Late on August 13, the Turkish military deployed additional reinforcements in the northwestern Syrian region of Greater Idlib, where several terrorist groups are known to be present and active.

The reinforcements, which entered Greater Idlib from the al-Bab al-Hawa border crossing, included more than 25 self-propelled howitzers, battle tanks and armored personnel carriers. The vehicles were deployed at several positions of the Turkish military in the southern countryside of Idlib.

While the vehicles were being deployed, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) shelled different parts of the southern Idlib countryside. However, no losses were reported.

The Turkish military maintains more than 70 positions across Greater Idlib, most of them are located near key frontlines. Turkey is supposedly present in the region to monitor a ceasefire that was brokered with help from Russia more than two years ago. However, its presence has been preventing the SAA and its allies from resuming their operations against terrorist groups in the region, like al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).

According to the latest briefing by the Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria, HTS and its allies violated the ceasefire at least three times in the recent days.

It’s worth noting that Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu talked about a possible rapprochement with Damascus and called for “reconciliation” in Syria. His remarks were met with a backlash from Syrian rebels, especially the supporters of terrorist groups like HTS.

The Turkish military may have deployed reinforcements in Greater Idlib just to reassure its proxies there that it is not planning on abandoning them in favor of Damascus.

The Objective

The slimey devil Turks are giving mixed messages, their FM is talking to Dr. Assad’s democratically elected popular government and at the same time supporting CIA sponsored terrorists and stealing oil from Syria along with the US. Mad Erdogan and Jew rat Zelensky are both Zionist rats and need to be taken out.

Perhaps Syria should cap or plug the wells not under it’s control and target pump-jacks and oilfield equipment to see if that slows the violence.

Is this more of a response to the SAA beefing up its reserves in the region?

It would be very easy for the Turkish admin to abandon their terrorists friends in Idlib. What’s to say that these weapons won’t be used to clear the place out as part of a reconciliation with Damascus?

The Turkish admin should know that these terrorist, who are now armed to the teeth, won’t sit around waiting to be mopped up. Those border crossings which have been a boon for smuggling oil and transporting arms and troops, will be an achilles heel for the Turkish admin. Hoards of disgruntled terrorists wanting to pick a bone with Erdogan won’t be good for re-election.
