Trump Reaffirms His Decision To Withdraw Troops From Syria

U.S. president Donald Trump greets supporters during a campaign rally at Four Seasons Arena on July 5, 2018 in Great Falls, Montana. President Trump held a campaign style ‘Make America Great Again’ rally in Great Falls, Montana with thousands in attendance.

U.S. President Donald Trump reaffirmed his decision to withdraw all American forces from Syrian once again and blamed previous administrations for what he called “endless wars” in the Middle East.

“I inherited a total mess in Syria and Afghanistan, the endless wars of unlimited spending and death. During my campaign I said, very strongly, that these wars must finally end. We spend $50 Billion a year in Afghanistan and have hit them so hard that we are now talking peace after 18 long years,” Trump tweeted on February 1.

Trump also claimed that his administration will soon “destroyed 100% of the Caliphate” in Syria and vowed to “watching them closely” after the upcoming withdrawal.

“It is now time to start coming home and, after many years, spending our money wisely. Certain people must get smart!” the President added.

Trump’s remarks were not a surprise, as it became clear that the he is determined to withdraw from Syria, despite the backlash from the mainstream media and even senior officials in his administration.

With the withdrawal of U.S. troops almost confirmed, Washington is now reportedly working to form a new coalition led by the UK, France and Australia. The new coalition is supposed to establish a safe-zone in northeastern Syria. However, Washington’s partners have not agreed on the plan yet and Turkey will likely oppose it.
