Michel LeBlanc

What kind pf morronic new york times fantasy crap did you wrote there?

Soviet arsenals are limitless, parts and ammo.

Russia has EVERYTHING, dont you get it idiot, its the west comitting economic suicide not russia.

Dan

Exactly. These morons can only think on the surface level. Russia is decoupling itself from the Western economic system.

James Brown

It worked against the German Wehrmacht. Not least because Soviets learnt the pincer and cauldron field maneuvers from the Wehrmacht. The united western European allies got trounced by the Wehrmacht’s pincer and cauldron field maneuvers in France in all of six weeks. The Soviets survived the first Wehrmacht offensive onslaught, and in time learnt to emulate the same pincer and cauldron field strategies, and eventually reversed the fronts, and overran Berlin single handed. It works.

I suspect that the Wehrmacht were using tactics first employed by Friedrich the Great, Napoleon and Kutuzov. Not that much change in ground warfare.

platon

Russophobic nonsense.

Corrupt Shithole of Ukropisstan

A bunch of kids destroyed 98% of the Ukrainian military infrastructure….
Try again…

Siriusthecat

He’s talking about the pows the daily mail posted pictures of and videos of them crying for their mommies. They certainly don’t seem legitimate, but it’s spread throughout MSM fake news anyways.

Johan

Every country until know learned the hard way that; when the population is against the “liberator” they can not win a guerrilla war. Remember ; Angolan civil war, Spanish civil war, Estonian-, Latvian-, lithuanian war, Finland war, Afghanistan, Chechen first war,it only won the second after it destroyed every one and everything by bombing from a distance and murdering. There is no honour in that. But now russia has, with exception of its cruise-missiles no guided weapons, planes have to get near and low and so they can be shot easilier as we see in Ukraine they lost aprox. 40 planes and 44 helicopters.

platon

Ukrainians, since 2014 (known as South or ‘Small’ Russians since 1086 AD), have been fed a propaganda diet cooked up by Russophobe Germans and Jews.
A mere eight years has been intense lying, social engineering and propaganda.
It will not take long for them to snap out of their trance.
Like that great scene in the Wizard of Oz when water is thrown at the witch and she melts. The Winged Creatures instantly snap out of the spell they were under.
It will be that way with the so-called “Ukrainians”.

Siriusthecat

Omg, does that make sense to you? The media used to define Trump the same way. If Putin is anything like what they have portrayed, anything at all, could he be where he is today? Could Russia be what it is? Those kids you think were actually sent, or they just made fake videos for the daily mail? Oh and again, this is the fantasy world where Putin will put them in a stew pot and make their family eat them for making that video ar all. Which makes more sense to you?

Yuri

did nazi jens give you a cookie

Tom Bombadillo

No. T’was Nuland, the fugly zionista.

this kind of nazi peurile stupidity will be believed at CIA.com

platon

Logistical disaster?! Destroying the, by their own claims, Greatest Army in Europe in 6 days and then taking a rest? It’s a disaster alright, for the merenary slave army of CIA Nulandistan.

Observer197

MANPAD makes it possible for an individual person to take down a chopper or aircraft and quickly disappear into the woods or nearby car….very hard to identify and counter. If they are resupplied it could drag on and have high losses.

JayTe

And one missile strike will take out everything in an area 200m radius. So use a MANPAD and you have just made it infinitely easier for the Russian military to target you! Real smart!!!

One soldier for each fighter jet shot down is a trade the Empire is eager to make.

NoNameSoSueMe

Yep. The Neocons will fight to the last Ukranian.

Michel LeBlanc

Thats why its imperative to not flatten ukrainian cities, for each soldier there will be 100 civilian that hate their nazi ass. One needs to be patient here, but MANPADS will not win the war.

Nazi ukraine is doomed, even its statehood is now in question

bart

there would have to be some incredibly fancy computer system and sensor to guess a manpad origin. Or very good drone surveillance.

