Ukraine’s Zelensky To Attend Arab League Summit In Saudi Arabia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will attend the Arab League summit in Saudi Arabia on May 19, according to Reuters.

Citing a source familiar with the meeting, the news agency said that Zelenskiy “is on his way to the Arab League summit” in the Saudi city of Jeddah. Following the Arab League in Jeddah, the Ukrainian president will head to Japan to attend the 49th G7 summit in Japan.

The participation of the Ukrainian president was not disclosed before. It is still unclear if he will be speaking at the summit. However, it is very likely he is attending to ask Arab leaders for financial and military support against Russia, which launched a special military operation in Ukraine last year.

In Jeddah, Zelensky will likely come face to face with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, a close ally of Moscow. Al-Assad arrived in the kingdom a day earlier to attend his first Arab League summit since the war in his country broke out more than a decade ago.

Syria was readmitted into the Arab League earlier this month despite the objection of the United States, United Kingdom and the European Union, all of whom are key allies of Kiev.

Ukrainian-Syrian relations began to deteriorate in 2016 when Damascus decided to recognize the Crimean Peninsula as a part of Russia. Two years later, Ukraine refused to revalidate residencies of Syrian diplomatic staff in Kiev.

Last year, President Zelensky said Kiev will cut ties after Syria recognized the Russian-backed Donetsk People’s Republic and Luhansk People’s Republic. Damascus immediately responded in kind.

In March of this year, Kiev imposed sanctions on al-Assad and other senior Syrian officials. Tensions between the two countries intensified again in April when a leaked U.S. intelligence document revealed a plot by Ukrainian intelligence to attack Russian bases as well as oil and gas fields in Syria with help from a U.S. proxy group, the Kurdish-led Syrian democratic Forces.

zelensky at the arab league… lol you can’t make this up, it’s like how they made the movie “leprechaun: in space”, completely ridiculous parody!! i guess orders came from usa that since they allowed syria to join now they must allow ukronazistan to come too as compensation. xd
zelensky is just going from vacation to vacation while the non-jews in ukraine are marched to their slaughter by nato’s henchmen.

who invited him?!!
the arab people don’t want to have anything to do with the banderist kiev regime.
this nazi has no place in our league and those who invited him don’t represent us.

neo-nazi cells multiply in brazil.the collective west pretends that ukraine is the bastion of democracy. the nazi regime is the part that doesn’t make the papers.it also does not come out that this war started in odesa in 2014 with the massacre and subsequent extermination of populations unwanted by the regime. and that for 8 years they did nothing. the time for this staging of this odious actor will come. when the strong fail, the weak pay the price! z

if the saudis see zelensky and a softening on zionism as a gateway to their western ideas and ambitions they should go back to herding goats.

1. part : currently in “arab league” are “22” “arab countries” : algeria, bahrain, comoros, djibouti, egypt, iraq, jordan, kuwait, lebanon, libya, mauritania, morocco, oman, palestine, qatar, saudi arabia, somalia, sudan, syria*, tunisia, the united arab emirates, and yemen.

2. part : why they invited ukraine to attend in saudi arabia arab league summit as a non-arab country ? some proposal for peace plan with few arab countries that ukraine is bullying. and maybe proposal of peace plan between russia and ukraine, but this is off the table, because russia is not yet invited, or maybe not off the table but would help to explain multipolarity to help bring negotiation.

bring back capital letters southfront.org .

don’t think its purpose zelensky to attend in saudi arabia arab league summit is for another pow’s exchange between ukraine and russia. its some bigger plan, but involves arab countries that ukraine is not respecting.

John Kesich

what’s the big mystery? the only thing zelensky knows how to do is beg for more aid and arms.

Gordana

don’t think it would be hidden behind invitation to arab league summit. lets hope not. but to restore wars to peace.

Chris Gr

most of these countries are not even arab. outside of middle east arabs don’t exist.

Gordana

stop trolling.

Chris Gr

i am not trolling

Gordana

which one is not and explain why ?

Chris Gr

north africans are not arabs. syrian/lebanese/jordanians/palestinians are aramo-phoenicians, iraqis are assyrians/chaldeans. north africans are not even semite. egyptians, sudanese, algerians, moors all hamites.

Sage

arrest elensky while he is there.

arabs should stick together. don’t let the jewish rulers of ukraine (and the us) pull you into war with russia and china. and don’t send any money or weapons there. send them to syria, instead.
