Ukrainian Authorities Are Alarmed By New Grave Threat To National Security

ILLUSTRATIVE IMAGE

Ukrainian authorities and security services are terrified by a new grave threat to the Ukrainian national security: a Russia-Ukraine TV link-up announced by Ukraine’s NewsOne TV channel and Russia’s Russia-24 TV channel.

And this is not a joke.

Earlier this week. NewsOne TV announced that it’s planning to host a TV link-up [“Need to Talk”] between Ukrainians and Russians to discuss the current situation and ‘non-political questions’ by ordinary people. This idea caused an outrage among the current Ukrainian political establishment and government-linked media organizations and activists.

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk reacted to the move by calling it a provocation and stressed that the government is ready to react. He also adviced his counterparts to not panicing over this.

As a strong country, we must react confidently, without unnecessary emotions and panic. Because that’s exactly what they expect. The number of such provocations will only be growing. We need to keep a cool head. We are working on solutions,” Danyliuk said.

Ivan Bakanov, acting head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to convene an extraordinary meeting of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) in connection with NewsOne’s intention to hold a teleconference with the Russia channel.

“The Security Service of Ukraine sent to the heads of the media holding “Novosti” (112. Ukraine, NewsOne and ZIK TV channels) a message about responsibility for holding joint events with the TV channel “Russia” and other broadcasters of the aggressor state that are under sanctions of the National Security and Defense Council,” Bakanov said, according to the SBU press service.

The statement added that Bakanov considers “absolutely unacceptable the organization by NewsOne TV channel of the television bridge with the main propaganda channel of the aggressor country, which is under sanctions.”

President Zelensky camed with an emergency statement on the matter. In the video adress, Zelensky called it “dangerous” PR trick ahead of the snap elections to the Parliament. He added that TV link-ups between Ukrainian and Russian TV channels “during the war” are unacceptable.

The fun fact is that Mr Zelensky just repeated Poroshenko-style justifications under which the previous regime was censoring any independent points of views and opressing the opposition to military actions in the region of Donbass. Despite this, nor Poroshenko nor Zelensky have declared a real war on the “aggressor” – Russia.

Additionally, Zelensky called for negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but said that US President Donald Trump should be involved also. Earlier, pro-Kiev officials complained that the US had lost interests to the Ukrainian affairs and decreased the number of contacts with the regime in power.

Russia said it would consider Zelenskiy’s offer.

“We need to understand whether there is a prospect for such a meeting, we need to understand what kind of new format is being proposed,” the TASS news agency quoted Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying.

“This is a new initiative. Of course, it will be considered, but so far I cannot give any reaction.”

Under the government pressure and multiple threats from government-backed ‘civic activists’, NewsOne announced that it will not participate in the TV link-up. The channel is reportedly linked with Ukrainian opposition politician Viktor Medvedchuk. The Poroshenko bloc often blaimed him for allegedly having so-called pro-Russian views because of Medvedchuk’s peaceful initiatives. The Zelensky team is now employing a same strategy.

The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine even opened a case of suspect of the “treason” over the canceled TV link-up. It reportedly made a call in for questioning of the TV channel’s owner.

The freedom of speech and democracy seem to be the key values in Ukraine.

How Christine Lagarde, Clinton and Nuland Funded a Massive Ukrainian Ponzi Scheme

John Helmer Fri, Jul 5, 2019 |

https://russia-insider.com/en/how-christine-lagarde-clinton-and-nuland-funded-massive-ukrainian-ponzi-scheme/ri27390

The author is the longest serving foreign correspondent covering Russia. He published his fascinating memoirs in December of 2018. They are full of insights into what has really been going on in Moscow over the past 30 years. RI wrote about it here. He is the author of 12 books, 3 of them about Russia.

When Igor Kolomoisky (image below, centre) financed anti-Russian units operating with the Ukrainian Army in the Ukrainian civil war, he was a staunch ally of Petro Poroshenko’s government in Kiev and the Obama Administration’s chief Ukraine policymakers, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (left) and her Assistant Secretary for European Affairs, Victoria Nuland (right).