I don’t think they would use that sort of large ordinance. And even if yes, coordinating that fast with ground troops quickly enough probably won’t happen.

Dan

Satellites, drones, infrared etc .

Pamfil

The best military action for the russians would be the Sirian one….giving 24 h for civilians to flee and then bombard with everything (mostly using strategic bombers and long-range artillery) strategic locations to encircle big ucrainian forces; very rude, cruel and unhumane but so it is the strategy of the neonazis from Kiev to use population as a human shield

Justintime

Yes but the RF sees Ukrainians as kindred and do not want to cause massive bloodshed. Even at the expense of their own soldiers – they will try to minimise civilian casualties.

platon

When the situation is stabilised, and it will be, the South Russians will not be amenable to terrorists of any kind; CIA, ISIS, Mossad or Canadian. They will all be dealt with by a healthy, Christian Slavic population once the Nulandistanis are kicked out of Kiev.

Fritz, Russians do not care to “overrun” Western Europe. 2 or 3 million prejudiced western analysts see it that way, including you, but none of you understands that not everyone is a greedy MIC imperialist like all of you are. “It will create a lot of jobs” says you.

“Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerers of death’s construction
In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds, oh lord yeah!
Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor
Time will tell them they are powered minds
Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait ’till their Judgement Day comes, yeah!
Now in darkness, world stops turning
Ashes where their bodies burning
No more war pigs have the power
Hand of God has struck the hour
Day of Judgement, God is calling
Underneath the war pigs crawling
Begging mercy for their sins
Satan, laughing, spreads his wings
Oh, Lord yeah!”

you sound like a dumb faggot…. actually you are a dumb faggot

HB_norica

Remember that NATO is the big threat not Ukraine. Russia appears to be keeping their best weapons systems in reserve and likely their most effective standoff munitions. The Russians have a capable military however NATO is an order of magnitude bigger and richer. They have to keep enough forces in reserve to defend against NATO at a time where what would normally be their reserve force fights in Ukraine. Those strategic bombers and Iskander missiles have to be armed and free to attack NATO airbases in respond to any attempt by NATO to enforce a no fly zone. There isn’t an endless supply of missiles in Russia.

Valens

They don’t use strategic bombers because 1)ukr. strategic Air Defenses are not completely destroyed and strategic bombers are more vulnerable. 2)carpet bombing inflicts massive civilian casualties. Small aircrafts are not particularly effective not in Syria or anywhere, NATO in 1999. in 3 months of bombing campaign managed to destroy less than 1% of Serbian tanks in Kosovo. Russians in Syria can fly much lower, yet they are not very effective in directly destroying enemy troops, we saw large coloumns of terrorists in white Toyotas during daylight both in Syria and Iraq. Communication and command centers, ammo depots, fortified positions and other static targets are much better targets but you need accurate info.

Ace

The Toyota columns knew they would not be attacked by the US. Same with the oil tankers. The US ignored them until the Russians shamed them into acting.

bart

those are unavoidable in such a conflict. pilots have to be skilled, quick, and in some cases lucky as well.

losses in the air offset losses on the ground, manyfold.

Jacob

Maybe they don’t want to use their best gear against relatively poorly armed Ukrainian forces when they may have to fight much better armed NATO soon.

Moreover the reported UAF loses are not consistent withe reported inventory… If you notice airforce inventory totaled 67 airframes and RFA reports announce some 120 airframes destroyed. South frond must try to do some counting like the Armenian war so we can all see what remains in inventory.

Facts

More like 200. Or perhaps you should check before making such comments

James Brown

The difference is US wars of last decades faced far weaker armed enemies with less advanced hardware. US weren’t subject to constant MANPAD attacks, or Buk-1 systems, in Afghanistan, Iraq etc. It was small arms and RPG’s, which still took considerable tolls on US in insurgencies. However, notably, when the US had started overflying Bosnia-Serb territory in 1995, a USAF F-16 was shot down pretty quickly, and it was done by Bosnian-Serb militia with older mobile 2K12 Kub SAM launcher.

someone

That’s why the CIA sent its operatives into Afghanistan with bags full of money to buy all the stingers they could before the US Airforce started to operate there. Of course, Russia doesn’t have that option.

