Turkish crackdown on Kurds victimizes Syrian civilians

Ankara’s military crackdown not only kills terrorists but civilians across the border of Syria also fall victim, says RT.com

Ankara also banned journalists and human rights organizations from reporting the assault against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the Nusaybin district in the southeastern Turkish province of Mardin.

The reporters observe the so-called anti-terrorist operation from the relative safety of a Syrian town of Qamishli ,  200 meters away from the Turkish army’s positions.

Russian media RT.com has obtained exclusive footages that show the Turkish military operation against the Kurds.

As a result of the cross-border artillery fire, at least two people including a child have been killed in Qamishli, which has continued at regular pace since the beginning of the assault from the early March on Nusaybin. Indiscriminate artillery fire destroyed many houses, mosques, and other civilian infrastructure.

In November 2015, Turkish government placed the curfew on Nusaybin and military operations against the PKK fighters continuing in the district.

However, after an ended ceasefire agreement, Turkey began the military campaign against PKK fighters in mid-2015 and revived an old conflict that has claimed more than 40,000 lives.
