US Considering Sale of F-35 Stealth Fighters To UAE, Israel Not Happy

Greek and Turkish F-16s facing off over the Mediterranean. Are the F-35s destined to dogfight over the Gulf?

The Trump administration and the United Arab Emirates hope to reach a preliminary agreement on the sale of F-35 stealth fighter jets to Abu Dhabi by early December, according to a Reuters news agency report citing administration officials on Tuesday.

The prospective sale of stealth F-35 fighter jets to Abu Dhabi has been one of the controversial side issues of the Israel-UAE accord.

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly denied reports the deal was premised on the sale of F-35s to the UAE, saying he opposes a move that could reduce Israel’s military advantage.

The growing rumours of the sale have prompted angry reactions in Israel.

In private, Netanyahu said yes to the U.S. selling stealth fighters to UAE; in public, he’s opposing it. His mixed messages, and opaque motivations, will intensify the upcoming controversy between Trump, pushing for a deal, and Congress. LINK

The Congress is likely to oppose the deal. At the same time as they are discussing the deal, US officials have said they remain committed to Israel’s security and are looking for a way to structure a deal that would allow Israel to keep its military edge over all other countries in the region.

According to the report, the two sides aim to draft up a letter of agreement in time for UAE National Day celebrated on December 2. According to the Reuters report:

Any deal must satisfy decades of agreement with Israel that states any U.S. weapons sold to the region must not impair Israel’s “qualitative military edge,” guaranteeing U.S. weapons furnished to Israel are “superior in capability” to those sold to its neighbors.

With that in mind Washington is studying ways to make the Lockheed Martin corp F-35 more visible to Israeli radar systems, two sources said. Reuters could not determine if this would be done by changing the jet or providing Israel with better radar, among other possibilities.

The report, citing a congressional staffer and a source familiar with previous sales, said the Pentagon does not allow any F-35 sold to foreign governments to match the performance capabilities of US jets.

During a visit to Jerusalem last month, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo reassured Israel that his country would continue to preserve that edge while allowing the UAE to defend itself against threats from Iran.

Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz is currently in Washington to discuss the possible F-35 sale. LINK

UAE is a corrupt vassal neo-imperialist colony created by the devious Brits in 1971 and has no legal basis as a state or its ‘recognition” of an equally despicable Zionist cancer in Palestine It is good that the most corrupt Wahhabi Bedouins will now vie for regional toxicity with the Zionist tumor. The F-35 is a cash cow for the dying US economy as it is being shoved down the throats of its regional puppets, the Emiratis are illiterate and not capable of flying the F-35 anyway and most likely mercenary pilots will be operating them as an extension of US, UK and French occupation of the artificial UAE.

Selbstdenker

well, I lived there for the last 15 years, but your description does not ring a bell. You should educate yourself a bit, maybe try to travel there and get some first hand impression?

HiaNd

Instead of bragging you could have told him where he was wrong and why

tzatz

He was expressing an opinion … your ilk doesn’t accept information … YOUR ilk only swallows your own propaganda whole … eh?

HiaNd

He was bragging in aggressive manner instead of being CONSTRUCTIVE and contributing to the clarification of the problem!
Now fuck off!

tzatz

Constructive?

Is that what you’re here for?

YOU f/k off …

HiaNd

Yeah, him not being constructive once….while you are never constructive !
next !

tzatz

The UAE pilots are better than most Arab state pilots … but are not in the same league as the Israelis … eh?

It’s a Good, Better, Best … never let them rest … until good is better and better is best …. sorta thing … eh?

Lone Ranger

They are only not happy because everybody will realise its junk.

Sauron

I am pretty sure they will sell it to counter Iran and put UAE on top of Arab NATO that they want to create. But they will not sell to Saudi as they are too close to Israel. And occasionally Saudis have internal political changes, not very stable.

occupybacon

I doubt they will be operated by local army. Trump needs to test one of them to see if they can fly above Iran, if shot down, he will cancel the program immediately :)

Sauron

Then he simply can halt any operation until all sales are completed. Legally US can indirectly control which conflicts its equipment can or cannot be used based on the End-Use Monitoring of U.S.-Origin Defense Articles.

