On March 26, the Turkish Defense Ministry announced that Turkish and Russian forces had conducted a first patrol in the area of Tal Rifat in northern Syria.
“Within the framework of the previous agreement, the Turkish Armed Forces and the Russian Armed Forces carried out the first independent but coordinated patrol in order to achieve ceasefire, provide stability in the Tal Rifat area and prevent attacks on our elements,” the Defense Ministry said in a Twitter post.
Therefore, Russia and Turkey have still not launched really ‘joint’ patrols at the contact line between areas controlled by the so-called ‘opposition’ and the government.
The patrols reportedly covered the following areas: Kafr Lusin and Al-Dana in northern Idlib, Atarib in western Aleppo, and Qammari and Al-Eiss in southwestern Aleppo.
Another important point that these patrols covered mostly calm areas. Most of the ceasefire violations are taking place in northern Hama and southern Idlib.
Russia continue pleasing Turkey. So, the partition of Syria is now clear and obvious.
it was obvious from the get go, you just accepting it now.
I am slow in accepting the obvious, because I hate it, it is so unjust. This also explains the “hubris” of the Kurds, who already act as if they are a separate independent country “demanding” the “international Community etc etc…..”, completely ignoring Syria’s legitimate government.
people want to believe in knights with shinny armor that will come and save them from their own selves and die for them in order them never to have to either take the initiative or move their asses from their couch and TV.
In the mean time back to reality, every one look after its own interest and if they appear to be helping someone else is only accidental and not intentional. What the russians did in syria is equally criminal as the rest did, in many respects, but then maybe I am wrong and the posters here that say that russia plays the long game, what ever that is, are right. With out holding my breath I wait to see the long russian game which is also very obvious to me, but maybe I am missing something that others see…..
You sound like myself talking to myself. I often think [or hope] maybe I am wrong.
Though disagree with you about Russia being equally criminal; without their interference wouldn’t Syria be gone already? There is something about Russia that is different. I am thinking about the concert they did in Palmyra after the Terrorists were driven out. Who but Russians would do such a crazy thing, to fly from Moscow to Palmyra to play the Bach Chaconne? It seems to me the American government has been completely taken over by psychopaths, but Russia still has normal humans
in their government.
I lived in russia for 5 years and been the last 30 years in and out maybe as much so russia for me is a second home beside most of my friends are russians that we crew up together on the island I grown up, and my family been in business with russians for many generations, so I also used to think just like you. But when we speak of russia we speak of the government and her policies not the people, who live there.
Yes russia in the beginning and always protecting her interest, saved the day for syria and got renewal of her port there as well her air bases. But at the same time sold out the syrians short by relocating all the mercenaries, ertogan organized and send into syria with saudi financing in idlip beside arranging for them to take over afrin to begin with in order to secure the gas pipe coming via turkey.
In effect putin hold back the SAA army when they prepared to go into idlip last year and in short frozen all military action that was against turkeys interest. So now effectively the country is been divided in 3 base on russian arrangements and agreements, with out the syrians to have a saying in the decision making. Sometimes doing half good is worst than doing nothing.
And after sending all the turkish backed terrorists in idlip declared that russia defeated isis and is withdrawing their army remember? They haven’t. what they do now are patrolling allegedly with turks where SAA army should be with SAA left completely out and the future as history teach us about the turks is beside an all out war they will not move out of syria. So you tell me where is the good?
Also with the policies putin is imposing on the syrians because they do need him to survive, they are about to lose also their oil fields to the americans who control them via the kurds. Meaning syria losing the only source of income they have to put back their country together. so you tell me where you dont agree.
You forget the other arabs supporting from Kuwait, Bahrein, Qatar and UAE.
I did not know Russia had anything to do with the Turkish mercenaries occupying Afrin. With all my reading half the nights I missed that. Though I did catch a comment somewhere that made me wonder what it meant. You put my fuzzy pictures into sharp focus, so how can I not agree? Thanks for telling me. I am not attached to illusions.
My family also always was friends with Russians, but they were refugees from the Soviet Union. Before that my grandmother was a piano teacher in Russia for many years. In 1996 my daughter and I went to St. Petersburg for a week and we took the night train to Moscow. We were told by some people something like: the Soviets were bad, but now it is all mafia, which is worse. That was before Putin. I did not know anything about politics except what you get to know growing up in WW2 in East Europe. I thought people had enough of wars.
Russia given the turks the green light to go in afrin and also was the ones who arrange for all mercenaries to be moved with their small arms to idlip. Most of them via turkey found their way into greece and the rest of europe.
it is a big war brewing in europe and the balkan area, watch and you be able follow the events.
Russian objectives in Syria have been questionable from the start.
Syria has no goverment.
Kurds didnt uprise agains Assads as well. You as usual misuse them, so we should forget the rest.
Israel must be dying of jealousy Lmfao.

