The United States military used anti-radar missiles and glide munitions during its January 3 operation in Venezuela which ended with the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.
Venezuela media released a photo showing the remains of a AGM-88-series anti-radar missile which were found at a three-story civilian apartment building, where one civilian was killed and another seriously wounded, in the city of Catia La Mar.
The missile was most likely from the latest AGM-88E version, known as the Advanced Anti Radiation Guided Missiles (AARGM).
This version has a top speed of Mach 2.9 and a maximum range of up to 148 kilometers, depending on the flight profile. It carries a 68-kg warhead.
In addition to its main passive radar homing, the AARGM is equipped with a GPS-aided inertial navigation system (INS). This allows the missile to hit radiation-emitting targets even if they were turned off. It also enables it to attack all sorts of static ground targets, if their coordination were installed before launch.
The main feature of the AARGM is its active millimeter radar seeker that allows it to engage moving radiation-emitting targets.
Despite all of these features, the missile clearly failed to hit its intended target, most likely a radar station or an air defense system, and instead impacted the building.
Additionally, a video released by Venezuelan authorities revealed that the Venezuelan Institute of Scientific Research, located near the city of San Antonio de Los Altos, was targeted with a AGM-154 Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) glide munition. It is unclear if anyone was killed in the strike.
The munition was from the latest AGM-154C version, which features a terminal Infrared seeker in addition to a GPS-aided INS. This version of the JSOW is armed with a Bomb Royal Ordnance Augmented Charge, commonly known as BROACH, multi-stage warhead. It has a range of 130 kilometers.
The AGM-88E missile was likely fired from one of the EA-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft which were deployed at José Aponte de la Torre Airport in Puerto Rico, while the AGM-154C was likely launched from one of the F/A-18E Super Hornet fighter jet operating out of the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier.
The U.S. military used brute force during the special operation in Venezuela, killing dozens there, including at least two civilians.
Venezuela’s interior minister Diosdado Cabello said on January 7 that 100 people died in the operation. Previous reports put the toll at 70 or 80 tops.
The Venezuelan military posted a list of 23 names of its dead, while Cuba has said 32 members of its military and intelligence services lost their lives there.
The U.S. also took some losses, with recent reports revealing that seven personnel from Delta Force, an elite military unit that led the operation, were wounded. A Pentagon official told MS Now on January 7 that two are still recovering, while five have recovered from their injuries.
More details about the U.S. military operation will likely surface in the near future, especially that the Venezuelan government had ordered the arrest of everyone who aided the capture of Maduro. Even the death toll in particular could still rise in the coming days.

“the u.s. also took some losses, with recent reports revealing that seven personnel from delta force, an elite military unit that led the operation, were wounded.”
32 cuban special forces were killed. don’t tell me that they couldn’t eliminate some of the american bitches? because that’s how the us is bsitting the people.
recent months saw a large u.s. military build up in the caribbean, with socom deploying assists in puerto rico and near trinidad and tobago…………………………… https://psee.io/8jqu9r
its very strange, how a attack force, in urban environment, do not take more heavy losses than the defenders. it only needs one soldier with a heavy machine gun, recognize the foxes on their way to the hen house.
all was staged
taking out the radars makes a lot of sense. once the enemies anti aircraft radar are destroyed you have some air superiority and then can use your aircraft more effectively.
helicopters are possible to shoot down on visual sight. i suggest that venezuela, or any other country attacked, shoot back next time, if they do not want to get murdered by the nazis. it had be possible to shoot down all of those helicopters, if they after months of threats, had have patrulls and positions ready.
stand down order. no other explanation with tens of thousands of manpads over the shoulders.
i was similarly thinking the most likely explanation was that certain military brass were paid off
at this rate the roosters 🐓 will be coming back home to roost.
