Pro-Turkish militant groups and the Turkish army have seized the al-Bab roundabout at the southern entrance to this ISIS-held town in the Syrian province of Aleppo. Turkish forces are also in control of the Aqeel Mountain, the Al-Bab Silos and parts of the western neighborhoods of al-Bab.

Meanwhile, Syrian army troops are reportedly deployed near the town of Tadif south of al-Bab. Yesterday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that government troops de-facto destroyed ISIS defenses in Tadif. However, after liberation of Tadif, they will not enter al-Bab because they had reached a demarcation line with pro-Turkish forces.

“On February 11, during an offensive operation in the northwest of the Aleppo province, the Syrian Armed Forces, supported by aviation of the Russian Aerospace Force, have liberated from ISIS terrorists the populated locality of Tadef [Tadif], the militants’ most reinforced position near the city of Al-Bab,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

However, there was not a visual confirmation of the liberation of the town (Temporarily it’s marked black at the map). According some reports, fighting is ongoing there.

The Turkish newspaper “Hurriyet” says that the demarcation line looks next way:

That’s right, and having Tabqa would allow them to reach Deir Ezzor from two directions.