The Ukrainians have a massive advantage in the fact that the West is providing them with aerial reconnaissance which makes it possible for them to know when and from where the Russian aircraft are coming. This means that they can turn their radars off to avoid getting hit by Russian anti-radiation missiles. Combined with the dispersion of UAF air defense assets across the country this makes it very hard to destroy them and achieve anything more than local destruction of UAF air defense.
In such a highly contested battlespace losses and unavoidable, and would be for any airforce in the World.

The Russians have to use what they have now, and what their pilots are trained to use – that means Su-25s, Su-24s, and Su-34s.
The Orion has only just started serial production, so even if they wanted hundreds of them it’s just not possible to build that many at this time. What they do have in hundreds of reconnaissance drones that are used to detect UAF force and direct artillery. This use of drones to serve as observers for artillery has proven very deadly so far, and it is probably the main cause of UAF casualties.

The situation in Syria is vastly different than in Ukraine both in terms of the military capabilities of their foes there but also the sheer number of enemies they face.
The strategic bombers are not really necessary at this point, and it would be foolhardy to risk them as long as the UAF air defense assets are still plentiful.

Perhaps this conflict will serve to convince the top ranks in the Russian airforce about the need to replace the manned aircraft with more unmanned systems, like Orion.

B A

It looks like these manpads may have had significant electronics updates, likely neural network trained to recognize to better distinguish flare from target.

Until equipped active jamming IR laser pods these Su 25 pilots will likely need to re-evaluate how safe it is to fly under 3 km and minimize time doing this unnecessarily. This will also cut down on spotting targets of opportunity. Hopefully this loss can be made up with greater use of drones.

It’s possible these drone operation (and their full scale) are hampered by lack of trained manpower, or possibly even NATO jamming.

All this being said, some air losses are unavoidable. The loss of a pilot is offset by the manyfold loss of people on the ground that pilot saved. Hopefully the survivability rate is high and rescue operations are on standby, quick, and competent. The Su 25 is an older platform, with many of the ~300 in operation being pretty old airframes. A modernized new generation of Su 25/28 should be worth producing, but I think some thought should be given on a whole next generation replacement.

Crazy to think that DPR and LPR forces have done most of the heavy lifting in this war. Does the army still have those huge traffic jams?

hash

Clyde

It would be absolutely crazy to think that.

DontBelieveEitherPropaganda

Not most the heavy lifting. But DPR/LPR together with the Chechens are by far the units with the highest morale. Many Russians are now are joking that Russia will be saved by Donbass and Chechnya.. ;)

Clyde

Russia helped Donbas people save themselves, so they’re returning the favour. Not much mention in Anglosphere media of the assassinations of people like Zakharchenko, and figures like Motorola and Givi. The garbage press in Anglosphere wrote off that murder campaign as more wickedness from Putin.

Hmmm

Maybe in some years the Ukranians will join the list of the thankful. Here is an interesting article pertaining to corruption and interests:

As Haaretz reports:

https://archive.ph/yXCVd

also: en.interfax.com.ua/news/general/570044.html

So basically the old Ukranian resistance against Bolshevism has been corrupted into a fight that has little to do with what it was formed for. Oh sure the old symbols and flags and slogans are there. But this is like the Christians taking pagan signs and symbols and giving them new meaning. To not be aware that this is happening is completely baffling. It’s like when the Bundesrepublik flies the black red gold of Germany and suggests that it means infinite migrants, abortions for all and female rule. More than the Ukranians at arms it is the dissident West that sees this anomaly – a people who Putin has not tried to reach out to, who are less likely to benefit from a pivot East except that it could break the power grip of West’s degenerate, anti-natal, job-exporting, replacement-population importing oppressor

@Clyde

No i am not referring to whatever crap you listed. I am referring to the good old chechen mujahedeen like Shamil Basajew , Dokka Umarov or foreigners who fought with them like Emir Ibn Al Khattab. Their remnants, children, cousins etc. they all have deep ties and strong routing in Chechnya, and these kind of true Chechens will also come to Ukraine to fight off the russians.

