A video, showing a series of tests of the new Prohod-T robot minesweeper vehicle, was published online by Russian state-run media.

The new all-terrain Prohod-T robot minesweeper vehicle was developed by the Ural Transport Machine Building Design Bureau. The vehicle looks like a normal main battle tank, equipped with a special roller for clearing the way of mines ahead of a convoy. A feature of the tank is a remote control that is carried out from the command center.

The Prohod-T is able to neutralize mines equipped with radio detonators both on the soil and on snow. In automatic mode the robot follows a predefined route.

The Prohod-T was built on the basis of the BMR-3M mine clearing vehicle (T-90 chassis). The turret was removed and replaced by a new all-welded superstructure that protects against mine fragment debris, artillery shell splinters and small arms fire. The robot is equipped with Explosive Reactive Armor (ERA) blocks. It has an improved armor of the bottom part, made of composite construction that is able to withstand anti-tank mine blast anywhere under the hull.
