Evidence of brutal killings of civilians by fighters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Russian region of Kursk continues to emerge.
After Russian forces regained control over the village of Russkoe Porechnoye, they found bodies of civilians with their hands tied in one of the cellars. The residents were shot and killed in January 2025, when they were sheltering from the fighting in the basement of the house.
Earlier, in the basement of another house, Russian soldiers found the bodies of civilians with signs of beating, shots in legs and bound hands.
At the same time, pro-Kyiv propaganda hides war crimes of Ukrainian soldiers, and Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that the AFU “behave like human beings”. Apparently, Zelensky had in mind another meaning of this phrase.
Russia’s Investigative Committee said a criminal case has been opened against AFU fighters involved in the torture and murder of civilians in the village of Russkoye Porechnoye.
“The atrocities against civilians in Russkoye Porechnoye in Kursk Region are a blatant statement of the terrorist gut of the Kiev regime,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
