Turkish Kirpi Armored Vehicles Spotted On Donbas Front Lines

Turkish Army Kirpi MRAP on duty somewhere in southern Turkey.

On August 9, the first columns of Turkish-made Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles Kirpi was spotted in Ukraine with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the Zelensky’s party Servant of the People Yuri Misyagin, 50 armored vehicles are already on the front lines. 150 more vehicles will be reportedly delivered from Turkey in the near future.

The Turkish Army employs these vehicles for operations in the Syrian provinces of Aleppo and Idlib.

BMC Kirpis are mostly used by Turkish troops in the joint Turkish-Russian patrol missions in Syria and other operations. During the past years, Turkey supplied its ‘moderate proxies’ in the Syrian provinces of Aleppo and Idlib with various weapons and equipments in mass, including with Kirpis.

The Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle Kirpi is designed and manufactured by BMC for the needs of the Turkish Ground Forces. It features an armoured hull which provides protection against armor-piercing rounds and artillery shell splinters. The V-shape bottom portion provides protection against grenades and land mines.

The Kirpi features shock absorber seats and interior accessories, a GPS system, rear view camera, and an automatic fire suppression system. The vehicle has five firing ports and four bulletproof windows on each side of the troop compartment as well as a shielded position for the gunner on the rooftop. Depending on the modification, the Kirpi can be armed with a 7.62mm or 12.7mm machine gun or remotely-controlled weapons stations. Passengers enter and leave the troop compartment through a hydraulically operated ramp at the rear of the hull.

Kirpi specifications:

  • Mass: around 16,000kg
  • Length: 6.0-7.075m (depending on the version)
  • Width: 2.51m
  • Height: 86m
  • Crew: 3 + 10-12
  • Maximum speed: 100km/h
  • Operational range: 800km

Well it’s one of the business activities of the Turks trying to keep the ravaged economy afloat although there’s an undeniable color of politics on it,

On a side note, Turkey has its own right to promote its national interest that sometimes viewed by others as betrayal of friendship, just like when it purchased S-400s air defence system from Russia behind a strong objection from friends in NATO.

Moreover, the Turks are more than happy to sell the Russians whatever it desire to buy from its wide arrays of military merchandise from Bayraktar drones to light weapons.

Who is the shit John boy ?business is business

Paul

Turks are snakes and unfortunately Russia is weak and is groveling to a backstabbing neo-Ottoman delusional Erdogan. Maybe Russia has forgotten that Turkey is the second largest NATO cannon fodder and has ambitions over lands it lost to the Czars.

Yup, that’s it, game over now. Those trucks are unbeatable.

None here in my part of the world says so. They are important fast transporters for troops and equipment.

They are not figting vehicles at all. Try the difference Yourself. You walk many kilomaters by bus or Yoiu walk many kilomters by feet.

You also has to add time. and everything becomes more flexible.

Those are not fighting vehicles. Those as minimum has a small canon, a heavy and a light machinegun and a small mortar. They also are heavey armed compared to those Kirpis.

Ron

Like those Turkish drones, they are play drones for children. Turks support Russia for sure only when it is helpful for them.

jens holm

Its not like that. Turks do produce a lot of good lilitary vehicles the Firtina included. They also produce a lot of Toyotas.

They are able to make well known drones in the big and limited version best to the price.

Turkey here deliever what they can as anyone else in Nato and others.

So You have to add up with the rest of us. We have contributed with what we can as well. We are small. Even so we have given standard equipment as we have it in new as well as old stuff. We also has given money.

That will continue. Its on the budget.

We also takes care of the refugees even we only has about 30.000 of them.

None says as You in the most infantile version kind assume. Light armed transporters is a part of the show as well. So they cant drive or what. Who says?

I read it here every day. Everything from West is bad and in malfuction. Most people here live naked in the streets hardly having an umbrella for winter protection.

Around them jews are driving and laughing in their golden bathtubs.

Many here are very sick. Thats why we have so many hospitals as well.

Ron

Thank you for the humor – it is needed. Thumbs up.

Being in one of those high sided US style school busses is a death trap in a shooting war. Such vehicles are for civilian crowd control only.

Erdo must have been paid before delivery as he is not stupid enough to gamble on Hope to get paid by the ukies on credit terms, LOL.

Slava Rossiya.

Vanya

Are you sure these aren’t for the Russians? The Russians just gave the Turks 100 billion USD (!?!?!?!?!). Maybe this is just the first delivery?

CIA pays me to improve your lies

Vanya

They aren’t lies, the Russians really did give the Turks 100 billion dollars just last week. Supposedly it is to be used to build a Turkish nuclear power plant in Turkey and the Russians get to pay for it because the Turks are using a Russian design. That is the clever way the Kremlin does business.

Erdo-Dog is definitively the most efferate scumbag of the war. Putin meets him while him sells the weapons to the clown in Kiev.

With the UAV’s and now the MRAP’s, Russia should share their expertise in destroying Turkish equipment with Armenia.

Pro-American Armenia doesn’t care much for the Russians. There is no real need for the Russians to do anything to promote Armenia land claims.

Someone please explain to me again the “business” relationship between the Russian Federation and Turkey when it comes to… killing of it’s own military personnel with the first “shot” heard round the World with the downing of the SU-24 pilots in 2015… murdering of it’s Diplomats Andre Karlov… Which culminated in the for profit exchange of SA-400 batteries to the Turkish government within 3 years of those events…

Keeping score… I see that 61 Turkish military were killed in Ukraine within the last 6 months https://southfront.org/2408-foreign-mercenaries-left-in-ukraine-russian-mod/???….

If Joseph Heller were to write a sequel to “Catch 22” it would have to be the post-9/11 target rich environment of the Central Banks that control the World’s governments with NO sovereignty to be found ANYWHERE!

amerikans cannot think

Matt

I could say the same of those at the top of the Russian Federation as well in that dichotomy between Russian forces being killed in Ukraine and Syria by a “NATO agent” since 2015 that also doubles as a business partner for buying the most advanced Russian military hardware that has the potential of being exploited if the Turkish government doesn’t get what it wants in that “partnership”!?…

Where does Russia draw the line?…

61 Turkish military in Ukraine?new news where you get information Mickey mouse secret agency

Matt

Ask SouthFront where they get it…

i am confused

so I looked at the losses and Nato basically sent a brigade over (8000) men and lost almost 2 regiments (5200) worth of men and still have one regiment of at 70% strength. I say good job Russia destroying almost full NATO brigade.

Most of them will be destroyed and seom wil be captured so Russia will get hem for free thanks Turkey. Maybe next tiem just send them for free directly to Russia when the USSA pays.

When Russia blasts them to bits it won’t help their sales for Turkey as they will be shown to be pretty much useless for real combat and only worth having if they are free.
