U.S. Acknowledge Another Soldiers Was Killed Amid Fighting With Iran

A United States service member was killed and another was injured in northern Iraq on July 18 while disposing of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian attack drone, Central Command announced.

“A US service member in northern Iraq was killed in action July 18 during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone,” CENTCOM said in a post on the US social media platform X on July 19.

“A second service member was wounded and continues to receive medical treatment for a minor injury,” it added.

CENTCOM also provided an update on the July 17 Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks in Jordan that killed two U.S. service members and left another missing. The command said it had previously announced the deaths of two service members and the missing status of a third following the attack.

“After a thorough search, US military personnel found unidentified remains at the location earlier today. An examination process to verify the remains is ongoing,” CENTCOM said.

It added it was withholding additional information, including the identities of the missing and those killed, out of respect for their families during the notification process.

The latest death brought the number of American troops confirmed killed in the Middle East during the ongoing limited confrontation with Iran to three, and the total number killed since the start of the war on the Islamic Republic to 17. The toll will likely rise, as all evidence suggests the service member who went missing after the recent attack in Jordan was also killed.

Iran intensified missile and drone attacks on Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region, mainly hitting Iranian Kurdish opposition groups, although the Islamic Republic has so far refrained from claiming responsibility.

Kurdistan serves as a key hub for U.S. operations against Iran, and reports from earlier this year revealed that the region was the staging ground for an ill-fated American-Israeli plot to orchestrate an invasion by Kurdish militants into the Islamic Republic.

President Donald Trump said last week that the U.S. no longer believes it needs a military presence in Iraq, arguing Iran has been weakened enough.

In a White House meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi on July 14, Trump said the U.S. partnership with Iraq would shift away from military cooperation toward investment and energy development, while al-Zaidi said: “The 30th of September, the U.S. forces would be out of Iraq.”

Still, it is unclear whether the withdrawal will include Kurdistan, which is the main part of Iraq currently hosting American troops.

americans will never be honestly informed. keeping soldiers alive is primary for count. limbless vegetables are kept alive to suffer. i have seen this personally. if they can speak, they get medals, meet politicians who walk away.

they haven’t been “honest” with ukraine… or for that matter any accurate casualties mia’s since vietnam!… the die was cast after 9/11 that made being a piece of meat much worse when the designation “war on terror” got added to the mix… which begs the question how the american people have never even been curious enough to ask why their .gov’s state of emergency continues as unending on it’s 25th year with no disparate voices or calls for it’s repeal?…

the cost of chumpo’s “little excursion” into iran is getting a bit steep …… heheheheh. many seriously wounded also being evacuated. can’t give the figure here without the censorship queens at sf censoring it out. but it’s a figure between four hundred and twenty nine and four hundred and thirty one.r