And I said that Putin should hope to never see these guys near the Kreml, because if so, then he knows for sure, he better run, run run, running fast !

Sörenson

You are mistaken Achi ! You obviously do not know nothing about the true history. Adolf Hitler was best friend with Arab Mujahedeen and leaders like Amin Al-Husseini – see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relations_between_Nazi_Germany_and_the_Arab_world , and Chechens fought side by side with the Wehrmacht against the Soviet Red Army. There was a short report even on the MSM about that time. With old Chechen men interviewed in 2006 who said they are still with the Germans, and that the reporter should stop telling them about what they think about todays “russian leadership” as they ( old Chechens) know very well, that it is not russian, but Jews leading Russia already since 1917.

True European National Socialists are godfearing, strongly antijudaistic, upright people, standing side by side with the palestinian cause, and want to get rid of both Jewnited States as well as Judeo-Russian occupation of Europe. They want to live in freedom, and see Islam not as enemy. But, and this is what is likely mistaken by you: The Jews have invented and spread lies, they opened the borders of europe (against the will of the europeans) and lured millions of muslims and blacks including lots of criminals and rapers into here, and tell lies about christians and muslims in their jewish-european fake medias, in order to make upright christians and muslims fight each other. This is the evil zionist plan.

And some know-nothing people always watch from the outside and see the jewish set-up fake right-wing parties, which are in fact all Israeli Mossad assets (like English Defence League, AFD and all the pseudo-rightwing fakers) and think they are the true Nationalists of Europe. No these are not.

No my friend. It is a hoax. Don t fall for it. True, non brainwashed Germans, Skandinavians, and Palestinians and Chechens are friends, and all hate Jews, hate Israel and the sick godless jewish LGBT and mRNA-vaccination agendas. See for proof: Anti-israeli demonstration in Berlin 2014 (when Israel was again bombing Gaza), roughly a thousand palestinians openly praising Adolf Hitler, and chanting “Adolf Hitler, Adolf Hitler”, and more anti-israeli shouts like for example: ” Jews, Jews , you old pigs, come out and fight us alone”. See: https://bit.ly/3I1hmpr (Please re-upload it also to other platforms in order to spread this truth, and hopefully it – this knowledge – will, inshallah, destroy the jewish evil plan of making christians and muslims fighting each other)

Cyric Vigilius

Where are the Chechen Units anyways? None of these reports tells us where they are.

JayTe

The DPR and LPR have been heavily involved in operations in the Donbass and have suffered the majority of the losses.

Cyric Vigilius

That’s because the solders from this region understand that it is a life and death stuggle for them. I do wonder if this has been explained to the regular solders of the army.
I have friends from Kazan, Russia and they have no idea what has been going in the Donbass other than some low level comflict for the past 8 years. The state has done a poor job explaining the necessityof this war.

Tador

Let’s remember, in Syria, some Western analysts said that the Russian army does not make progress and that it was not working. But a couple of months later, everybody could see the results and that it was working.
Rumors that Poland might give MiG fighter jets to Ukraine is somewhat concerning though. Is that even possible? Could that even work? I think those planes would be destroyed when they come to Ukraine but I don’t know.

JayTe

With respect, any jets flying in Ukraine will be taken out by Russian anti air defences. There is no hope of that. Remember that they were talking about the same thing in Syria and it didn’t happen. Now we are talking about Russia’s backyard.

Tador

Is it then just a US scheme to sell F16s to Poland? Because they say on the news that if Poland gives MiGs to Ukraine, Poland will need new fighter jets and the US is happy to sell them.

clyde

Arms is the biggest NATO/Israeli racket going, after the drug trade. Nothing better than selling second-hand materiel to marks who will pay through the nose for it.

Tom Bombadillo

It’s all just propaganda to make westerners think that all related things are easily under NATO’s control. Supposedly the Russians have already destroyed many of the weapons shipped in by the US since Dec. 2021 by destroying an arms depot holding them in Zhytomir.

Soleimani

No disrespect to our Russian friends, but in Syria you had the IRGC and Hezbollah in the field with a proper strategy and intelligence networks. Ukronazis have Natostan intelligence behind them and unfortunatly a Russian high command who misread the ground situation in Ukraine early in the war. Nevertheless, Im confident our Tavarish will clean Ukraine from the natonazis soon.

Sörenson

You do not want Iran bombed or invaded by foreign country, so why you are cheering Russia invading foreign country ? Allah will punish you for that. But ok, I forgot, you folks do not believe in Allah anymore, but in Putin now. Ok, got it !

clyde

Iran is the country under attack by the NATO/Israeli axis.

Sörenson

And you like that ? If not then why cheering another war of aggression. I want no country to be attacked by another, you don t get that ?

This war is a terrible tragedy, but it is occurring because Russia is under attack by the United States, using the Ukraine as a weapon. Unfortunately, the Ukrainians have been relentlessly brain-washed and dumbed down to the point where they think their interests lie in being bled dry by IMF vampires and dying for NATO in their war against Russia. NATO is a bona fide international criminal entity, and they are out to destroy Russsia.

But the ground work in Syria was done by Syrians, be them the Damascus forces or, north of the Euphrates, the NSF ones (with US air backing). In any case the advance in the NW against Turkey-backed forces has been painfully slow. It’s a mixed bag.

Lesco Brandon

Not going to happen and even if it does it will make no difference. They’ll get taken out on the ground.

The Russia big mistakes in General Command was, they thought this will be like in Crimea, easy walk. unfortunately, this was the big blunder. Sending young inexperience solders, without attack helicopters support and drone support, this under mind Russia military capability and NATO is watching. When NATO explore Russia military weaknesses NATO will act.

Those weakness will bite Russia back really bad. Same as Putin blunder in 2014, by not recognize those 2 republics. Now Russia solders dying and Putin sitting comfortable in Kremlin, while people dying for his mistake’s.

PsyOp

I always found it highly suspicious that Putin didn’t go full-force into Ukraine back in 2014…it would have been much easier (NATO has had 8 YEARS to dig tunnels, stockpile this and that, and make its plans), and it would have been justified: “They’re burning people alive in Odsessa!” But he didn’t…

clyde

Burning one hundred innocents in Odessa was a disgusting atrocity, but hardly justification to take out the entire CIA project in Banderistan.

Cyric Vigilius

This is why it is very important that there not be any peace agreement until Odessa is taken. 48 people burned alive are crying out from the grave for vengeance. People should get out of the city right now, as there not be any quarter given to anyone.

Cyric Vigilius

A mystery to me too. Anyone care to speculate?

Hmmm

There’s also a cognitive dissonance issue. If you are told you need to preserve your independence because those people coming to end that are evil blah blah, the bullets flying and ruins seem to confirm the propaganda line. And the propaganda line is not new, it’s cultural dogma. Entrenched.

If you are Russian and go in being told it’s an operation to bring back a people who are Russian, them merely resisting conflicts with the propaganda line. “They are killing Russians in the Donbass and Luhansk” is more powerful incentive to fight, but to what degree is that the population as a whole? It seems then the Russian casus belli is more useful for the homefront and there is little that can be juiced out of it to energize the battlefront – once Donbass and Luhansk are secured.

This is a big issue, and it’s only going to get bigger.

