Trump Says Secret Weapon Dubbed ‘Discombobulator’ Was Used In Operation To Capture Maduro

The United States military used a secret weapon during the operation to capture Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, President Donald Trump told the New York Post on January 24, calling the system “The Discombobulator”.

Trump boasted that the weapon “made [enemy] equipment not work” when U.S. helicopters landed in Caracas on January 3 to capture Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, in what became known later as “Operation Absolute Resolve”.

“The Discombobulator. I’m not allowed to talk about it,” Trump said during an exclusive interview in the Oval Office.

“They never got their rockets off. They had Russian and Chinese rockets, and they never got one off. We came in, they pressed buttons and nothing worked. They were all set for us,” he added.

Trump’s revelation followed on-the-ground accounts from Venezuela describing how troops guarding Maduro were brought to their knees, “bleeding through the nose” and vomiting blood.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on January 10 shared on X an alleged interview with one of the Venezuelan troops who survived the battle.

The guard described how U.S. forces wiped out “hundreds” of fighters without losing a single soldier, using technology unlike anything he has ever seen.

“We were on guard, but suddenly all our radar systems shut down without any explanation,” the guard said. “The next thing we saw were drones, a lot of drones, flying over our positions. We didn’t know how to react.”

Moments later, a handful of helicopters appeared — “barely eight,” according to the guard — deploying what he estimated were just 20 U.S. troops into the area.

“They were technologically very advanced,” the guard recalled describing the troops. “They didn’t look like anything we’ve fought against before.”

“We were hundreds, but we had no chance,” he continued. “They were shooting with such precision and speed; it felt like each soldier was firing 300 rounds per minute.”

“At one point, they launched something—I don’t know how to describe it… it was like a very intense sound wave. Suddenly I felt like my head was exploding from the inside. We all started bleeding from the nose. Some were vomiting blood. We fell to the ground, unable to move,” he added.

An estimated 100 people, including 32 Cuban military and security personnel, were reportedly killed during the U.S. operation, not “hundreds” as the guard said.

Taking into account what Trump revealed and the testimony of the Venezuelan guard, it is safe to assume that the U.S. military employed multiple systems at the same time to facilitate its operation in Caracas. Attributing all of these effects to a single system is unrealistic.

Venezuela air defenses were likely displayed using electronic warfare means, some cyber weapon, or may have been compromised by some complex sabotage operation. The Discombobulator described by Trump was likely something within these lines.

Of course the use of something more advanced like some direct energy or electromagnetic system is also a possibility, although way less realistic.

As for what affected the troops guarding Maduro, this was likely a whole other thing. The U.S. military may have used some secret sonic weapon, but it is even more likely that some top secret non-lethal chemical weapon was employed, something like an incapacitating agent.

It’s worth noting that several such chemical weapons are completely odorless. Thus, it is normal that the guard didn’t report smelling anything.

All in all, it looks like the U.S. military employed some of its best technology and techniques during the operation to capture Maduro. More information on weapons like The Discombobulator will likely surface later.

the advance weapon was the corruption among venezuelan army that sold his president! 12 helicopter chinook flying over caracas are an easy target for an army with plenty of manpads, thermal image and 50cal gun mounted in pick up trucks. even taliban shot down many us helicopters in similar operations