They in turn dominated the voting on the board of directors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by managing director Christine Lagarde. Following the US regime change which installed Poroshenko’s regime in the spring of 2014, the IMF voted massive loans for the Ukraine to replace the Russian financing on which the regime of Victor Yanukovich had depended. More than a third of the fresh IMF money was paid out by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), the state’s central bank, into PrivatBank controlled by Kolomoisky and his partner, Gennady Bogolyubov.

At the time, investigations of Kolomoisky’s business and banking practices, and the special relationship he cultivated with the NBU, reported he was stealing the money through a pyramid of front companies lending each other the IMF cash which was not intended to be repaid. Clinton, Nuland, Lagarde and the IMF staff and board of directors ignored the evidence, as they continued to top up Kolomoisky’s pyramid. Criminal investigations by the US Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) were also reported at the time; they were neutralized by their superiors.

A new Delaware state court filing a month ago, triggering new US media reports, appears to signal a shift in US Government policy towards Kolomoisky. Or else, as some Ukrainian policy experts believe, it is a move by US officials to put pressure on the new Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, whom Kolomoisky supported in his successful election campaign to replace Poroshenko.

Etc., etc…

Lets start the conversation with Why did Russia invade Ukraine , Did putin not want to pay rent in crimea anymore and his dreams of a land corridor there from Russia did not work that’s why his idiots are in donbass .

grumpy_carpenter

Lets end the conversation by saying Putin seized Crimea and destroyed the Ukraine with a never ending low intensity conflict in the Donbass sending the USA into fits after throwing $ billions into the project. No one will invest in a country in perpetual civil war.

Now the Russians are finishing the job by twinning their Baltic pipeline to Germany bypassing the Ukraine completely cutting off their gas transit revenue which was just bout keeping their country afloat.

The US is doing everything they can to stop the pipeline but no way are the Germans going to allow the Ukraine control over their gas supply. I guess the USA is going to have to find a way to keep the Ukraine afloat without gas revenue … or in grand Ukrainian tradition they flip flop again and elect another Russian friendly government.

The European Union approves the nomination of four senior civil servants

by Thierry Meyssan

Since the European Union has become a super-national structure by the force of Treaties, how can the member-States choose the senior civil servants who are to give them orders? In fact, they are not doing so, but are settling for accepting the choice of NATO, as presented by Germany and France.

VOLTAIRE NETWORK | DAMASCUS (SYRIA) | 9 JULY 2019

ESPAÑOL FRANÇAIS ITALIANO ROMÂNĂ TÜRKÇE عربي

In theory, it had been decided by the United States, Germany and France, before the elections for the European Parliament, that the President of the Commission would be the German Manfred Weber. He had promised to halt construction work on the gas pipeline North Stream 2, and to limit the buying of Russian hydrocarbons by the Union for the benefit of US gas, which is much more expensive in terms of both production and transport.

In order to ensure that European voters remain comatose, an intense propaganda campaign had assured that the President of the Commission would be elected according to « democratic rule » – the winner would be the leader of the most important elected parliamentary group. There was no doubt that this would be Manfred Weber, as head of the conservatives (PPE). Of course, this rule has never been democratic, because democracy would have consisted of specifying a person who had earned the support not of a parliamentary group, but of a majority of voters. However, the Press and the candidates continued to repeat this stupidity, aware as they are that the EU is just a decoy.

But at the last moment, France went back on its promise. President Emmanuel Macron pretended that his parliamentary group (ADLE, now become Renew Europe) had managed to operate a breakthrough strong enough to warrant one of the four most coveted civil servant posts. He therefore arranged to have Manfred Weber insulted by the head of his party’s list, Nathalie Loiseau – who called him an « ectoplasm » and vetoed his nomination. Finally, Weber himself proposed a new German candidate, Ursula von der Leyen, once the nomination of Christine Lagarde at the head of the European Central Bank had been assured.

These two women will therefore be occupying the two most important posts, while the Belgian Charles Michel will preside over the Council of the Heads of State and Government – and also that of the Eurozone – and the Spanish Josep Borrell will be the senior representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. These two functions are purely formal. The Presidency of the Council consists only of distributing microphone time to the speakers and representing the Union abroad. The senior representative is the spokesperson for a policy that everyone knows to be fixed in Washington and not in Brussels.

These nominations were not chosen by the European Council, but by the German Chancellor and the French President during a brief conversation, and then accepted by the Council.

How were these four senior civil servants elected? They have to correspond to two criteria :

– being Atlantists :

– having something to feel guilty about, which makes it possible to blackmail them if ever they were to lose the Atlantist faith.

Being Atlantist

Being Atlantist is an evidence for any European civil servant, since the Treaty of Maastricht and those that followed stipulate that the defence of the Union is to be ensured by NATO, the anti-Russian military alliance.

At the beginning of the year, Ursula von der Leyen published a timely op ed in the New York Times to praise NATO for « defending the world order » [1].

The Atlantism of Christine Lagarde needs no further demonstration, since she began her career as a parliamentary assistant in the US Congress, and became a lobbyist for the US Defence industry against its French equivalent. It was she who convinced Poland to buy Boeing and Lockheed-Martin equipment rather than Airbus and Dassault [2].

Charles Michel is the Prime Minister of NATO’s host country, and is recommended by his father, Louis Michel, an ex-European Commissioner for international cooperation, humanitarian aid and crisis reaction. Josep Borrell, ex-member of the Gal On kibbutz (Negev desert), was at one time the President of the European Parliament, where he ardently defended the principle of European servitude to the Atlantic Alliance.

The four supplicants were invited, naturally enough, to meetings of the Bilderberg group, the NATO club. However, Josep Borrell was unable to attend last month’s meeting because he had been forbidden to do so by his Prime Minister.

« Having an uncomfortable secret »

Even if they trust their employees, the United States always prefer to have a means of pressure should they need to force them back into line. Indeed, it too often happens that some senior civil servants are not content with their astronomical salary, and get it in their heads to serve their compatriots.

A legal enquiry was under way concerning Ursula von der Leyen’s management of the Ministry of Defence. While the German army is notoriously under-equipped, the colossal over-spending in several affairs had already unleashed an enquiry by an audit company who finally agreed that the explanations provided were sufficient. But the discovery that the surveillance for this company was organised by the son of this grand aristocrat had alerted the criminal court. German « rule of law » is organised in such a way that makes it possible for the Chancellery to halt judicial enquiries into members of the government .

Christine Lagarde was found guilty of « negligence » by the French Court of Justice, but was dispensed of punishment. She had decided to bring financial litigation between a public bank and an ex-minister before an arbitration court rather than before the tribunals. The arbitration court condemned the state and found on behalf of the ex-minister, which should never have happened.

I do not know what shady affairs Charles Michel and Josep Borrell are implicated in, but there are bound to be some – the former accepted to direct a minority government, and the latter, while he was at the summit of his career, abandoned political activity for about ten years.

The salaries of each of these four senior civil servants are more than twice that of the French President. It’s not a case of remunerating them for their exceptional qualities, but of making sure that they will use them on behalf of their overlord. That is the price of their treason.

To mark the 70th anniversary of the Victory against Nazism, we publish a study of Valentin Katasonov on financing of the NSDAP and the rearmament of the Third Reich. The author deals with new documents that confirm the organization of the Second World War by US and UK Bankers, covered by President Franklin Roosevelt and Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, in the hope of destroying the USSR. This study raises new questions that will be addressed in a future article.

Yeah, poor empires always being betrayed by small countries that don’t want to be their faithful slave forever, all Russian neighbors are traitors!

occupybacon

It started when Ukraine’s parliament ratified a free trade treaty with the EU, Georgia and Moldavia and Putin asked their pro-Russian president, Ianukovic to veto the treaty. Riots erupted in Kiev and in the rest of the country, especially the West. Ianukovic enacted a Putin inspired law which banned all protests and called pro-Russian Berkut paramilitary force to suppress the protesters. Unlike Russians, Ukrainians didn’t gave up their right to protest, they fought Berkut for months until exhausted them then overthrown Ianukovic and disbanded Berkut militias – which joined pro-Russia militias in Donbas. Then Russia invaded Crimea and sent GRU and veterans in Donbas to fight along the ex-Berkut against the pro-West Ukrainian government. If you have a different version, I’m interested.

grumpy_carpenter

Would you be surprised if a 1980’s vintage F-14 could jam a 1940’s radar? Why are you surprised that in 2015 a Russian aircraft can jam a radar built on 1970’s Aegis architecture?

occupybacon

Because the article itself sounds like total bullshit made for retarded kids, it starts with a bad photoshopeded image and ends with some specialized sources claim that Pentagon admitted that the sailors needed psychological treatment and they signed a letter to Pentagon that they will never get close to Russia again – and since then, no US ship got close to Russia again.

grumpy_carpenter

The Donald Cook was buzzed by an unarmed SU-24 which too 12 runs at the ship. The pentagon has confirmed this happened.