Sörenson

Exactly ! Maybe a half-way reasonable move of Putin would have been to occupy the Donetzk and Lugansk regions, and march a max of 40 kilometers into Ukraine to establish buffer zone. Then go to security council and ask for talks in order to solve the problem or establish permanent de-militarized zone through UN-Blue helmet soldiers there. Or a small few km stripe permanent russian-militarized zone. So that Ukrainian military cannot shoot artillery into East-Ukrainan Donetzk or Lughask area. Problem solved. Civilians in that areas saved. Putin would be the big saviour, and everything would be fine ( at least compared to the current horrific situation). But no ru-rambo Nwo-proll Putin, on order of his jewish Chabad-masters decided to do full blown invasion of Ukraine, in order to take away the attention of the world masses from the global mRNA-vaccine holocaust which the jews have commited the last 2 years agains all people of west and east europe as well as against the north-american populations. Therefore:

Truth is, it’s not Putin who decided but the jews, mainly Rothschild and its worldwide parasitical central bank system/empire and Chabad Lubawitsch messianic endtime organisation (real judaic psychos), with their puppets Biden, Merkel, Baerbock, Selensky, Kolomoisky, Schwab, Soros, Putin, Lazar, Netanjahu, and Abramowitsch, Teichtal, Schuster, Gates, Ginzburg (Sputnik V) etc. They are behind it all, and they will drive us deeper and deeper into full blown World War 3, and will fight to the last Christian, and the last Muslim, and do not give a rat’s shit – let alone care – for what happens to any non-jew on this planet.

Do they really have that type of control do you think? My sources from Russia told me that Putin didn’t even want to move on Crimea. That the Armed Forces made him do it or they were going to find themselves a new president.

I totally agree though, 2014 would have been the time to do it.

The US banks went broke in the summer of 2019, again, along with Japanese and other foreign banks in vassal states. First of all there is no NATO, there is only the US. It will take European countries 5 to 8 years before they can build an effective army. Russia has done the job. The Ukrainian military will not exist in a few weeks. NATO can slide them all the Javelins and NLAWS and Stingers in NATO inventories, and it’s not going to prevent the destruction of Ukraine’s armed forces. There is no relief coming. I’m not much of a fan of Putin as I don’t particularly care for his views on the place of religion in the state, but it doesn’t change the fact that the Ukrainians got sold down the river by their leadership, and are being destroyed in the name of US geostrategic and economic policy.
Crimea is gone, and not coming back. Donbas, gone. Possibly Odessa. Western banks tried to destroy Russia, and they have destroyed the Ukraine. Sorry about your luck, champ.

As I keep repeating since day1: Russians simply don’t have enough troops on the ground for this massive-scale war.
I guess the ‘logic’ was similar to “We have only to kick in the door and the whole rotten structure will come crashing down” (we know how that one ended). The very idea that you can conquer the largest country in Europe (apart from Russia itself) with 30.000 troops was ridiculous. Even 60.000 is nowhere near enough. Advancing coloumns have to stop not just because of logistical problems and stubborn enemy defense, but because they have no one behind them to cover the ground. You cannot encircle huge enemy pockets (or cities) without troops. Putin didn’t want to send conscripts/reservists but now he has no choice, he cannot send all professional soldiers into Ukraine, he must call for reservists. National guard is another half-measure and you can’t win the war with half-measures. Of all fronts only group from Crimea achieved significant gains advancing from difficult position in the south, but they are out of steam as well. D/L PR forces also did a decent job, but the rest of units achieved very little. Now they are all in danger to lose initiative completely.