Since uae financed all expenses and sucessfully managed to make major change in adminisration of Socotra island in favour of Usa and israel, they earned a golden vote to impose anything in short-term to usa. This island geographically major strategic place to track, control İrans tankers which is full of missiles. hint:Advanced İsrael maritime drones will start tracking iranian flotilla as soon as iranian tanker start its path from İranian harbours to lebanon or palestine..oh dear.. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/35d48960d1e6c6fec9edf8f8676443605b8377deb7fa56d7b5803f9894d5fd7a.jpg

Jim Allen

“Counter Iran.” That’s laughable, just how will this fugitive from the scrap yard “counter Iran” ? You’re aware Iran has S-400 missile defense systems, right ? In addition to S-300, as well as it’s own extremely capable missile defense systems. F-35 isn’t particularly stealthy, a Syrian S-200 battery managed to get a hit on an IAF F-35, and sent it running for home. S-400 radar can see them just fine, so can Su-35 radar. There’s also issues with the “stealth” coating falling off rather quickly, and other corrosion problems. Their maintenance schedule keeps them on the ground a lot, and maintaining these in combat conditions in the region, nearly impossible. Nevermind the fact they’re unreliable, and fall out of the sky all on their own.
US military pulled them out of the Middle East for these reasons.
The last thing an F-35 pilot wants to see is an upgraded MiG-29, or a Sukhoi in the air with it. Or to get in a drag race with a Tu-160.
Go ahead sell ’em to UAE, a lot of them.

Sauron

I am not aware of Iran possession on s400 to be honest. Do you have any sort of link or source for that claim?

Jim Allen

It’s not a claim, and I probably picked up than info right here on SF.
Iran wanted S-400, but Putin declined in order to keep a balance in the region, and Iran already had S-300.
Then US turned up the pressure on Iran, so Putin sent Iran S-400. It’s only been at few months ago that happened. It was no secret, or anything.
Could’ve been Press TV, too before it was censored. I haven’t found a way to get that channel back, so far.

Sauron

https://southfront.org/pompeo-vows-us-will-never-let-iran-acquire-russian-chinese-weapons/
https://southfront.org/iran-russia-on-their-way-to-new-level-of-partnership/
All I found on Iran and S-400 is interest and rumors of interest. Nothing on sale, transfer, contract, deployment. You might have confused the “interest” with “sale”.

Jim Allen

Nope.

Sauron

Then you are welcome to provide sources to your claims. With legit sources a claim might perhaps become a fact. But so far its a claim.

Jim Allen

And, you are welcome to search it yourself. Perhaps you may even prove me wrong someday.

Sauron

Not my claim. You claimed you need to provide sources.

Servet Köseoğlu

lol..iranian s-400 turns out to be hoax…but they have bavar-373 ad system with advanced radar meraj-4..
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/4214d1cbe7c6ecacde1c4fb65fecf361cec6951740f9d28c1deb187e132bfc3b.jpg

Sauron

ahahahaha. I like this Hulk more:)))

HiaNd

Iran did NOT have S-300.
That S-300P that you mention is bought from Croatia who bought it from Ukraine dirty cheap as bluff against Serbs because that S-300P was not functioning!
But Iran bought it to try to make copy of the S-300 and the result is today called “Bavar” Iranian version of S-300 long range AA system.
And you might be right that S-400 is already sold to Iran as well

HiaNd

Yes Iran has S-400.
Iran poses S-300 PMU3 which is S-400 in everything but the name.
Those for sale are S-300PMU2
Highest possible S-300 upgrade that only Russia uses (not for export !)
Russia have sold to them S-300 and dragged delivery to the eternity taking UN sanctions as an excuse.(it was obvious doing favors to Israel for some other favors to Russia)

To the point that Iran had finally threatened to take them to the court

The delivered at the end the highest possible upgraded S-300 with the missiles of 300km range (identical to S-400 export version missiles)

If you need source ask yourself first, would Iran ever publish that?!