A few months after this happened there was a flurry of media articles about how the USA was falling behind Russian EW tech, along with reports from the Donbass about how the Russian caused complete communications, gps and radar blackouts along with terrifying text messages prior to artillery barrages or threats to relatives of soldiers.

Then in Syria you had incidents like the “76 tomahawk missile barrage” on a 4 storey university campus office building made out of concrete block and glass. Two missiles should have flattened the building but the USA insists 76 missiles hit that target …. there are pictures gutted but still standing. That would have been 38 tons of explosives or a small nuke.

The Russians say they used Russian EW and Syrian air defences to take down most of the missiles the USA insists all the missiles hit their targets.

Obviously in both the Donald Cook incident and the “76 missile attack” on Syria someone was lying. With reports from the battlefield and the Pentagon both complaining about “eye watering” Russian EW it’s obvious the Russians do have some pretty good EW gear. They deployed a system in up north that shut down GPS and other communications all over Norway during a NATO exercise and some are blaming the Russians for a Norwegian destroyer running aground in a channel that’s well marked and used every day for shipping.

While I don’t believe the Russians shut down all the systems on the Donald Cook and caused the entire crew to shit their pants and resign I do believe they were able to disable the Aegis radar.

occupybacon

Let’s hold to one subject ok? I didn’t deny Russia has advanced EW tech and the capacity to jam radars or that the tomahawk barge on Syrian empty buildings was a great success. I’m talking about how naive are Russian readers that believe the fake story from an obscure blog that use the verbiage “according to some specialized sources”. I never said the DC was not buzzed by the Russian plane.

You saw the “flurry of media articles about how the USA was falling behind Russian EW tech” because you read only Russian media, instead, on my news feed was a multitude of article on which the NATO ships are buzzed by Russian airplanes in Black Sea and Baltic Sea.

I understand some people with weak morale need this kind of article, but this with blinding the Donald Cook was as low as those Western articles claiming US killed 200-500 Russian mercenaries that attacked Kurds near the Euphrates bridge, when in fact they couldn’t be more than 4-24 maximum – without presenting any aftermath footage, even Houthis can show 2-3 dead Saudis mercs, at any time even if they kill just 5-20 at a time – only the Russian fake story had some Ski-Fy perfume that reminded me of Red Alert 2 in which I was frying NATO troops with Tesla Coils, did you had the chance to play that gem?

grumpy_carpenter

“Let’s hold to one subject ok? ” Simply putting forth an argument my friend.

Both sides release contradicting reports any time they clash or even come together. The truth usually lies somewhere between the two.

The Russian depiction of a pod that can somehow disable a ships generator or electrical system without EMP just doesn’t make sense however the US narrative that the Russians are primitive oafs that can’t jam the radars of a ship with a 40 year old air defence platform when they have shown to have excellent EW capabilities is equally absurd.

One thing to consider in regards to US propaganda is that the USA has a volunteer military service and they are having such trouble keeping their reenlistment numbers up that they now offer a $40,000 signing bonus for infantry …. not fighter pilots, officers or Navy Seals but INFANTRY.

Recruitment and retention of talent is much easier if you can convince the recruits that their aircraft are invisible, their ships are unsinkable and missile defence works. Who in their right mind would volunteer for a service that gets it’s drones hacked, it’s aircraft shot down and it’s ships defences rendered useless by a 1970’s vintage Soviet bomber?

“did you had the chance to play that gem?” No. I’m not a gamer.

occupybacon

So you are inspired by an article that claim the Pentagon acknowledged the US marines almost pissed their pants that says “it’s ships defences rendered useless by a 1970’s vintage Soviet bomber?”

And regarding “it’s aircraft shot down” how man US aircraft got shot down and how many Russian?

grumpy_carpenter

I wouldn’t call it “inspiration”. I read an account by Russian sources that was sensational and suggested that the Russian plane left the US ship dead in the water using some sort of ray gun and one by pentagon that we dominated the Russians and btw our ships omnipotent against puny Russian weapons. The truth is somewhere between the two stories.