Ukraine is now fully mobilized, they have massive foreign support; they can place most of their low tier units into cities, no need to advanced tactics but their small quality units can maneuver easily and conduct limited counterattacks. Eventually Ukraine will be completely destroyed… but the real enemy is in Washington, they don’t give a **** about Ukrainians, they are just a friendly Indian tribe for them. The whole plan is to turn Ukraine into Afghanistan, they don’t even try to hide it. War of attrition is against Russians, they need to mobilize far more troops and end this asap. Unfortunately it looks like that no one in Russia, not soldiers, not officers, not generals, not even Putin himself, have any idea what are they doing or even why.

another armchair CIA failure too stupid to believe

Sörenson

Yes, all true what you say. But I would advise the Ukrainians to not put everything into the cities. Keep 1/3 of troops outside and scattered as guerillas, disguised as civilians, in the villages and small towns near important highways and cities, so that when the russian are encircling the big towns, there will always be hit-and run attacks on their re-supply convoys etc.

And it is important to establish tunnel-networks. Like the Northvietnamese back in the 1960s and in part ISIS in Syria did. Do it near the borders with Poland and Romania. Also in this areas significant military guerilla detachments should be hidden, in order to keep open the main borders as long as possible, and surprise-kill the enemy, even if he is in control of the area.

You need to have tens of thousands of hidden weapons and ammunitions, and explosives depots scattered across the country, in order to wage effective, never-ending guerilla warfare against the invader. (Same like Saddam Hussein did). Siege troops become lazy easily. And guerillas are good for imformation gathering, and pinpoint attacks, eighter RPG or mortar and rocket C5K surprise missile strikes. And tunnels are of course also nice for bringing in goods into town. Very funny when the siege laying invaders thinks you are starving and will die from hunger very soon, when in fact food and everything is coming in through hidden underground channels.

Put a good amount of troops inside the big cities. Build also there underground networks. Use the sewer channels and everything that is there. Train the civilians in sniper-shooting, and booby-trap laying & IED placing. Know the terrain, check it out, and prepare booby-traps, mine houses, hidden sniper nests etc. Place IEDS etc. Leave car bombs, so that after a short fire-fight when the advancing invader forces think they won, and start to move into town, the car they pass, is the last thing they pass in their life. From time to time also let the enemy “win” resp. move through, so that he thinks he won and broke your defences in that district, moves forward, but then ambush and sniper fire kills him from behind. And cuts the invader troops down from behind, creating cauldrons of your own, encircling the enemy for a short period, killing all or most of him, and then you scatter and disappear (eighter to the next neighborhood, a labyrinth of ruins, the sewer or whatever the best choice is) Never give the enemy a clear front. He ought to never know where the real front is at the moment. Hit-and-run tactics, with small hunter-killer teams is the way to go.

Last edited 2 years ago by Sörenson
David

Those are warcrimes, and if they go down that path then Russia can also send in 1 million guerilla fighters out of uniform and everyone will be shooting each other.

Sörenson

Putin wasn t even man enough to declare war. He called it a “restricted military operation”, so do not come with that “war crime” logic. UDSSR murdered over 10 Ukrainians with Holodomor. And now russians cry foul, after they again want to enslave and uproot the Ukrainians ? Putin says he has the right to “De-nazify” that foreign country. So why not Japan is allowed to invade Brasil, on base of having the honorable wish to de-brasilianize that country ? No, this attitude is so illegal, it is a shame Putin really came down to this. He really destroyed all the respect people in the far away western world might have had for him. This criminal act he commited by full-blown invasion of Ukraine cannot be justified by such hollow shell and pathetic erratic claims.

If you come as oppressor and invade a country – you will be fought by the people there. And they will rightfully defend themselves with everything that’s at their disposal, including guerilla and partisan warfare. The Nato even warned Putin that he will face endless guerilla warfare if he attacks. So why Putin and all the Putin-trolls is now crying a big river ? Ukrainian army made the invaders arse bleed, with the invaders wondering about all the resistance and dead russian invader poopers/troopers suddenly lying around them. Yes, that is what you get, when you invade foreign countries. Lessons which US invader forces in Iraq and Afghanistan and Russians in Chechnya had learned, and now again in Ukraine are learning the hard way.

