On the night of November 13, more US military bases came under attacks in Syria.
The US base at the Conico oil field in the province of Deir ez-Zor in eastern Syria was subjected to rocket fire. According to Al Mayadeen, about 15 rockets were fired, which led to strong explosions. Several US servicemen were reportedly killed as a result of the attacks.
Another US military base Al-Shaddadi, located in the Syrian province of Hasakah, was attacked by UAVs. According to the local reports, the base was targeted by three UAVs.
On the same day, SANA reported that Iraqi resistance had targeted US base in the Green Village in al-Omar oil field in Deir Ezzor province.
“The US occupation illegal base in the Green Village was targeted, on Monday at dawn, with a drone which directly hit its target,” the resistance said in a statement.
The attacks on the US military were a response to US strikes on two targets in eastern Syria.
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that the US military has struck targets of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) and groups associated with Iran. The targets included a training facility near the city of Abu Kamal and a building near Mayadin, Austin said.
According to him, the strikes were carried out in response to the ongoing attacks on the American contingent in Iraq and Syria.
At least six people were killed as a result of US strikes on the IRGC facilities in Syria, Fox News reported, citing sources in the Pentagon.
Since the beginning of the war between Israel and Hamas, attacks on US military bases and coalition forces in Iraq and Syria have become more frequent. Pentagon spokesman General Patrick Ryder said that dozens of American soldiers were slightly wounded during the attacks. He claimed that the attacks on the bases are “small in scale” but “alarming and dangerous.”
