On Thursday, pro-government forces, led by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Tiger Forces liberated the villages of Al-Bouajouz, Khirbat Al-Khazraf, the fourth farms and the Faryya village near the ISIS-held town of Maskanah. By this, the SAA has isolated the ISIS stronghold from the northern and western flanks.

The Russian and Syrian air force fighter jets continued bombing ISIS positions in the town of Maskanah and east of it. The SAA will likely not storm Maskanah, which has been fortified by ISIS. Instead, the SAA will continue its advance west and south of it to force ISIS militants to fight in unfortified areas and eliminate them, as the SAA did in Deir Hafer.

Maskana town is considered the last major town in the eastern Aleppo countryside. Capturing it, the Syrian forces would be on the borders of Raqqa province, and ISIS would lost all of its position in Aleppo province.

Yesterday, ISIS fighters were reportedly able to destroy an SAA Shilka vehicle and two 23-mm guns with ATGM south of the Jirrah military airport.

The ISIS-linked news agency Amaq also published photos of ISIS militants attacking the SAA in the eastern Aleppo countryside. A locally upgraded T-72 tank (similar to the Iraqi T-55 Enigma) could be noted on them.

This is a great day of SAA advances.
A great day for Daesh to run away or die.

He’s probably depressed that Daesh are collapsing… poor little terror-sympathiser cvnt that he is…. having a quiet sob and receiving a pick-me-up BJ from his BF.

“…the SAA will continue its advance west and south of it to force ISIS

Hmmm, I’ve been saying that.

SVEN

Let’s paint all of Syria red again!

Daniel Rich

@ SVEN,

My thoughts exactly. Let’s use the blood of the takfiri terrorists to achieve that goal.

El Diablo

I’ve another idea of encirclment. But good advance :D

Hrky75

I’d use “outflanked” but they’ll properly encircle it in a few days anyway…

testera

It says “encircling”, which means that it’s currently ongoing process (that will eventually result in encirclment).

PZIVJ

Maybe the pocket will be the shape of a rectangle this time, and not a circle at at?
“ENRECTANGLEMENT”

testera

Shape is always irregular.

Joe Doe

Does not look like the town is encircled

Gabriel Hollows

Bombard to submission, take all to their graves!

gravity

Encircled the town is good move to isolate Iss and it will force them to retreat further therefore the tiger forces will wait until the fifth legion will capture Dier zuer and than they march from East while tiger will march from West to capture Raqqa before US back Kurdish arrive.

Baudouin Jérusalem

Tiger forces job !
