On October 22, the U.S.-led coalition in Syria bombed and destroyed a mosque in the village of Sousa in the province of Deir Ezzor. According to the coalition, it “destroyed several buildings” used by ISIS members to “launch attacks against Syrian Democratic Force [SDF] partners”.
The coalition added that one of the buildings had been a “mosque that was being used as a defensive fighting position and command center” adding that several ISIS terrorists had been killed as they fired on coalition forces.
According to pro-SDF sources, the US-backed group recently entered the village of Sousa capturing a part of it from ISIS. On October 23, clashes in the area continued amid multiple air and artillery strikes by the US-led coalition force.