Last edited 2 years ago by Sörenson

bart

Aircraft like Su-25 seem very essential for this type of situation, in combination with slower Ka52, drones, and faster multirole (strike+air superiority) Su34.

What will the next gen close air support design that will replace the Su-25 look like? (It is getting up there in age).

I think China was developing Mig-15 or Mig-17 drone conversions, which I think also makes a lot of sense. (For one, they feed on a diet of Manpads.)

Iran’s Q 313 is aerodynamically interesting, but of course lacks any sort of armor and has low offensive capability.

1)Russia should have multiple Il-22pp ELINT and Jammers up simultaneously north of Kiev, Kharkiv to locate and jam all remaining Ukrainian BUK, SA-6 Kub, Tor, and S-125 Neva. 2)Once located, SU-34 armed with SAP-14 active jammer should go in and destroy located air defenses using KH-31P.
3) At least 3-4 A-50U need to be up around Ukraine north and east to give 24/7 awac anti-air anti-ground surveillance to aerospace and infantry. A-50U can locate air targets up to 400km and ground units to 500-600km. 4) Dozens of orlans need to be up at every frontline to locate ukrop artillery and hideouts
4)High value fighters like SU-30, SU-34 are not safe flying below 3500 meter! (11,000 feet) due to Stinger. Igla, Polish Manpad. Only helicopters should be flying very low, not jets. Bring out the KH-25, KH-29, and KAB-L! No need to fly that low for SU-34, SU-30.

RUAF needs to have constant awac and ELINT/jamming.
1)They need to have at least 4 A-50U awac up north and east Ukraine 24/7 to provide aerospace constant anti-air/anti-ground surveillance. They can loiter 4-6 hours then il-78 refuels them.
2)3-6 Il-22pp EW/Elint planes to locate radar emitters and jam remaining ukrop air defenses 24/7, able to be refueled by il-78
3) unleash the SU-34 and SU-30SM with loads of KH-58/KH-31P. Each plane can carry 2-4 each. Hypersonic able to penetrate S-300PS and BUK.
4) Fighter Jets need to stop flying below 3500m! Stinger, Igla reach up to 3600 (~11,000 feet). Only helicopters should be flying low, not jets.
Dear RUAF, up your game please! You have plenty of power. Give the ukrop nazis an even bigger defeat than they already have suffered.

Russian Army has over 2000 Orlan-10 UAV, 100+ Pechela, and 200 Forpost drones. Dozens of these need to be up at every frontlines (Kharkov, Chernigiv, Kiev) to locate Ukrop artillery, hideouts and bunkers. This will pave way for Russian artillery to smash them accurately and let ground troops stroll in. So far very limited usage of drones according to evidence from twitter. Bring out the drones! Those ukrops wont be able to hide.

US/NATO cunts are providing 24/7 AWAC and ELINT support to Ukrop nazis via RC-135W and E-3B sentry. Using barely 10% of their navy artillery and airforce power, Russia has liberated 25% of Ukraine land in 10 days using young soldiers. Imagine what they can do with 100% of their military power with highly trained soldiers. All the Baltics Finland and Sweden would be captured by upcoming fall lol.

Who remembers when Russia joined the fight in Syria? The SAA was on the verge of destruction. MSM, day in day out, said Russia was struggling, Russia was bombing hospitals, Russia was this and Russia was that. BUT Russia helped the SAA capture pretty much all of Syria. The only reason the moderate terrorists still remain stuck in Idlib is because Russia wants to maintain a relationship of some kind with Turkey and Israel. Otherwise they’d be blown to smithereens.

It hasn’t even been two weeks in the operation so far and Russia has captured large swathes of Ukraine. There is a tactical pause outside of Kiev but it is clear to see they are extending the buffer zone further out west and then slowing moving south. Eventually the aim is to fully encircle Kiev with the northern and southern armies joining up.
