US President-elect Donald Trump said that after his inauguration all that relates to the UN will change. The Republican made his announcement on his Twitter on Friday.
“As to the UN, things will be different after Jan. 20th,” Trump wrote. The inauguration of the US president-elect is scheduled on January 20.

Trump did not specify what exactly he meant, but his statement was published some time after the UN Security Council adopted a resolution, which requires Israel to immediately stop its settlement activities on the Palestinian lands. Fourteen countries of the 15 members of the Security Council voted for the document, while the US delegation abstained from the voting, despite the request of the Israeli authorities to block the resolution.
Earlier, Trump called on the current US administration not to allow taking this resolution.
“The resolution being considered at the United Nations Security Council regarding Israel should be vetoed,” he said in a statement on Thursday.
Trump stressed that “peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians will only come through direct negotiations between the parties, and not through imposition of terms by the United Nations.” According to him, the proposed resolution “puts Israel in a very poor negotiating position and is extremely unfair to all Israelis.”
Earlier, the Reuters news agency reported that the Israeli authorities got in touch with the Trump’s team, asking him to intervene and stop the voting in the UN Security Council in any way.

This is one area where I’m opposed to Trump, and highly disappointed that he tows the establishment neo-con line about protecting ‘precious’ Israel. The line that they want ‘negotiations’ is a load of crap, if negotiations alone where going to work, they would have solved it by now.
