On the morning of March 6, Ukrainian forces attempted new drones strikes in the Russian border regions. According to the official reports by the Russian Ministry of Defense, two Ukrainian UAVs were intercepted in the Voronezh region and another drone was shot down in the Belgorod region. At the same time, Ukrainian forces attacked the Kursk region, where the UAVs reached the target.
One of the targets of the attack was the Baltimore airfield in the Voronezh region, but the drone was intercepted by Russian forces.
In the early hours, the local authorities reported Ukrainian attack in the Kursk region. The Russian air defense forces were active intercepting targets over the region. The number of the destroyed UAVs was not officially reported.
One of the Ukrainian drones struck a fuel tank on the territory of the Mikhailovsky Mining and Processing Plant in the Zheleznogorsk district in the Kursk region. The governor of the region confirmed the attack. The fuel tank caught fire. Emergency forces came to the spot. There were no victims. Soon after the first strike was confirmed, there were unofficial reports that the second Ukrainian drone struck the same facility.

The Kursk region is coming under Ukrainian artillery shelling and drone strikes on a daily basis. On March 5, the border villages came under at least nine attacks. While the rare drone strikes target some military or industrial facilities, the indiscriminate shelling destroys civilian infrastructure. As a result of the shelling on March 5, a fire broke out at the Glushkovo railway station, power lines were damaged. A day earlier, the village of Guevo, located 1.5 km from the border with the Sumy region of Ukraine, was shelled. The local shops and civilian households were heavily damaged. Fortunately, civilian casualties were avoided. On the same day, another Ukrainian UAV was destroyed over hte region.