don’t be ridiculous, foreign leaders always wear kippas when visiting the wall in Jerusalem or that kind of stuff.

So are Putin and Trump vietnamese because they wore a vietnamese outfit at this meeting?
The Jew pimp Putin and his Zionist and Turkey “partners” are busy carving up Syria. Russian arseholes are doing the Zionists job well, soon Americunts will recognize Zionist control over all of Palestine and Golan as perfectly legitimate.

Whose side is Russia on ?
Assad is commander of the Russian army :)
This is the jokes of the day ????
Much sense in your comment and the many reactions to it. Still, for me the question remains where is the Russian national interest in all of this if it makes the whole world doubt the value of Russia as an ally. No doubt the Kremlin critters will feel themselves pretty smart when they play these games, but how smart is it really to expose your weakness to this extent–especially in the Middle East. Remember Hillary’s memo, the whole Syrian tragedy started in a large part with the perception of Russian weakness, leading the Dark Throne to estimate that ousting Assad was something they could probably get away with.
So you sign five contracts with Erdogan, and get ten kisses from Rabbi Lazar. On the other hand, you’re losing the confidence of China. Which counts more? What have you gained?
Because Türkiye the only country they can rely on plus Turkey is powerful country. simple
Well, fuck this!
Never trust Erdogan his is the backstabber. Tell Turkey to attack all USA bases .

, fiddlers on the roof again playing same sad music ????
Erdogan must first chopping off Bolton or Trumps head and attack Israel and USA then we can consider being close to USA enemies.Because he pretends to know China and Russia Iran technology. How on earth can you trust a face in the earth ass in the sky for ventilation worshiper.
Miss fiddler the roof again
Everyone was worried about the US deciding to stay in Syria [including me], but maybe it’s just as well they did.
Putin’s had a bad habit of bartering off bits and pieces of Syria to Erdogan, and this seems a bit like what happened in Idlib before the Turks took over, so I really hope there’s not going to be another one of those Putin/Erdogan deals put on the table soon, since Putin’s the only one who ever abides by those agreements, Erdogan just treats them like toilet paper and does what he wants anyway.
But he hasn’t done that with Trump yet, so the US troops that remain in Syria may yet serve some small purpose that actually suits Assad, I know I’d prefer to have just 200 US troops here for even if it meant a few more years of US occupation, I’d rather that than 2,000 Turkish soldiers and 20,000 of their proxies indefinitely camped in northern Syria, I’m guessing Assad feels the same way too.
Poor Assad, his enemies beat him up every time they see him, and then his so called best friend quickly sells his possessions while he’s unconscious. And unfortunately unlike Idlib, where Assad could have done something to stop it happening [that’s if he’d seen it coming], here in Ar Raqqah and Al Hasakah, he won’t be able to do a damn thing, only Trump will be able to stop the Turks.
If anyone’s counting on Putin to do anything at all to halt a possible Turkish invasion of northern Syria, LOL, just remember how Idlib worked out.
Ok then, Trump might inadvertently do something almost good.