Sauron

S-300 PMU3 is not S-300 PMU2. A legit source doesn’t have to be official.

HiaNd

But that is exactly what I was trying to tell you!
Export version of S-300 PMU2 has 200km long range missile while PMU3 has 300km range missile and only Russia has them because upgraded S-300 to the max!
There are no legit sources for that kind of information.
Take it or leave it I do not care and I do not intend to look for the links either.
It was Russian way to apologize to Iran for dragging their feet to sell them S-300

Sauron

Indeed you may choose not to provide any sources, and that is fine. However, no source no legitimacy of a claim. nothing personal.

HiaNd

exactly , of course not personal….. take it or leave it kind of information…because Russia would not publish such news and Iran even less.

Many time “sources” serve only to spread false information’s only.
No news outlet is 100% credible any more.

Lone Ranger

Indeed.
You know your jet sucks if a heavy strategic bomber can outrun you lol.
Flop-35 top speed Mach 1.6.
Tu-160s top speed Mach 2.1.
Aside from that the Flop-35 doesnt have supercruise and can only use its afterburner for 30 secs at a time because due to a design flaw it will melt the fuselage.?

HiaNd

Crap plane for crap country.

Servet Köseoğlu

During a visit to Jerusalem last month, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo reassured Israel that his country would continue to preserve that edge while allowing the UAE to defend itself against threats from Iran.Translation:Dont worry about Uae,ı will transform him to Hound of Baskervilles which will be loyal to me with enhanced military capability. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/c6acb1edd8673966167800dfb4924cc53602625f1affc769068ad0c0b472d6fb.png

Potato Man

I mean UAE paid a lot to Trump and the other apes, UAE also know US failed to stop Iran from buying Russian and Chinese (jets, warship, etc).

There was a deal (between Trump and Wahhabi+Zion) …we all know Wahhabi States and Zion State didn’t like the Iran Nuclear deal from day one.
Trump is very Wahhabi and Zion “friendly” ofc.

I would be happy as long as Iran get some S-400s ready and more jets, warships. BTW UAE is a US base……if they buy it or not it wouldn’t matter.

Jim Allen

Iran has it’s own missile defense systems, that are as good as Russian military hardware, their radars maybe a tad behind, but not for long I think. Russia shares technology with Iran, and assist, and advises on Iran’s development of it’s domestic weapons programs. Having been around for 3,000+ years, Iran’s pretty wise to military technology, and is a leader in drone technology, and electronics.
41+ years of US sanctions slowed Iran down, but has not stopped it from developing into a highly industrialized, modern country. Iran supplies 10% of the world’s steel from 5 modern steel mills capable of producing the exotic alloys used in aerospace manufacturing, it also has state of the art machining capabilities, all the heat treating, hardening, etc., metal working that any competitive country has.
Aluminium production is another strong point, and Iran has large deposits of Bauxite, iron ore, cement, Lithium, copper, and other minerals. Self-sufficient.
Russia will not let Iran fall. The two countries have a history going back at least to the time of Christ. Syria is also a long time ally, not as long as Iran’s history, but still long. There’s one thing Russia has that many countries do not, particularly Western countries. Russia’s word is good.

Selbstdenker

Iran operates several over the horizon radar systems, capable of seing stealth planes. US and Israel know this as well, hence their conservative approaches.

Jim Allen

Thought so, just hadn’t seen confirmation of the seeing stealth part. Good.

Potato Man

Wait did I sound like Iran is not strong to defence herself? That’s not what I meant.

What I meant was a boost for Iran would be great and put some people in their places and it would be a wet dream to start a war with Iran.

But we can’t ignore how much weapons Wahhabi States have been buying, Wahhabi States are good as shit but I can hear the sound of war.
Iran-Iraq war show how strong Iran is although Iraq had the support of NATO and Wahhabi States.
I’m not worry about Iran as you said they have been for 3,000+ years. Still new technology and faster development is nice to have.
Iran have the cake but I want to see the cherry on top the cake.

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy on Wednesday received 188 new naval drones and helicopters, including three unmanned aerial vehicles unveiled for the first time.

Selbstdenker

it looks more like a protection against KSA than against Iran.

Potato Man

US would let their dog to kill each others, UAE and KSA are different side of the same coin.

verner

well kushner had to promise something to get the uae onboard and weapons is one such thing and the eternal protection by the disjointed states of A of the sheiks hold on the money purse – what is not said is the ability of Iran to lay waste of uae’s future for a long long time.

gryzor84

That one stance is so telling of the real Zionist mindset that doesn’t even bother hiding behind even the faintest appearances anymore. The Chutzpah is outright and is spoken in full. The feeling of all-mightiness indeed suppresses every bit of their once silver-tonged postures.

Basically the message goes like “sure you can be our frienfs, you can be our vassals, but you cannot, under no circumstances,be sovereign let alone as powerful as us in defending yourselves,as we demand you to trust us without us trusting you in return, ever.”

Well I’m glad that even the treacherous, midget satellite UAE gave them the middle finger at least on that issue, and went all the way in reaching their objectives on the matter. The same way the Israelis overtly cry foul over purely defensive systems into their neighbors’ hands claiming its a “threat” to their prospective aggressions, they won”t ever swallow the pill of strategic parity with anybody in the region, friend and foe alike. As the endgame of Zionism has always been, is and will forever be nothing short of unquestionned regional hegemony, plain and simple.

Now let’s not kid ourselves, fail-safe mechanisms will be integrated in every critical part of Emirati F-35s weapon systems to come and there is no way in hell they’re ever going to be able to lock on their Israeli counterparts while the latter will be able to track and kill them like flies at will if things ever come to shove. As usual, despite this agreement, the game will be rigged entirely in the IDF’s favor. That’s exactly the kind of hardware /software locks that Turkey once asked Iranian engineers to crack in their F-16s a few years ago, to the dismay of Netanhyahu at the time.

But the principle of them not getting what they want where they expect it from their best buddy Donal putting business before them is simply funny to me.

Jim Allen

The fake State of Israel, will sooner, or later turn on UAE anyway once the Emirates are no longer useful, or the pretenders run out of other enemies. UAE has been sucking pretender dick for a while it turns out, the other one too.

Ilya Grushevskiy

Israel – sure we’ll sing documents, so long as nothing changes on the ground, at all!

<>

They can sell them the F35, Bibi even supported it. We don’t consider them as a threat, the U.S should arm them against Iran.

Garga

Hoping they do something that your own child-killer regime and the USG didn’t have ashkim to do?

tsk tsk. I thought you are braver than this, but everybody makes mistakes, I admit. But I agree, Americans should sell them so we have a look to see what’s in it really?

<>

I don’t get to decide, I am only a soldier. But sure, they can sell them anything they want now that we have a peace deal.

Damien C

The F35 has over 100 faults at present which the US is working on to fix, these are not simple glitches but serious design flaws.

The stealth is only stealth against poorer nations with ineffective radar, any nation determined to locate the F35 in the skies can do so readily.

So it’s never out of the hangar.
It has 100 faults,

It has serious design issues
Its speed is below average 4th gen at best
It has limited after burners
Its electronic suite is not as comprehensive as first thought
Its not radar invisible anymore
It lacks super maneuverability

Why the fuck would you want it at $85 million a pop, Is it any wonder the yanks want to go back to the F15 and revamp it!
The Israeli complaints are just for media hype for image until the stupid Arab puppet states have bought up the last of this ill concieved product.
If the Yanks were selling it and Israel was not objecting do you not think even these dummies in UAE and elsewhere would be asking why they’re getting the so called best without objection?
Then they realise USA is switching back to F15 revamp as the future workhorse until their next invention is ready for the skies and not the hangar
