Tiger Forces, Allies Capture Another Oil Field In South of Resafa (Map)

Syrian Army Tiger Forces and local National Defense Forces units have captured another oilfield south of the government-held town of Resafa in the province of Raqqah, according to pro-government sources.

Government fighters have reportedly recaptured the Deilla oil field after a series of firefights with ISIS terrorists. Right now the Tiger Forces and their allies are steadily clearing from ISIS key areas south of the Resafa-Ithriyah road.

At the same time, numerous pro-government sources are speculating about the expected government push towards the city of Deir Ezzor besieged by ISIS from the Resafa area. However, right now, this option looks unlikely.

They are going to close de gap on their frontlines, preparing for a future combat with the kurds.

It seems SAA prioritizes oil fields over saving 100k civilians in DeZ. What can one say. It is a choice.

I agree , SAA should go to Euphrates and block the American proxies from advancing .

Maybe a problem of doing it your way is that, temporarily, the front line becomes even longer? But yes, if you could again cut off and box in the bad guys, it’d seem these oil fields wouldn’t be going anywhere in the mean time.

Yes indeed, Raqqa locals will make it difficult for American/SDF atacks, they already have dissention of Arabs within SDF and Locals in Raqqa, use this as a crowbar to wedge in and exploit – take Euphrates South bank and begin moving slowly towards Deir Ezzor.

I think that the SAA has enough defences in place to hold it against the Wahabbi orcs. Pushing south of ar-Raqqa could result in bottling up the strong ISIS contingent that is dug in east of Homs & Hama. Isolate that salient and cut their lines of supply, and the summer desert conditions will sap the orcs trapped in that cauldron and make it easier to dig them out. Going south also allows al-Sukhnar to be taken in a pincer, together with SAA thrust from Palmyra.

Distraction. They need to converge on sukhna immediately.