“And regarding “it’s aircraft shot down” how man US aircraft got shot down and how many Russian?”

the question here is how far back do you go. If you go back to the 1960’s/ 70’s the Russians have shot down far more US aircraft than they’ve lost by thousands. However during the 1980’s and 90’s the US air force performed really well …. thanks to Adolph Tolkachev. Since 2010 the Russians seemed to have recovered from the Tolkachev damage and it is again going to be very costly for any US aircraft to attack defended airspace.

There is something called the “law of competitive balance” in which the successful force keeps doing what made them successful while their competitors change and adapt to the successful force. This is what we are seeing today between the USA, China and Russia. The USA has been dominant for awhile but technology like Aegis, AC carriers and stealth haven’t changed much in 40 years. If they remain dominant for any longer it’ll be the first time in history that happened. Barring economic collapse dominance will return to the USA …. then back to Russia and China.

occupybacon

I’m interested in the article by Pentagon that made you tilt the balance into believing the Russian sensationalist article is partly true. Do you have any link?

Regarding this:
“Who in their right mind would volunteer for a service that gets it’s drones hacked, it’s aircraft shot down and it’s ships defences rendered useless by a 1970’s vintage Soviet bomber?”

Half of the lost Russian aircraft in Syria were not shot down by the enemy but because bad maintenance and bad technology. Who in the right mind go fight NATO knowing their government doesn’t give a shit on his life?

Also I think your last sentence refers to the event that you claimed yourself as sensationalist, but you can’t refain totally believing it since your half human brain was ordered to believe anything the crappy sites(cause they are looking like crap comparing to the Western news sites) order you to repeat like a machine.

grumpy_carpenter

To find the pentagon statement on the DC incident search “DC black sea russia 2016” then click on the news tab in results. Somewhere in there you’ll find the press release.

“Half of the lost Russian aircraft in Syria were not shot down by the enemy but because bad maintenance and bad technology. Who in the right mind go fight NATO knowing their government doesn’t give a shit on his life?”

The USA and Russia see war and defence differently

The USA is essentially an island while Russia has been at the crossroads of civilization for 2000 years. because of it’s position in the world Russia gets invaded every 100 years and Russians have to fight not just to win to survive.

The USA has rarely in history been attacked on their soil let alone invaded.

Considering their different goestrategic positions in the world they have of course different military doctrines. The USA has a offensive military doctrine and a employs professional soldiers while the Russians have a defensive doctrine and has a compulsory military service with a core of professional soldiers.

Only 70 years ago the Russians fought a existential war against a country that planned to depopulate the country and replace Russians with ethnic Germans. They lost 28 million souls in that war. They have fought similar wars every century or so. it’s always a little different …. the mongols for example didn’t want to kill all the Russians they wanted to tax them.

So back to today Russians see military service as their duty to the country. Russians don’t protest the draft, they consider it their duty to serve.

The USA OTOH fights wars in far flung places all over the globe. They tried fighting these wars with a conscript army but the people rejected being drafted to fight wars over markets and resources in countries they couldn’t even find on a map. By the mid 1970’s the US military dropped the draft and recruited a professional army.

So the reason Russian tolerate casualties much better than the US does is because the Russians fight for their country. Fighting and dying for their country when asked is in their duty. Since Vietnam Americans have had a very bad aversions to Americans being killed overseas hence the US military will spend a mountain of taxpayer’s cash to keep US servicemen from being killed.

No before you tell me that Crimea and Syria have nothing to do with the defence of the motherland … they do. Every Russian know that the Crimea dominates the Black Sea and Russia has been invaded through the Crimea by the Turks and British in the past so there was no way the Crimea, especially Sebastopol, was going to end up in NATO hands. Especially after the blood soaked battles of WW2. More Russians died defending the Crimea than the Americans lost in the entire war.

And if you read Putin’s stated objectives of the Syrian campaign he said that the mission was to insure the 25,000 Chechens with Russian passports fighting for ISIS would never return home alive and that there was a stable government in it’s southern near abroad. He said “If not Assad them who” which means that Russia didn’t care that Assad stayed in power but leaving him in power was better than leaving a failed state. So the Syrian mission is the defence of the motherland in the near abroad …. something that Russians have been doing for the last 500 years.
