Ukraine Parliament Adopts Law To Restore "Sovereignty" Over the Donetsk And Lugansk Regions

On January 18, the Parliament of Ukraine adopted a new law that calls for “restoring the sovereignty of Ukraine over the Donetsk and Lugansk regions”, according to Ukrainian sources. The new law allows President Petro Poroshenko to use the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military units against the Donbas region and considers it an “occupied region”.

Moreover, the new law allows the Ukrainian authorities to charge all people currently working in the administrations of the self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Lugansk with criminal offenses. The Ukrainian authorities will not recognize any documents issued by the authorities of the two self-proclaimed republics, according to the new law.

The Russian Foreign Ministry criticized the new law in an official statement and described it as “preparation for a new war”. The statement also stressed that the law proves that Kiev is determined to resolve the conflict in eastern Ukraine with force.

The ministry added that the new law violates the Minsk Agreements and destroys the entire international mechanism of the Ukrainian conflict resolution, including the Normandy Four format.

The tension in the Donbas region increased when US President Donald Trump approved a plan to sell FGM-148 Javelin anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) to Ukraine in late December 2017. Since then, Kiev has started taking more aggressive steps that violate the spirt of the Minsk Agreements.

Maybe it’s time for Russia to recognise DPR and LPR, and for DPR and LPR to organise some referenda, as Kiev has, with this law, officially scrapped the Minsk deal.

Tudor Miron

Thing is that in 2014 they did hold a referendum and overwhelming majority voted against Kiev’s Hunta.

Neil

They should vote to join RF, then Russia can defend them.

dutchnational

Let Kurds then vote for an independent 52end US state. Then US can defend them too.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

US has no intention of doing anything like that or Peurto Rico and many others would have already been included, this is reserved for the US region only.

There are rumors that Ukrainian sovereignty will be restored from within Novorossia. i.e. Ukro nazi will attack again but this time Donetsk and Lugansk fighters would not stop but go up to Kiev :) this restoring the order present before nazi coup of 2014. Crimea was different – our Black sea fleet was there for 100s of year. Russia’s claims originated from battle at Molodi https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Битва_при_Молодях In 1954 one crazy commy (Hruschov) gave it away to Ukraine but that was within one state and wasn’t changing much or it seemed like that. Indeed this snakeheads make long term plans :) We (Russia) should not take Novorossia away from Ukraine. Thing is that Ukrainians are part of us – Russians is a multinational entity. We should not divide our brothers – Novorossia and the rest of Ukraine (at list up to Dnepr river). We should let them reunite (above scenario), realize what’s best for them, restore civilized order (instead of anarchy thy have there now) and than we can keep happily living together as we did for many centuries.

Solomon Krupacek

no way. Tr. Putin KGB already sold them for western technology for russian energy industry.

Bob

What garbled rubbish are you banging on about today…?!

dutchnational

Hi hi.

Just like the Crimea referendum.

98% in favour of Russia when everybody knows the 12% Crimean Tatars just hate Russians. The 15% Ukrainians would also never have voted for Russia either.

Or were only “russians” allowed to vote?

Solomon Krupacek

tatars did not participate

hhabana

Too fucking bad they didn’t make their voices heard then.

Tudor Miron

They did partisipate and majority voted pro Russia.

Solomon Krupacek

miron mororn, you lie again

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimean_status_referendum,_2014

check rt.ru news from taht time, also they referred the boycott of tatars.

Tudor Miron

You offer me that jewpedia article as facts? It’s not even funny, my zio friend.
Now why don’t you provide us with a link to that rt.ru news from that time other than saying that there are such reports of Tatars baycott what ever that means.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

You just make up stuff as you go along you western stooge , people like you are the reason Nazi ideology has always stayed strong in the west and US.

Tudor Miron

Dutchy :) farting in the puddle again? 12% of Crimean Tatars hate Russians??? Give me a brake, buddy and tell this fairytales to some ignorant European :). I have relatives in Crimea and I know exactly what is going on there.

Your problem is that even your wetern conducted polls revealed same numbers as official referendum. Your lies are simply baseless.

Bob

Cite some actual electoral sources for your claims of the percentage voting records of Tartars and Ukrainians in Crimean referendum. Your subjective claim that,’…everybody knows the 12% Crimean Tatars just hate Russians. The 15% Ukrainians would also never have voted for Russia either…’. are not simply good enough as credible data.

Just because the current Ukraine government does not love Putin, does not make it a junta. Do you know what a junta is?

Bob

A junta is a political and or military faction that takes power by force – which is basically what happened in the US sponsored Maiden coup. When selected agitators and predetermined players manufacture a ‘crisis’ circumstance to grab power by force. The current Ukrainian junta was hand picked by (Neo-Con) US State Department officials – they even brought in favored foreign nationals to take high ranking Cabinet positions – after rushing through their Ukrainian ‘citizenship’ in special legislation. As reported from from BBC: ‘US-born Natalie Jaresko became finance minister, Lithuania’s Aivaras Abromavicius economy minister and Aleksandre Kvitashvili – from Georgia – health minister. Hours before the vote in the parliament that installed them, all three were granted Ukrainian citizenship by President Petro Poroshenko.’ See:

Current Kiev hunta came to power as a result of violent bloody coup where legitimate freely elected president and government was overthrown. Those events were orchestrated by US/EU and Victoria Nuland openly stated that US spent over 5 bln $ to “promote democracy” in Ukraine. Parts of Ukraine didn’t obey new world order coming from Kiev.
As a result, nationalist battalions (Right sector is owned and openly financed by high ranked Chabad member – Kolomoysky) together with Ukro army started to clean eastern Ukraine from their fellow Slavs – Russians that live there from times of Russian Empire. Locals resisted (with a little moral help from Mother Russia – here and there in critical moments) in DNR and LNR but in the rest of Ukraine they managed to recreate Khazarian kaganat v3 (v2 was busted by Stalin) in our sister country.
Kiev is going to attack again. And it will fail again. This time Donentsk fighters would not stop and Kiev will not get Minsk 3 agreements to ignore. They had their chance and still have – in terms of implementing Minsk 2 which they signed. But Zios love when goyims (Slavs in particular) are killing each other and they will demand their rats to attack.

the ukranians are very confident with their news toys (javelin), so we will see another stupid war, what a waste of ukranian lives (both sides)

Javelin is OP. If Ukraine gets attacked by Russian tanks again, Donbass region would be littered with burning Russian tanks.

Bob

Javelin is simply a single tactical weapons system – a shoulder fired weapons system alone cannot win or alter the politics of a complex ethnic territorial dispute – an ATGM system will not change the political motivations of the breakaway republics. Tactical weapons systems breed tactical responses – basic challenge and response principle.

Nick

Javelin is a pissed off RPG, not much more. The only reason the sale was allowed to go through was because it wouldn’t too drastically alter the balance of power in the region.

Nick

Ain’t the toys that will make the difference though.

Nick

In the end Ukraine will have to accept the fact that Crimea and the Republics are gone to them. Each day that passes with the Republics still in existence is one step closer to political legitimacy on the world stage for them and a defeat for Ukraine. IF Ukraine was smart they’d realize that they aren’t going to win this militarily and find a way to make peace with the new republics. Their EU and US handlers will only lead them further down a dark path.
