Turkish-backed Militants Seek to Encircle ISIS Units near Azaz

Turkish-backed militants, supported by the Turkish Armed Forces, took control of the villages of Qabtan and Mezre Ela in the northern part of Syria’s province of Aleppo on October 5, deploying in merely 5 km from the strategic town of Dabiq. The Ankara-led forces are seeking to seize Dabiq in order to encircle units of the ISIS terrorist group deployed in the areas located east of Azaz (controlled by Turkish-backed militants).

If they are able to do so, the Ankara-led forces will stabelize the forntline in northern Syria and will be able to consolidate, at least, their recent gains in the area.
