Trump Threatens Iran With AI Images

United States President Donald Trump threatened Iran on July 27 with AI-generated images depicting the Islamic Republic’s ships and energy infrastructure being blown up and seized by American forces.

The posts followed two days of calm in the Middle East after 13 days of intense U.S. strikes on Iran and retaliatory attacks across the region. Trump ordered the military to halt strikes on July 24 to give diplomacy a chance. Tehran, for its part, also held fire, saying on July 26 that it would continue to do so for as long as Washington did.

One AI-generated image shared by Trump on his Truth Social network showed fighter jets bombing what appears to be an oil facility, captioned “STRIKE ON KHARG,” directly referring to Iran’s Kharg Island, the main oil export hub for the Islamic Republic.

Right after that, the U.S. president posted a series of images in quick succession, all with the caption “It’s Our Oil Tanker now!”

Each one showed an AI-generated image of Trump holding an American flag aboard an apparently Iranian ship. Another included an American soldier as well, and a third showed both soldiers and what appears to be a depiction of Iranian religious leaders.

Trump followed these posts with another captioned “NO MORE ENGINES,” featuring an Iranian ship being blown up. He also posted images of fighter jets carrying out strikes on Iran captioned “Guardian Angles of the World” and “Guardians of the World,” and “Guardians of the World”.

The current ceasefire came after Trump’s advisers reportedly warned him that they were running out of targets to strike and expressed concern about depleting U.S. military stockpiles.

The U.S. president rebuffed these reports, however, telling the Wall Street Journal that the U.S. has “far more munitions than anyone in the world, and far more than we need.”

Trump’s latest posts should be taken very seriously, especially given signs that the U.S. is not just planning to resume strikes on Iran, but also to expand them. One such sign is the upcoming meeting between Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Israel’s Channel 12 reported that Netanyahu and his team plan to present Trump with fresh intelligence on Iran’s efforts to rebuild its military and nuclear program during their meeting, including what Israeli officials believe are accelerated efforts under new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei to advance toward a nuclear weapon.

Previous private presentations by Netanyahu to Trump on Iran’s nuclear activities reportedly played a significant role in persuading the U.S. to attack the Islamic Republic.
