The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue repelling Ukrainian forces from the border Kursk region. According to various estimations, the Ukrainian military already lost control of more than 50% of the captured Russian territory.
After their recent victory on the souther flank in Plekhovo LINK, Russian forces resumed advance north of the main Ukrainian stronghold in Sudzha. The Russian troops took control of a large area west of Malaya Loknya. The area of more than 5 kilometers wide and 3 kilometers deep was liberated. As a result of a series of successful attacks, Russian forces repelled the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the forest and approached the village of Kruglenkoe. Battles are already ongoing on the outskirts of the settlement.
At the same time, the Russian military intensified attacks and achieved some advance in the area of Russkoe Porechnoe east of Malaya Loknya. According to preliminary reports, both Russkoe Porechnoe and Cherkasskoe Porechnoe came under Russian control.
The village of Krunglenkoe is of strategic importance because its loss will destroy the integrity of Ukrainian defense on the northern flank. Ukrainian forces are still present in the forest areas west of Novaya Sorochina and near Leonidovo but after their defeat in Kruglenkoe, Ukrainian groups in several villages may fall into another cauldron.
The retreating Ukrainian forces are suffering heavy losses in manpower and military equipment from NATO:
