On February 9, Houthi fighters shelled several positions, fortifications and ammo depots of the Saudi Army in the southern Saudi provinces of Jizan and Najran with dozens of shells and rockets. The Yemeni al-Masirah TV reported that several Saudi soldiers were killed and injured in the Houthis shelling.
Moreover, Houthi snipers killed two Saudi soldiers in the al-Tala’a military positions in Najran province and in al-Shabakah military positions in Jizan province, according to al-Masirah.
In the western Yemeni coastal area, the Houthis reportedly destroyed two armored vehicles of the Saudi-led coalition with ATGMs.
Warplanes of the Saudi-led coalition conducted several airstrikes on positions of the Houthis in northern and western Yemen, according to Yemeni sources. The UAE-based al-Arabiya TV reported that “Hussien Ali al-Hadi”, a general commander of the Houthis, was killed in one of the Saudi-led coalition airstrikes in northern Yemen.
The Saudi-led coalition aerial forces stepped up its operations against the Houthis in northern and western Yemeni recently. However, it failed to limit the Houthis influence in these two regions.
