Turkish-backed Militant Group Declares ‘Start’ Of Military Operation Against YPG

On December 25, a pro-Turkish militant group, Jabhat al-Aisalat wal-Tanmia, declared the “start” of military operation against the Democratic Union Party (PYD), which Ankara describes as a local branch of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), in the Syrian area east of the Euphrates River.

Over the past few days, the Turkish Army and pro-Turkish militant groups have concentrated a large number of military equipment and fighters in the areas near the territory controlled by the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in northeastern Syria. The PYD and its military wing the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), are the core of the SDF.

Despite the declaration of the ‘start’ of the operation by Jabhat al-Aisalat wal-Tanmia, there have been no official comments by Turkey on this issue so far.

Meanwhile, reports appear that the SDF’s Manbij Military Council has once again turned to be friends of the Russians and welcomed deplyoment of the Russian-Syrian checkpoint near Manbij. The checkpont is allegedly located near al-Arima.

with words…… or actual guns and blood?

Rob

The French and British forces are there to divide Syria. They will be cucked like ISIS. They are enemies of Syria. Like rats intruded into Syria.

FlorianGeyer

Britain will find it hard to explain the body bags as well, as Parliament has not approved a military intervention in Syria. Its all been passed off as ‘humanitarian and training mission’ that the majority of the public are totally unaware of.

jorge

The military situation is a general confrontation everywhere there are turks and their proxies, in all the arc Latakia, Idlib, Aleppo, along the line of the failed demilitarized zone, confronts near al Bab and Azaz, the Syrians and the russians geting closer of Manbij. So, what the operations field now says is that there’s a confrontation with the Turks and their proxies. It’s up with the Turks to choose the size of their bloody nose.

FlorianGeyer

This is what happens when countries use Warlord gangs to fight for them :)

jorge

It’s the Erdogan Turks that are in comand, the warlords are following orders. I don’t believe Erdogan has balls to attack the Russian army, but let’s see.

FlorianGeyer

Warlords historically are only interested in plunder and they can see great opportunities in the Kurdish areas that have been largely unaffected by war.

jorge

Truth, but the warlords alone are not able to do the job, that’s why the turkish army is there. I don’t believe they want a real war, but if they want they are going to get it.

FlorianGeyer

FUKUS I suspect DO want Turkey embroiled in a real war though and that is possibly what the US withdrawal is all about.

jorge

Oh yes, those are their wishes, exception made to the micro frog, that dreams of return again to Syria and don’t like turks.

The British are engaged in Syria in wholly illegal warfare. Chickens and Roosts and Homes comes springing to mind ……… poor Teresa already has her hands and befuddled mind full so she’s likely to undergo complete meltdown if Special Forces Personnel commence arriving into RAF Northolt in multiple body-bags

FlorianGeyer

I wonder if the UK personnel said to have been captured in Douma last Summer have been exchanged yet. I say ‘personnel’ because the tunnel networks there likely had military engineers to construct them, especially the massive complex built underneath the existing National Hospital there.

That is a warcrime in itself.

Gregory Casey

I strongly suspect they are still within Syria and languishing in some nice prison camp where they can pass on their knowledge to Syrian & Lebanese & Iranian & Russian Engineers ……. just in case any of them feel they might learn something from them!!
I agree with you 100% that the construction planning & operation of the complex underground beneath the National Hospital in Douma was and remains a bundle of War Crimes. Funny, is it not, to hear the British silence on it all!!

FlorianGeyer

Even the many tons of arched steelwork that supported the hospital above and was painted with Red Lead Oxide , is not something that could be undertaken by bandits in a bombed out city in my opinion. I would think that the materials needed came in to Doume concealed in aid convoys or even openly as steelwork for temporary shelters etc.

Structural engineers would have needed to design the whole complex that was big enough for 20 tonne trucks to navigate.

One smaller tunnel was circa twenty kilometres long between Doums city and another town. It was/is big enough to drive down in a pick up truck, which is what one reporter did and videoed the whole journey. I watched it all :)

Side tunnels linked to the main tunnel were many. This engineering work also required experts.

Gregory Casey

I agree with you. In fact, it was one of the great engineering works of the world during 21st Century

FlorianGeyer

It was all completed in a very short time as well.

I suppose there was no Public Planning Consultation to bother with :)

Even the incontrovertible fact of a military installation being constructed by terrorists under the existing Syrian National Hospital, that was in every day use as a hospital, has been totally ignored by the Western MSM .

This time it is different. How far will the Turks get? The Kurds are good fighters and FSA is not as good. This time they have a good supply route and more anti- tank missiles. The new ones the Americans supplied them with. They also have new types of flying vehicles that make large formations easy targets. They also have cannons, and missile system on this side. Not the same fight at all as Afrin. The advance of the Turks was not too impressive in Afrin. More than anything, they will broker a deal with Assad, they have no choice. This time, The turks will lose. Iran will help them too. The Russians will hit Iblib front, which will mess up the Turks game plan. They have learnt to hide there hardware after Afrin. This is the totality of the YPG they will be attacking, not just an outpost in Afrin. They will not get too far, unless Turkey declares an official war. That is another story.

Mustafa Mehmet

Will see,, watch this is space coming soon all ypg terrorist will die
