On Saturday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Tiger Forces captured the Al-Sabeikhat area in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
With this advance, the SAA entered the administrative border of the province of Deir Ezzor. SAA troops deployed less than 50 km away from Tal Sanof – the closet SAA position in the city of Deir Ezzor besieged by ISIS terrorists.

In the eastern Homs countryside, the SAA continued its advance and imposed fire control over the Sukhna Gas Field and several heights around the strategic town of Sukhna. According to pro-government sources, the SAA is only 200 meters away from the Sukhna town’s entrances and it’s expected to start storming them soon.
From its side, ISIS claimed that 10 Syrian soldiers were killed in an attack on SAA positions in the Al-Wahab field in the southwestern Raqqa countryside. ISIS claimed that its fighters also managed to capture a Syrian soldier during the attack.
Furthermore, ISIS claimed that 3 Syrian soldiers were killed during clashes east of еру Al-Heel field in northeast of Palmyra.
The ISIS-linked News Agency Amaq published a video showing ISIS fighters’ attack on SAA positions south of Resafa town in the southern Raqqa countryside yesterday.
Some pro-government sources believe that SAA will manage to capture Sukhna and the entire eastern Hama countryside in the coming weeks, which means that SAA will be able, in the next stage, to focus fully on fighting ISIS in Deir Ezzor.
Go Tigers !
Tigers and 5th corps should reach the proximity of Deir Ezzor city by the end of August, the defenses of Sukhana can be tested, if they are light and ISIS has withdrawn the bulk of its forces from the town, let 2-3000 troops invest in the city and establish a defensive pivot, and the rest of the troops move east towards Deir Ezzor. Any presumed ISIS counterattacks from the northern flank will be minimal, if any.

So you think ISIS are Knights?
Now we will see how fortified Suhkna town really is. If we can believe the overall 20k number of soldiers left for IS, than it would make sense to station many of them right there, as it is one of the few close combat, urban area fighting grounds. Mostly, it would be a delaying action only anyway, to keep the Eufrath river safe for as long as possible, as that is the last strong perimeter left to IS.
Basically I expected more trouble around Deir Ezzor, that IS would try harder to storm it, but seems that air superiority bogged them down enough already.
What’s the point of capturing deir ezzor if you can’t hold it anyway. Two big fronts will come together in deir. Its over for Isis .. they are fighting for nothing.
With the last attacks on Deir Ezzor failing, the time now has run out, true indeed. Question remains, if the IS has the same opinion about it. No one likes to have a hornets nest right in the middle in between the army.
As expected, the SAA is using the advance along the Euphrates as their main pivot for the relief of Deir Ez-zor… The fight by the US bought and paid for mercenaries and operatives..aka..the fraud called “ISIS” at Suhkna is all for naught as they are now being outflanked to the extreme north….
The liberation of Deir Ez-zor could happen as soon as a week from now as the SAA moves rapidly using the Tiger forces as their main attack force….
The SAA will reach Deir Aziur by mid August at this rate
