The administration of US President Donald Trump is fueling its economic conflict with China.

Citing Beijing’s decision to respond to the recent US tarrifs against China with own tarrifs, the White House vowed to to impose a 10 percent tariff on another $200 billion-worth of Chinese goods.

“China apparently has no intention of changing its unfair practices related to the acquisition of American intellectual property and technology,” Trump said in a statement. “Rather than altering those practices, it is now threatening US companies, workers and farmers who have done nothing wrong.”

The new $200 billion-worth tariff will be imposed if China implements ow tariff on US goods, which was announced last week.

China responded by setting a 25 percent tariff on 545 US products including agriculture products, cars, and seafood.  According to the Chinese media, 114 more product categories, including chemicals, medical equipment and energy industry products, will be announced later.

Jesus

Trump is fighting a loosing battle against China, most consumer goods retailing in US come from China, higher prices because of tariffs will lead to higher inflation, leading to higher interest rates.

Joe Dirt

Poor analysis of US and China economy relations but that doesn’t stop two idoits from the “up vote” lol

Jesus

Your Hollywood analysis exceeds the density of many others.

Jesus

What do you know of the correlation between inflation and high interest rates.

Justin

agree

Justin

i disagree! USA can easily ramp up its manufacturig base! Which is what Trump is planning all along! The US is in a good position because it has the richest consumer base plus a strong potential manufacturing base! The USA can literally fuel itself as a market! And lets keep in mind the the USA has other options too! They can FORCE their allies to play ball also! Those nations they OCCUPY like Germany (the head of the EU), Japan and South Korea (in which they occupy and protect), and they have bases everywhere! What about NATO? How does that even exist without the USA funding it! China loses! The world could easily return to pre-1990 conditions! Wouldnt happen over night but it would happen! China would cave into these conditions! American economy is 14.7 trillion and chine is 5.8 Trillion! Its not even half as big and the US has allies plus occupation! U cant argue these facts! China loses! (i am not pro USA i am just a realist) USA used to make TV’s too u know! USA used to make plastic goods etc! USA has fucked off the EPA regulations! Trump is planning to manufacture the shit out of China! Whtas China gonna do when the USA says to the EU, NATO, Australia, UK Japan, South Korea “its us or them. Choose”! YOU KNOW WHO THEY ARE GONNA CHOOSE! So please dont say silly things! China can be replaced by many other countries! Indonesia, Taiwan, thailand, Cambodia, Equador, alsalvador, Laos etc etc. even Mexico!!! Think about it! In the extreme end, who has the upper hand? The USA has it! Honestly answer this question, who would u rather be the leader of the free world? USA or China? China has a president for life! USA has a democratic republic that is in revolution! USA has a constitution! Dont be stupid! U should never barrack for China! Ever!

Joe Dirt

Well put. I like how you separated UK and EU, lol. You know your shit

Garga

Let’s see if China puts tariffs on US energy, crude, LPG, etc. That’d be an interesting move.

jako

And I thought that only “interesting move” would be that they do not import US oil & gas at all.

Garga

You think better than me. Salut!

jako

It is easy to think “better” when the comment is already good.
Going in right direction… and I just went bit further

Jesus

China does not need to buy anything from US that infringes on its political and economic sovereignty. Why suppor the dollar? With a full blown economic war, you do not help your enemy, you put the hurt on him.

Wise Gandalf

In economy is no such term, China does not need to buy anything from US. Chinese people buy, and they want looooooot of american products. Otherwise comes to revolt amd the haters lead by juses-garga tandem will shout, zionists manipulated chinese!!! :DDDD

Sinbad2

What American products?
Name some American products?

Joe Dirt

Food, beverage and feed: $133 billion. Soybeans were the number one product in this category, with sales of $22 billion, followed by meat and poultry at $18 billion.

Crude oil, fuel and other petroleum products: $109 billion. This is one of the fastest growing areas of US exports, up 37% in just the last year.

Civilian aircraft and aircraft engines: $99 billion. This is what makes Boeing (BA) the nation’s largest single exporter.

Auto parts, engines and car tires: $86 billion. Many of these are shipped to assembly plants owned by both US and foreign automakers in Mexico and Canada.

Now STFU!??

Joe Dirt

When in doubt just say Zionist lol

Joe Dirt

Who do you think loses in an economic war the buyer or seller? US buys $500 billion in products vs China’s $129 billion. If no one buys your product what happens? you go broke. Seriously this is Ecomonics 101.

How would you replace $500 billion? China ecomony would collapse in a day.

Jesus

You project the Hollywood mindset, in a war you are ready to take casualties, China can diversify export markets even deeper with SCO members, Africa, EU.

What’s going to happen with US Walmart or other retailers shelves being empty?
500 billion in exports for the largest economy in the world can be painful but not catastrophic.
On the other hand, US will be more hard pressed since they do not produce a lot of these products they import, and retooling and redeveloping industries long gone will be quite hard, considering labor shortages and the sense of entitlement prevalent within the American society.

Sinbad2

So what exactly does the US export?
iPhones, that it has made in China?

The US has no money, just credit, the US has been bankrupt since Nixon defaulted on the gold standard. The US has been running on borrowed money and time ever since.

Joe Dirt

You have nothing factual to say?

Wise Gandalf

China can lose this war, not the USA.

Joe Dirt

China is limited somewhat in the amount of retaliatory tariffs it can apply, simply because it doesn’t import nearly as much in American goods compared with what the U.S. takes of Chinese products. China imported just $129.9 billion from the U.S. in 2017, compared with $505.5 billion in exports, according to the Census Bureau

Sinbad2

But if China taxed, exports to the USA, Americans would have to pay more for virtually all consumer goods. Sure other countries like Vietnam would build new factories to compete with China, but by then America would be dead.

Joe Dirt

Lol if China taxes more then bye bye business. In addition American business are leaving China anyways. The US will survive without an iPhone or Wal Mart hahaha

Ronald

That is exactly what China did, 10 % tariff on US petroleum products, moving China’s oil purchasing to Iran rather than the US.
As most are aware Trump’s reaction to that was to threaten another 200 billion in punitive tariffs.
It will be interesting to see China’s reaction to that.

Merijn

Trump’s Economy soon Will be a very Lonely One….America will be doing strictly Business with itself… Like playing Monopoly alone… Big Fun….

Justin

completely disagree! it will be the complete opposite of what u just said!

Merijn

Can be…we’ll have to see what happens perhaps it’s all just theater

Real Anti-Racist Action

We don’t want any trade with China. Everything I ever bought made in China broke, ripped me off.
Lets just shake hands and part ways for eternity.
We never need to do nor desire to ever do business with China ever again.
Let China make things for Chinese and others, we do not care.
Don’t bring anything here and we don’t want to ever again send anything over there.

Wise Gandalf

They have also good priducts. Of course, not in 1 dollar/piece category. :)

Joe Dirt

MAGA!!!

Justin

WWG1….
?

Sinbad2

China should try putting an export tax on all hi tech goods, that the US cannot make, like phones.
Make Americans pay more for their phones, that are all made in China.

Siegfried

” Trump Administration Continues Economic War On China,”
And China will f*ck the USA ditching the US-dollar in Asia and Africa, South-America..
Bravo Trump.. (SIC!)
